ahh dammit.

I just hit that link I scrolled down and saw the contest thing.
My first thought was that dumb, it's probably for kids, and I don't write well anyway.

Then I thought, well the topic is certainly up my alley, maybe, just maybe....
then I saw the age limit
and thought dammit! Not fair

oh well.

Looking at the back of my #8, and Ax's eating advice: I wonder if any of the reprints will include bookmarks or decals or any of the fun stuff that was thrown in now and again

This is possibly the wrong place to ask this, but it was the most likely thread I could find. I'm out of the loop on the re-releases, so I had a few questions I wanted to ask.

1) How many are out now and how many more are announced as definitely coming out?
2) Do we have any idea how well they've been selling?
3) Where can you FIND these, like an in-store situation? I can't for the life of me find them anywhere.
4) For that matter, how come Scholastic's book orders don't ever seem to have them? I work for a teacher who gets me the book orders but I haven't seen a one yet.
5) Also, out of curousity, do the re-release copies keep the flipbook morphing, or is it just the morphable cover now?

1) #1-5 have been released, six is set to come out in March, and word is 7 and 8 are supposed to come out. Don't know where MM1 is in that line up
2) Don't know
3) I have seen a very few in stores, and even that wasn't in this country, but seeing how so many book stores are going under I think you'll be lucky to find them. Online orders around through.
4) Because they don't love Animorphs like we do
5) No more flip book, or inside cover pic. That made me sad

2) Yeah, we don't know any actual numbers for sales, but one would have to assume they're selling about as well as Scholastic was hoping. Otherwise, I don't think they'd continue releasing the series.
3) I work at a Barnes & Noble. We've been receiving all of the books, but there is no special display or advertising of any kind being done for them in-store. You have to seek them out in the Young Adult Fiction or Young Adult Fantasy section under Applegate, safely tucked away where only fans will likely find them.

I dunno if only fans would find them. The local bookstore in my home town has quite a few of each, so if you're browsing that section at all, they'll stand out just from the sheer number of them.

About question #2, well, when I bought one of the books, the person selling them told me that they were quite popular. I think she means the re release, but I can't be sure. I asked how many were sold, but I don't think she heard me (you see, I'm pretty shy and quiet) but you can ask someone who sells them

If you're in the US, check Target. They have them. IDK about Walmart and I never saw any at Kmart. And yeah, Barnes and Noble.

I have had no trouble finding them. I have seen the relaunch books at Walmart, Zellers, Coles (Chapters), etc, and even at Shoppers (pharmacy store). I live in a small Canadian town, so I don't see why bigger cities wouldn't be carrying them. Ask your local bookstore to custom order it if they don't have it in stock, or try online sites like Amazon and the official Scholastic Store. You can even get them as official ebooks now for the Kindle and Nook.

Um, sorry to side-track this discussion a little but I have a question about the relaunch. I heard that there will be minor changes to some stories. Please how true is this? And does anyone have an idea of what was re-written? Thanks.

Small changes been made like how characters in the first run were mistakenly the wrong morph for a line or  (ex: originally in book 3 Marco is mistakenly in a bald eagle morph; it is properly an osprey in the reprint), rules of thought-speak and familiarities between characters are smoothed out, and things to neutralize 90's specific references are added: generic game console rather than sega, DVR in common use and VCR's still owned but acknowledged as outdated.

But no real changes in plot are occuring. Least not yet

Thanks RYTX. I also noticed little errors about Jakes's Tiger morph. First it's Siberian Tiger, then it's Bengal Tiger etc..... Glad to know there won't be changes to the plots.....yet.

It looks like the Itunes thing is possibly the first 5 books, but I'm still staying away...it's confusing anyway. The small icon in the Itunes store is the new cover, but the bookshelf shown has the old covers on the books. And I can't tell if it's in English since the description isn't in English.
