See I can't seem to order from Scholastic website itself. I tried ordering The Message, was billed for it... Never came. So... To Amazon I go.

I know I am! I've e-mailed and tried calling their billing department. But for them they don't see the actual order so I have to go to physically go into my bank account, find the statement, print it, then SCAN IT with proof that it is me, and send it to them.

Problem??? I'm in the hospital. AWAY from my scanner. Can't really do anything til then.

So far, the only thing they made more modern was a refference to DVRs, and poking fun at one of the characters still having a VCR. I'm pretty sure the only reason they did this was because most kids reading the book wouldn't know what a VCR was.

Other than that, any other outdated refferences were more "neutralised". Like for example, instead of saying Jake had a Sega, they say he has a gaming system.

Nope. Admitted. Been in here since last Tuesday. I have bowel obstruction of my small bowel and a bad infection within the obstruction. Might have to be transferred to Atlanta for surgery.

I just hope the re releases keep coming. I'm sad the library I work at didn't get them. I saw them at a bookstore, but only really want the ones I'm missing from my set.

I recall one changed reference...Rachel's nickname was changed to Storm, probably since Xena was from so long ago.

Where is the storm reference(s) in the reprints?

Jake does call her Storm in book 1 of the original prints-page 4- and the earliest I found the Xena reference is book 6.

Interestingly it's when Jake says that's what Marco refers to her as, but I couldn't find it up till then

That strikes me as a fairly substantial change if the series does get farther than the first six books- Rachel's called "Xena" in the series a huge number of times

This argument again?

We have absolutley NO confirmation that her nickname will be changed long term. The website says her nickname is Storm, because until book six, that's really the only nickname we see for her. So it's completely possible that the website is just waiting for the nickname to come up in the books (book 6) before mentioning it on the site.

Yes. I say EVERYONE just breathe until we get to books 8 or 9 because a lot of culture references seem to come up when we start into the double digits.
