When Parker said nothing to the effect of a major engagement resulting in victory, Vogefac nodded knowingly.

"We've gone through several transgalactic wars. One of the deadliest was the Kqorri war....a race almost equal to us in technological power, and superior in all biological ways except intelligence. A very old race  from the Andromeda Galaxy...the Battle of Aurkawzen was incredibly incapacitating. 10 motherships were taken out, not to mention the 20+ scout shops and fighters. One included the RIMS Kirojenaa, Prime Sovereign Kikulon's ship. The oldest veteran in the Military...died so anticlimactically. All fire was focused on his ship. We tried hard to draw their fire, but like pack quix'torr they picked a target and stuck with it. Kikulon went down quick. In fact he was the second mothership to be destroyed...we lost the Aurkawzen sector that day. In fact, it's the only place where the Kqorri still thrive..."

The Commodore shook his head, "But Kikulon deserved to die in battle. And not to the weakest of foes either. He'd made a celebrated name for himself, and it was a glorious way to go. All those people gave their lives for the survival of the Reptilinod Authority. It's what they wanted."

Vogefac took a bite of his vlethath, and a sip of his Rev'maak ale.

"But, then there was the time we kidnapped the leader of the Alliance right out from under their noses!", he laughed hardily, "Now that is a tale to tell..."

He noticed Parker focusing on Silver, "But uh...perhaps you'd rather hear that another time. You probably want to talk to your...friend, is it? A very close friend. You did "kiss." ", Vogefac looked at Artemis.

Parker had let the tear trail stay as he replied to Vogefac, " Unfortunately we haven't had any major victories. The biggest victory we've had is to slow their invasion. No matter how far we get pushing them back on the ground in battle, they always glass the planet from orbit. I've heard of some of my kin making major progress; but the battles I've been in were not as glorious."

Parker registers the new entry as he sits at the bar and speaks to a woman near their table. He sees his dangerous appearance, and contemplates replacing his helmet upon his head. He sweeps his elongated hair to the back of his head as he speaks to Vogefac, " I don't mean to be rude but I just feel safer with this on my head right now." He nods toward the dark blue being with the visor to illustrate is comment.

With his helmet now fastened to his head, he adjusts his speakers to a comfortable volume before continuing,"Besides, I'm sure it won't be long before some fight breaks out." He looks to Vogefac with the cold hard stare of his helmet's amber-tinted visor. Though his helmet's visage looks harsh, there is no malcontent in his voice.

He glanced at Silver at Vogefac's comment, "She's busy with her family right now. I've waited a year to see her, I can wait a few more minutes."

Vogefac nodded. He said nothing about the depth of their relationship when Vogefac suggested it...but Vogefac relents and assumes the obvious fact that the two are lovers.

"I had a J'kiira'duki at one time. That may be described as a fiance...her name was Serelav. I am still uncertain as to what happened, but back when I was still a Lieutenant Colonel, she left me. She did not describe any reasons for her departure, other than she felt our relationship was no longer prudent."

He thought for a moment, then laughed espite himself, "I named my last ship after her. My brother renamed it on an escapade for glory, but I kept the name. Reptilinod are not supposed to keep their minds in the past. It is drag to the lift of my career. So, I named my new ship Zetylon as well."

Parker nodded in understanding. The subject of conversation was fairly odd for a warrior. He asked, "Is something weighing on your mind? You seem to be rather centered on relationships for a warrior. You especially seem interested in my relationship with Silver. Is there a question you wanted to ask, that you feel uncomfortable asking?"

Salem watched with intense curiosity as Mar drained the energy from the Allstone. It was a substance that would take in all energy, and then slowly re-emit a portion of it over time. Salem didn't know how old that stone was, but it had to be at least a few dozen years. The amount of energy it could take in over that time period... had to be something ridiculous. Mar's 'harvesting' of it seemed to be something special indeed. Even without his newfound sense, he'd be able to see the fog that was, for a few brief moments, forming around the stone as it drew in heat and light energy from the air around it. To his sense, it was now no longer emitting energy, and seemed to be almost viciously drawing the tendrils to it, and almost eating them alive. It would draw in less and less energy as time went on, but for now, with it drained, it seemed to dominate the very aura of the ship. Mar might be able to use it again within a few hours, but the Highest might never get a charge from it quite like he had this first time.

