((Okay, the moment you've all been waiting for....>:D Well, sort of. XD))

Keshin sits up from her place at the Bar, thoroughly drunk. She'd been seeing patrons come and go all night and it was probably time to head back to the ship. She wasn't even really sure why she hadn't left before: something about this Bar kept people inside. Keshin, stumbling, shoves a few Imperial credits on the table (probably not nearly enough) and wanders out the door of the Bar. Following the road to the docks, she sees something...impossible.

There was clearly another ship already landing---and a really ugly, near-unusable Bug fighter at that. Walking out of this Bug was...her own host. Dressed in very, very strange clothes. Almost a modified Imperial jumpsuit. Keshin raises an eyebrow and hurries past this....person. This Bar was beginning to seem very disturbing. Something was wrong with it. It was time to leave, quickly.
***********************************************************************************************************
Joanne's timing for re-entering the Bar might have been off. At Keshin's best guess, they hadn't been gone for more than a week and a half. But they needed to make sure the deal with the rebellion was well in hand. They simply hadn't had any takers for the bounty hunter service. Joanne landed the Bug and frowned as she noticed the number of broken ships. Maybe it was a small miracle they'd made it on to the planet properly at all. "Hatch down," mutters Joanne carelessly, putting her Dracon in its holster.

When the hatch of the Bug fighter lowers, Joanne wanders out only to see...herself. In an Imperial uniform. Drunk as a skunk. The drunk her glares at them as she passes.

<Uhm, Kess?>

<No. Nope. We're not thinking about it. Just don't even try to figure it out.>

<But....>

<We don't want to know. ........why do I keep coming to this place?>

Van watched warily as Ewa bent over, and pushed the spilled liquid into her body. He winced at her reaction: it wasn't made for her, at any rate. Green Vivalite, specifically, was the Human-made version and while it worked for many organics, its main market was Humans, since many species tended to live longer either naturally, or through permanent genetic modification.

Humans liked to be "in control" of their biological destinies, and perhaps that was why so many were attracted to drugs and medicine. Vivalite was a quick, effective, fix, which delighted Humans, since many didn't always prefer expensive permanent changes to their genetic or physical profiles.

Yet, the price was paid in its addictiveness, and historically, Vivalite could be compared to the opium trade the British used to pressure the Chinese during the Opium Wars, long ago. Thankfully, unlike opium, properly administered Vivalite did its advertised job without too many ill effects. The addiction could even be bypassed with proper single-moment use.

"Like I said," Van stated, "There's the too pureness of the Vivalite. I'm taking the hazardous guess that it started attacking the body, mmm, chaa? It needs to be on the dilute with the other chemicals for it to work right, and even then, I'm not the Doctor, chaa."

He noted the swirling changes in the pigment of her hand, and bit his lip, before it quickly disappeared. She was probably trying to correct the course of the Vivalite, and somehow it worked.

"The body, yours, it's under your control, so you don't... Nichaa, you don't need the Vivalite. In any case, common cases require only the Vivacure, which is weaker, much weaker."

He glanced back at Rathien, and was well-aware that the Hunter had adjusted to his position faster than Van. I feel so out of whack. It's like how I felt when I left Beryllia all over again... Tch. I need to step it up. If the rest of the Court could see me now, they would be wondering what's wrong with me!

I'm a Pirate Lord, dammit! I didn't get there fumbling around, all distracted by cute girls and Hegemonic Hunters! If I was back home, this wouldn't be happening. It can't be true, what station you're born in is not genetic.

Van glared at Rathien, his fury at himself and his situation growing, I may have been born beneath this guy, but by traditional birthright, I'm on even with him. Better than him, even. And besides, I've unchained myself from that world!

I have to get a serious grip on things, or I'm going to lose this game.

"Yeah, it really didn't," Mike says testily, waving the container.  "Shouldn't you know whether this whole process is going to kill your bloody mates?"

Jasper laughs awkwardly at Al's comment. He scoops his woodshaving into a neater pile on the table, when Zorish asks him a question.

