~The Polkaris~

Ewa smirked and rolled her eyes.  "Van!" she said more sharply.  She raised her hand and snapped twice near his eye.  It might have worked better right in front of his face, but there wasn't much space left between him and Rathien and Ewa didn't know that she wanted to interfere there.  "Eyes off the pretty man for a minute.  Jeeze, I didn't think you'd be.... did you drug him?" She shot a glance up at Rathien.  "Van, listen here.  Strange woman.  Outside.  Wants to talk to you.  Claims to be from the Urtahn."  Ewa raised her eyebrows and gave him that expectant, pushing look that "patient" teachers tend to reserve for their habitually thick students.

Vogefac

Vogefac nodded, "So...is anything of consequence in the works? Do you know of any missions that might be available? While I am here, I may as well avail myself of the rich adventurous goings on of this location.", he smiled, remembering...

"Oh, pardon me, I meant to inquire of Bear and John. Have they been...well?"

Catie

Catie stared longingly into the ship until she finally just sat down criss-cross with her arms folded over her chest. She sighed...

Al smiled at the man that'd arrived with Sami. "No offense intended, of course. Every culture has its own taboos. It looks like I just crossed yours. Won't happen again." He winked at Sami, "Though I hardly think 'bad impressions' qualify as 'criminal impersonation.' As for the 'android,' that's me also." He gave a quick, halfhearted glance around the bar for Rathien, then dimmed the hologram of his face as he'd done for Zorish. The result was that his grinning Chee face was visible through the now-transparent version of his normal, also-grinning face.

"It just means that I'm an artificial construct, basically." He shrugged and raised his hologram to full strength again, so that his face returned to its normal, smirking self. "No big thing, really. I imagine I'm a good go-to guy for AI questions, though," he said to Sami with a smile.

He turned to Keshin and nodded, "Yeah, I know how that goes. We went through a period where laser-proof toilet paper was all distributed by one company. They wanted about an arm and two legs a roll. It was awful. Luckily, when stuff starts to catch on, you start to see more imitators, and competition drives the price down. Now we can TP Verrim warships for next to nothing." He grinned, "Hopefully the same thing'll happen with you guys' medicine soon. It sounds like a far more important type of purchase to make."

"And yeah, don't get yourself almost-killed again. It's awfully nerve-wracking when you do that. Plus, y'know, you're cool." He feigned shyness, turned away slightly and looked down at the floor, looked at Keshin sidelong, and batted his eyelashes. "I don't like it when you get hurt."

Salem took a deep breath to steady his nerves a bit and closed his eyes. He was beginning to understand where this was going to go... or so he thought. From what Mar was saying, this mostly involved a paradigm shift. The seeing of something not normally visible to mortals. It sounded like mastering it might be rough, but maybe that paradigm shift would be all he'd need.

He swallowed and nodded, "Extend away, highest. I'm curious to see these 'tendrils' of yours."

Sami gasped as Al let his hologram down for a moment. Her hand shifted under her cloak, but before she could reach up to touch him, his hologram was back up. She smiled and nodded. "On my planet, I lived in a small village dedicated to magic. Which I don't have the fondest memories of, and don't like all that much. Sorry, Larry." She turned and gave him a smiall smile, patting his knee apologetically. Then she turned back to Al." But there are huge cities in the wide open places. Cities where technology dominates, and there are AIs everywhere. They halp the people with their day to day lives, and its so easy for them to live." She sighed longingly, a hand drifting from her cloak to push back some long hair from her face, revealing her knee and shin through the cloak. "I've just always fancied technology and what it could do for my village. Make harvesting crops easier. Obtaining water easier. And we would be able to defend ourselves from the beasts in the forests...."

<I can't say I know what they're up to. I believe they left, and I haven't been in contact. As far as what has been going on...I'm not sure if you can help. My friend Efaen wants to join the Yeerk rebels because she would rather be with them than off the front lines. I'm not sure how I can ensure her safety as I care a lot for her, but there isn't much I can do. Her mind is made up, and I have to trust that Terenia won't find a way to enslave her again.> Claxter said.

<Otherwise I think it's been rather quiet. A few new people showed up, and I think I see Keshin over there. Since Terenia isn't inside Efaen, I wouldn't mind if the bounty hunter took her down. Zorish and Tamora are back, though I don't remember if you're familiar with them. Then there's this guy.> The guy he was refering to was Jocun, and he swiveled his stalk eyes towards him to indicate who he was talking to. Jocun just waved nicely.

At first Vogefac was able to keep up perfectly for a minute, and then...Terenia...Ke shin...Efaen...Zori sh...Tamora...