Salem laughed, "Highest, even where I'm from, this kind of thing is... shall we say 'hard to come by.' The few people back home who may have heard of the stuff would probably consider it nothing more than a myth." When Mar mentioned the bar's "mischievous owner," Salem smirked. There might be some being behind the activities of this bar, it was true, but Salem saw no need to acknowledge it unless the being made itself known. Until then, there was work to be done. In spite of the aches all through his body from his 'lesson,' this trade had renewed his confidence. It seemed to have been a lucrative one all around.

"Alright, guys, I apparently have some people to find who wanted my help," Salem said to Al and Mar. "You guys care to accompany me back to the bar?"

He turned and walked down the ship's ramp, oblivious to the flashing red shape on the display he'd pulled up, which had recently approached the vessel, and was flagged as "non-visible."

Al rolled his eyes and followed, "Yeah, somebody'll have to point out the green girl and the quadruped for you. Not sure I trust your observational skills."

Lucan saw the recognition in Jades eyes right before she gasped. She remembers me Lucan thought to himself as he turned towards the bartender. "Excuse me kind sir, but do you remember how to make a Relnian Blizzard? If so, could you please make me one?" he asked in a respectful tone of voice. The bartender walked into the freezer and brought out a mug of dark blue glacial ice and set it on the bar. The bartender than added some clear 200 proof alcohol to the ice and a deep sun-red foam formed on top of the ice and the concoction began steaming from intense heat.

The bartender handed the drink to Lucan, who handed the bartender a gold cylinder, 10 silver pyramids and 3 bronze cubes. "Thank you, kind sir." Lucan said as he turned to look back at Jade. "You remember me now do you not?" he asked as he took a drink of the strange concoction. Lucans spots changed colors from dull pink, to blue as the ice, to red as the foam, back to dull pink as he looked at Jade.

~Ossanlin~

<Very well Efaen.  I hope you realize that this mission is more important than any differences we may experience between each other.>  He nods.  <Are there any other supplies you would desire before embarking?>

~Rathien~

Rathien runs his tongue over his fangs once again as Tobias and his android lackey descend the ramp.  The being he referred to as "Highest" was still in the vessel.  He grins as he crosses to Salem's left side, snugging his entroper back into its holster.  He wasn't sure of the power that the trader's explosive suit would put out, and he still didn't feel that it was time for Tobias's Dream to end, but he might get a little enjoyment if he could at least make Tobias squirm a little again.  Maybe the trader's voice would crack like it had earlier.

He falls in step right next to Salem and flicks a knife into his right hand, using his wrist-pad to modify the camo field to allow his voice to pass through.  "You really are begging me to do it aren't you?"  He sets his right hand on Salem's left shoulder as he speaks, the knife-point nearly touching the side of Salem's neck, and deactivates his camouflage blurring into view, his footsteps becoming audible again.

Vogefac is caught somewhat by surprise, "Well...a warrior is allowed a family, is he not? Besides, I was one of the first members of Delta Generation. The first 12, known as the Foretwelve, or Vex'Tite-Te are always implanted with an emergent gene; one that exceeds the rest. I was chosen to receive a sort of visionary gene, which gives me superior drive and ingenuity, as well as some personal effects, like aspirations to achieve such poetic goals as rearing a child, or finding a lover. There are times I feel I would have preferred the aggression gene, or even the diplomatic gene; there are times when I would not trade the visionary gene for anything...when it comes to relationships, I more often feel like I would rather have any of the other gene traits."

"Plus, the genes are implanted to make a better race. Whoever has the biggest family is the most successful gene carrier, and so there are more of his gene. I have not as of yet taken a mate...and I know for a fact that Generation Epsilon is already in planning, and all but two other Foretwelves have very large families; all of them have at least some family though."

Vogefac shook his head, "How different is your culture from average human culture?"

Mar's eyes widen in surprise, perplexed that he only noticed the aura of the creature a few seconds before it came into view next to Salem. Mar frowns, eyeing the newcomer carefully. He was...poisonous in some way, much like Mar himself. And quite dangerous. On principle the Highest did not trust people of this ilk: they were not easy to control.

"Do you have some kind of problem with my new...acquaintance?" stated Mar, his voice almost silky smooth. "I am not inclined to allow unknown quantities to waste opportunities like him. Salem has at present done nothing to those here but peddle his wares. What are you?"