"I uh, well, I'm here on vacation, you could say. Things were getting... uh, boring, back at home, so I needed to get some space, y'know? Take a break from the normal stuff." He laughs. "Boy, did I sure succeed there, huh?" "I ... borrowed a ship from a friend of mine, and kinda just.... ended up here by mistake. Must have hit the wrong coordinates or something. I'm not exactly a great pilot or anything. "

<<Friend of yours? That's the fattest lie I've ever heard.>>
<<Oh, should I have just said Visser Three then?>>
<<...Carry on...>>

"So... yeah, that's it, basically. No clue how long I'll be here. It's only been a few hours since I landed anyways, but it sure does feel like so much longer. Like the time we were waiting in line for that roller coaster ride behind that big fat guy with the ponytail who would *NOT* stop yammering about some stupid politics stuff. Seriously, that was the BORINGEST thing ever. The line was probably only like, ten minutes long, but OH. MY. GOSH. He just made it that much worse. It took forever for us to get up to the loading station, and it wasn't even that fun, in my opinion."

Sapttus had gone off on some wild tangent.

<<What the heck, dude?>>
<<I told you I thought it was going to be a dumb ride!>>
<<No! Sapttus! Take a chill pill, man, you're gonna freak her out!>>

Japser wrenched back control, although admittedly, Sapttus didn't resist much at all.

"This place is kinda crazy like that too. Maybe not as aggravating yet, but crazy none the less. But hey, at least it isn't boring here, right?"

He grins, as if that would make everything seem normal.

~Rathien~

Rathien smiles at Ewa once more.  "Yes...but generally if the stakes are higher, the payoff is much more grand.  A bit like the old hunting addage...the greater the risk, the greater the feast.  Weak prey may pose no threat, but hunting strong prey...that is living."  Rathien grins again.  "Of course, there are other types of hunting, where the goal is not a kill.  In fact, one can hunt without causing any harm at all."  He watches Ewa's skin shift and change, molding and shaping.  And then Van mentioned something about her being able to control her body.  "That is beautiful."  He indicates the vine-like pattern on her hand.  "Are you able to do this at will?"

He ****s his head a bit before finally turning his eyes on Van.  The man looked furious and...befuddled.  How entertaining.  "What's the matter senrin*?  You seem a bit...perturbed."  He shows his fangs in another wide grin before returning his eyes once again to Ewa.

*If Van does indeed know some Ildari, just to let you know Pyre that senrin is a word that has changed meaning over many years.  In effect it means "lesser one", though its true meaning dates from the time when Ildiar used a caste system.  This was the word used by the upper-class when addressing someone lower than them.  The caste system is no longer used on Ildiar, so the meaning has changed into an insult of sorts...when using the word now it means that the one using the word wants the one who's listening to know that the speaker thinks himself above the listener and wants the listener to know his opinion.  Ironically both definitions fit this situation rather well.  :p

Illim trails behind Mike and Terenia to the open hatch, standing behind them to watch. He folds his hands across his chest, trying to answer the question Terenia had voiced: what do we want from him?

They really shouldn't have to be in a position to barter, considering they didn't choose to have these strange creatures placed on Corliss's ship, Illim figures. But since their hand has been forced, why not force his in return?

A toothy grin creeps onto his face as a reflection of his thoughts.

Serid glances to the Andalite named Claxter as he approaches their table. The human nothlit's dark eyes narrow, betraying the agitation with the Warrior that he still harbors for his eagerness to speak to an Imperial regarding the rebellion.

He turns his attention to Jocun again and murmurs, "Perhaps you already answered, but I am curious as to what brought you here."

"I just felt it was time for a break from the current monotony, you know? Take a break. Go somewhere new. Obviously this place isn't well known, for one reason or another. And you? What brought you here? You are interested in the rebellion, yes? Did you come here seeking them?" Jocun asked.

Claxter saw Serid narrow his eyes at him. He gave him an inquisitive look, but didn't say anything. Was he annoyed that Claxter had talked to Zorish?

After a few moments, Al sighed, shook his head, and turned back to the conversation at hand. He listened to Sapptus's rambling, a slight look of concern crossing his face.