"I am unsure as to who these people are, but anyone who wants to join the yeerks simply to remain in combat is a fool."

Vogefac took to heart Claxter's words that he cared for Efaen, "Of course, my people are a warrior race. But there comes a time when there is no honor in combat. There is no honor when the motions of combat are not performed by you. When you add to that the fact itself that this Efaen would willingly give herself to a Yeerk..."

Vogefac looked at Jocun...he smiled slightly, and turned to Claxter again

Silver opened her eyes and groaned. The last thing she remembered was being unconcious on some odd planet. She sat up and held her head and looked around. Those trees......they looked familiar......the Space Bar!! How the hell did she end up here? and why? She stood up and headed out of the trees. Sure enough there was the bar and the ships. She wondered if any of the others were there and she tried to reach them with her mind.

<She says she will refuse infestation, but there would be little she could do to prevent it if they forced it on her.>

Claxter felt something odd, and scanned the room. <Do you feel that?>

When Al's face became invisible, Larry became terrified that he was an agent of Baal sent to kill him. However it was Sami's reaction that saved him from having to attack. She seemed to be interested in this being and from the way that she talked this was what she had been looking for earlier. This 'android' did not please him and in fact infuriated him because he was an abomination in his eyes.

Although Larry's people had been shunned for being able to manipulate the nature around them, They had always had a great respect for the nature around them. This being went against the laws of that nature by being what appeared to be a mechanical being. The very existence of this being cut him more deeply than any blade ever could. He needed to get away from him immediately before he made a rash decision to attack this being.

Larry leaned over to whisper in Sami's ear so Al wouldn't hear him. "I'm sorry Sami, but this being makes me very uncomfortable. I will therefore wait by the bar while you continue to talk with Al. Is that all right?" Larry asked.

Sami's smile falered a bit when Larry expressed his being uncomfortable. But she understood. It must be like the feeling she got around him at first. But now she had warmed up to him. She hoped Larry would warm up to Al at some point, but apparently that wasn't today. She turned to look at him and nodded. "I understand. It's all right."

Sami got a tingling sensation down her spine that someone was trying to talk to her. She let her eyes roam the bar slowly, but didn't seem to find the source. She just had the urge that someone, somewhere, was trying to call to someone else. She wasn't sure if it was for her or not, but she could sometimes feel what others couldn't. She shrugged off the feeling and turned her attention towards Al again.

Larry immediately stood up after Sami told him that he could leave and went to the bar. He was about to order when he looked to his left and saw what he thought to be an illusion. It appeared to be an Elf, but not the one he saw earlier that had helped him. It was a female Elf that was sitting all by herself and seemed to be lost in thought.

Larry was in awe that these creatures actually existed and the fact that this was the second he had seen made it seem unreal. If she was not so lost in thought Larry would attempt to talk to her, but he did not wish to disturb her. The legends of Elves were well known as great and wise forest folk. He decided to sit on a stool near the elf and wait until she was through with her internal thoughts.

<Silver? I can hear you! You're back?> Claxter said. She sounded rather weak, so he excused hiself and walked outside to look for her. After a bit of looking around, he saw her within sight of the building and began trotting towards her. <There you are. Are you ok?>

Using her mind hurt at the moment so she swapped to verbal once someone walked up. "Claxter? I don't know what haooened....the last thing I remember was I was with Vogefac and Thor and the Doc, when I was taken - yet again - and the last I seen, they were in trouble and then.......black... ..with a splitting pain to my head. When I woke up I was in the woods....." she winced and placed a hand to the back of her head.

Jade Tear gave a sigh as she decided to join the present instead of floating through her thoughts. She still didn't know this place well enough to be too distracted. She decided while she sat there, she would take off her cloak. The gown she wore underneath had no sleeves and was a pearl white color. It had a tight bodice and a long loose skirt.

Larry noticed that the Elf was removing her cloak and was mesmerized by her beauty. He had heard about the perfection of Elves, but like most of his kind he did not truly believe they existed. Larry looked over at Sami, who was still talking to Al and realized that while this creature had perfect beauty, she could not compare to the exquisiteness of Sami. He felt compelled to introduce himself to the Elf. He stood up and slowly approached the table.

Larry formed a triangle with his fingers in front of his chest, bowed and said, "Excuse my lady, but would you perhaps be an Elf? I have heard legends of these beings and you seem to resemble what the legends describe. If you are not an Elf than I extend my humblest apologies and will no longer disturb you my lady." in a respectful tone of voice.
