Well, as far as the covers go, they DO do the job of grabbing people's attention. A friend of mine was over, and I had the new books facing outwards on my book shelf. When she passed by them, she did a double take, then exclaimed "Holy crap, hollographic covers that actually WORK?!"

Naw. Pretty much all books are more expensive now. It's been ten years. All the full size paperbacks that used to be 7.99, for instance, are now 9.99

those changes aren't so bad. it might be better actually 'cause they're fixing the spelling and grammar mistakes and now the references are easier to understand w/out being completely changed

Exactly, inflation would have priced the books exactly as they are right now. The books were $4.99 U.S/$5.99 CAN when the series ended, so they would still have been $6.99 U.S/$7.99 CAN now.

The only thing they probably did was cut the extras, like the flipbook animation, to meet the cost of lenticular printing at that price range. And with so much effort being put into the animated morphing covers, it doesn't make sense to have flipbooks as well. So I can see why they dropped them.

Since I have all the old books anyway, I don't see this change as a bad thing. The lenticular morphing covers/edits and updates give me more of a reason to pick up the new versions.

hahaha, my school's internet blocker doesn't block RAF, but it blocks Hirac Delest because it is apparently categorized as "games". *shakes head* So weird.

Why is the re-release book one 14.99 on Itunes when the hard copy books are only like 7.99? They're robbing us digitally!

I'm looking at the back of book 8, and I wonder if they're going to do things like add bookmarks and decals and such this time around.

Target has the books now, I saw them yesterday :) I just am not sure I can see getting them when there weren't any huge changes from the copies I already have.