Efaen shakes her stalks. <No, I believe that this will be sufficient,>> she says, relaxing her posture ever so slightly. <I am eager to be on my way and begin, truthfully.> She longs to take a step back, to pull away from Ossanlin and address him at a more comfortable distance, but she does not move.

Keshin frowns at the man's bizarre, incoherent statement. It was apparently in no language their translator understood, not even a human language. But in curiosity he begins to follow the stranger. It was pretty clear that he at least thought Keshin would know what he was saying. <Kandrona, this is insane. Why are we playing this game?>

<Beats me, idgit. You're the one movin' the limbs here. You that desperate for a break?>

<....apparently. Curiosity murders the Yeerk, mm?>

Keshin then nervously mutters, "Mmm...I do not understand you. Could you please speak in English, Yeerk, or Galard?"

Michael regards the mans question carefully. How can he not understand what I say? Unless the boot...

Michael concentrates carefully on each word. "M1- Mich...ael. My name... is... Michael. 1 am... un...familiar... with Y33rk and... Galard.... as... speech." The sentence comes out much more strained than it should, but should at least be comprehensible in english, hopefully. "1 need... a... dic...tion...ary... please."

I need to know how to talk if I'm going to know who I can trust. I must be reverting to code. It would make sense.

Salem jumped when Rathien appeared beside him. Hie spun, his hand going for the weapon in his holster, but even as he did so, he could see that it wouldn't do any good. If Rathien wanted to kill him here, there was nothing he would be able to do about it. This was twice now that the hunter had gotten the drop on him at this bar. By all rights, he should no longer be alive. He'd have to make sure it didn't happen a third time...

Al, in the meantime, stopped and stood, frozen, watching. At this point, he was almost definitely outed as being himself... that little charade had been nerve-wracking at best, so he wasn't exactly disappointed. He wouldn't be able to do much if Rathien made a move, but Rathien didn't need to know that. The Android did his best to look intimidating, changing his stance slightly to look ready for a fight.

Without taking his gaze from Rathien, Salem indirectly answered Mar's question, "Mar, meet Rathien. He's my personal shadow of death these days. Rathien, this is Mar." He kept his hand on his weapon and his eye on Rathien's blade. Chances were he wasn't fast enough to react if the Ildari attacked, but that wasn't going to stop him from trying. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught Al's attempt at a fighting stance. Not bad, he thought, smirking internally. But if he wanted me dead, I'd be dead already. He was, however, suddenly extremely grateful for the presence of both Al and Mar.

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin nods again and removes his hand, but doesn't step back.  <You cannot morph for at least five standard hours.  The chip will not be fully functional for at least ten, but the adaptation and implantation process will be safely finished within five.  Stay on the asteroid's surface and abide by the standards of an Andalite Warrior.  Keep yourself available but consider yourself otherwise on leave.>  He doesn't insult her further by asking if she has enough rations for the trip to the rebels...a Warrior would've requested them if needed.

~Rathien~

Rathien grins at the one called "Mar" as he speaks, baring his fangs.  He feels Salem react in a satisfying manner, the trader's shoulder moving out from under his knife-hand as he twists for his weapon.  Rathien flicks the knife back up under his vambrace and glances at Salem before looking back at Mar.  "I am Ildari, one known as Mar.  I detect that you do not enjoy my presence.  If by 'what' you meant 'who', then I am known as Rathien’d’ilarianiil fen’Mirwindrierien’or’Elienal sen’Ildar.  Or Rathien if you prefer."

He pauses and glances at Salem again, moving in to put an arm around the trader's shoulder.  "Oh I don't suppose Tobias here has been very forthcoming about his past.  It might ruin his image, isn't that right Tobias?"  He chooses to ignore Al.  It had been the well-dressed man after all.  The creature is unnatural...wrong.. .just as bad as those disgusting Chee, not to mention the thing had almost ended Rathien's Dream once.

Silver fiddled with her food more than she ate it. She more had a lot on her mind and was all ready sitting there zoned out when the edges of her vision blackened slightly. She swayed a little but didnt notice it.

Parker says, "You're avoiding my question. Is there a question you would like to ask me, that you feel uncomfortable asking?

Parker notices Silver swaying slightly, he reaches over to hold her shoulder and asks, "Silver, are you okay?"