"Sounds like that roller coaster was just asking for a Furka overhaul. Hey Jasper, think maybe you need something to eat?" he asked. He hoped his hint wasn't too subtle- Does Sapptus need oatmeal?

He looked back at Zorish, "Yeah, time here doesn't seem to pass in the normal way. It's weird, but even my internal clock's been having trouble keeping everything straight."

Salem responded to Mike, "That should have been nothing but safe for them. They should have moved by choice. It doesn't even do anything to them." He started moving up the ramp, "Let me see if they're alright."

Ewa frowned in confusion at Rathien when he gestured to her hand and asked if she was able to do that at will.  "At will"?  As opposed to?  Well, I wouldn't have done it if not for the Vivalite, but...  Van captured her attention before she was able to put her thoughts in order though--his rather confusing explanation of Vivalite aside (dilution wasn't going to change the fact the the stuff was full of abberant cells that didn't submit to a shifting system, which made it almost useless and possibly dangerous).  He was glaring at Rathien, his expression both furious and slightly off-balance.  What happened?  Her eyes jump back to Rathien, but the assassin is still just crouching on the floor, an amused smile on his face.  What did he do while I wasn't paying attention?

"Van?" Ewa asked worriedly.  "What's going on?  What happened?"  She stood up and backed a few steps away, eyes flicking back and forth between the two men, ready to draw her knife though she doubted it would do much good.

Efaen watches the exchange impassively, her arms folded across her chest. Her main eyes are narrowed at the two Yeerks aboard the Skimmer, while one stalk watches Salem cautiously. Her remaining stalk eye scans the area for trouble. She does not offer any commentary on the exchange, both because she does not entirely understand what is going on and because it is of no business to her. Instead, she sends "Corliss" a private message.

<<Corliss, we must speak immediately regarding my transfer to your base. My Prince requires confirmation of our agreement with your leader, and he requires it before you depart.>>

Terenia flinches internally at Efaen's thought-speak, but she does not deign to answer, although she can think of a few choice words to send flying the Andalite's way. Instead she remains silent, half paying attention to Mike and Salem's exchange and half trying to push away thoughts of her sister.

Zorish watches Jasper for a long moment, not entirely sure how to react to the strange, rambling response he had received.

<<He's crazy,>> Tamora supplies, her anxiety bubbling up in their shared consciousness. <<We should stay away from him. What if he's dangerous? He has that knife...>>

<<He isn't dangerous,>> Zorish scoffs, although his eyes flicker down to the woodshaving pile on the table before returning to Jasper's face. <<He's nervous. I can't imagine why, though. Perhaps it is my uniform. I wonder if every patron here is as staunchly against Imperials as the Andalite.>>

<<If they are, then we should leave,>> Tamora says quickly. <<Now.>>

<<And waste a free vacation?>> Zorish asks with an inward chuckle. <<Where is your sense of adventure, Tamora?>>

Zorish blinks, his eyes coming back into focus as he shifts away from the internal conversation. In his distracted state the one called Al had begun to speak again, and though he misses most of the context one piece of information sticks in his mind.

"No, it certainly isn't boring..." Zorish murmurs in agreement with Jasper, before shooting Al a sharp glance.

"Internal clock?" he repeats. "I was unaware of the fact that human hosts had such abilities..." His gaze shifts between the two of them. "I presume that both of you are of my kind, correct? Perhaps that is a foolish assumption in a place such as this, but I have never seen a human beyond his own planet without a Yeerk in its head."

<<It?>> Tamora asks defensively.

<<Hush, you know what I mean.>>

Sami groaned as she sat up and rubbed her head. Light filtered through her eyelids as she winced and hid them behind her hand. It was way too bright. She had only gone to bed a while ago. How could it already be day time? She sat up and slowly opened her eyes, her pupils adjusting to the amout of the light. Her dark green eyes sparkled in the light as she frowned and looked about her. There was a lake to her left, sparkling. There was a slight breeze that rustled through the grass around her, making soft ripples on the lake.

She frowned as she sat up, wincing and making a soft hissing noise as her hand shot up to her head again. It felt wet. She pulled her hand away from her head. Instead of being its natural light green hue on tan, it was dark wil blood. She whimpered softly, not knowing what had happened. Her long, curly black hair cascaded down her shoulders as she tried to push herself up, using a nearby tree to do so. After a few failed attempts, she was finally up and walking. Slowly.

