I all seriousness, they saw how popular it still was, and decided to see if it could be a hit with the next generation as well. And there's a good chance that if the rerelease does well, we might get a sequel.

Really? ...I don't think I want a sequel. I'd rather we got a new TV show or movie if the re-release does well.

Which I feel begs the question:
Does anyone know how the re-release is going?
Or are we going to have to wait X months after 6 is given broad release to find of if they keep going or not

its.probably not going that bad. On hirac delest, it says that #7 & 8 are also being re released

I think they should advertise them better. Unless you're already a fan of the series and regularly look stuff up about it then the re-release is gonna be relatively unknown.

personally i like the old covers better. I'm guessing that part of the reason that the books are now more expensive is the cover

I agree that the old covers look better...

The only addition that I liked was the background watermarked image of animals like a fingerprint, feathers, fur and all that.

yeah, the fingerprints and stuff like that are awesome, but if they're going to do all 54 books, then it'll get hard to decide what to put on the background towards that last few books if they don't want to repeat anything

I'm not sure which I like better...the holographic stuff is cool too.

I didn't realize the price went up. Isn't it also because prices of everything keep going up?

I'm yet to see the cover in person so I don't really have a fully educated  opinion on the holographic part of the cover but from the look of the static pictures and that one gif in this thread I have to say I prefer the originals. That said, given the nostalgia with witch I regard the series it probably wouldn't mater how good the re-issue covers may be.

Meh, I like the new holos, but I miss the cool quotes and the cool insert pictures just after the cover. They were like an inside look as to what to expect of the book. Also I hope that they move on to full body holos, that'd be even cooler.

I think the watermarks would be good to use to help identify at quick glance who's narrating the book. Though as long as they design the future watermarks on the animal in the holo, they should do well in not repeating marks.