She barely registered where she was as she wandered along, but eventually she heard voices. Stepping out from the tree line she saw a building. She could hear the voices inside. Slowly, she stumbled across the ground between the trees and the building. She almost passed out from the effort, and resorted to leaning up against the wall beside the door to keep herself up.

((I hope this is ok for a starting post >.<))

Serid supposes it is only natural for the Yeerk to ask him questions in return, but he is reticent to answer, especially when his answer had revealed so little about him.

"No," Serid replies simply. "Tell me, what do you and other members of the Empire do, now that the war is over?"

Illim rests his hand casually on his Dracon as he watches Salem approach. When Terenia and Mike do not immediately respond, Illim speaks up.

"Actually," he says, leaning against the ship's open hatch, "we've got a question or two for you first."

"Right now we have a large empire and aren't at war with anyone, so we're just working out all the intricacies of actually running an empire instead of expanding and defending. After they finally defeated the Andalites, people started wanting to just relax, you know? The Kelbrid and other species are still out there, and their forces remain strong, so we're not eager to expand anymore."

"Personally I am in charge of one of the more prominent planets, and am constantly working on public relations between the major groups of the Empire. It can be stressful, but rewarding."

A portal at the edge of the woods slightly flickered. This portal had been here for quite a while and even had a person go through it at one point. That same person came through the portal again, however this time was different. When he had appeared the first time he had been gravely injured and almost near death. This time he had not a trace of his previous injuries, however he had two new ones.

Two new scars were on this mans face, but even a casual glance would be enough to know that they were very different. The first scar started above his right eye then traveled across and down his face to end below his left eye. This wound was maybe half an inch wide. The second scar started above his left eye and traveled across and down his face to end below his right eye. This scar was perhaps an inch wide.

The human was carrying a staff that was perhaps three and a half feet long and topped with a large ruby about the size of a normal human fist. The human waved his staff at the portal and amazingly the portal seemed to disappear behind thick vines that sprouted from the ground to surround it.

Satisfied that the portal was secure he began walking towards the building known to him as the Galaxy's Edge Space bar. He hoped that Catie had found Van and Ewa while he was gone. As he approached the bar the human noticed two things. The first was that his raven, Grun, was perched on the door frame seemingly waiting for him. The next was a humanoid leaning against the door. This human had tan skin that also seemed to have a greenish tint in it. It's hair was long and as black as Grun. As he got closer he could tell that it was a female. As he drew near he was shocked to see that she was completely naked.

The human removed a cloak that was hanging over his shoulder and tapped the female on the shoulder. "Excuse me miss, but would you have need of this?" he asked as he handed her the cloak. He looked at her and noticed a wound on her head. He looked into her eyes with his unique ones. His right eye a sparkling sapphire blue and his left a shimmering emerald green. "Are you ok?" he asked.

Sami had been leaning against the door frame for quite some time trying to keep herself concious, all the while slipping downwards towards the ground. Her vision got blurry as she whimpered and moaned, cradling her injured head. A tap on her shoulder startled her, causing her to jump rather quickly backwards, away from the thing that had touched her. Her green eyes went wide as her skin started to change, sprouting feathers all over her body. She growled as her face became longer and sprouted large fangs, lips folding back over them in a snarl. She dropped to all fours as the bones and organs inside her shifted, until she was fully shaped. She was now about as large as a small child, covered in light green feathers much like her skin had been, but with black stripes throughout it. Her long feathery tail swished behind her angrily, her large ears pulled back against her head, and her large wings pulled against her back.

Sami snarled at the man as she watched him carefully. He had tried to offer her something, and she could now see what it was. It had been a cloak. Presumably because she had been naked. In her village, they didn't wear much clothing. They knew what it was because they had to dress themselves whenever another village visited to trade. Other than that, they never dressed. She looked over the man cautiously, no longer snarling, ears perking up a bit in curiousity. She had spotted his multi-colored eyes.

((She is like a big, feathery flying wolf ^.^))
