I think it should be more animal-esque (is that the right term?), or more obvious that she's becoming an animal. That specific one does look that way, yeah, but think about a cover with Jake becoming a tiger or Cassie halfway to wolf? With a single image like that, you could afford to make it a really good halfway shot, rather than the what-the-heck-is-that pictures that happen before and after on the old and new covers. Rather than showing the transition, it's a still that shows them only partway through morph. That could be really cool and really freaky at the same time, which I think would/could do the series justice more than the covers they're going with.

Why are them so much against Animorphs?!

Yeah, the thing about animorphs is the covers and the premise make it sound babyish, but its better than it sounds!!

This is part of what annoys me about the new covers; in my opinion they look childish. (Moreso than the old ones ^^) I started reading the series in 4th grade and I'm pretty sure I would have been embarrassed to be seen carrying these covers around.

I like it, but it's true, it needs to be more animal-esque... and maybe with more emotion and technology... but it's a good idea.
The old covers already look childish, at least in French... ^^' but well... so many adults read Harry Potter and things like that now, that it isn't so much a problem.

     Excited for the re-release. The covers...I am not a fan of the side-side morphing thing; looks plain old tacky to me. Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer the old look of the books--in fact, my only problem with the designs were the choices of animals they were morphing. I think they chose way too many "woodsy" morphs for the books, which sort of makes the series look "childish" to those kids who "judge books by their covers."

     Not gonna lie. I would TOTALLY buy the fan-made cover. I like the look of the girl, and think they could make the other Animorphs look just as good. Personally, I don't care if it doesn't show the sci-fi aspects. When I first saw a cover for the Animorphs, I thought fantasy, not sci-fi. I've been waiting around for a cover for the Encounter (new one that is). I've never been much of a fan for Marco and Cassie, but Tobias is like the "deal-breaker" for me. Screw that up...well, you won't lose a customer, because I'm really psyched for reading the Animorphs again. But you'll get an embarrased customer; who either has the book delivered to him, or hides the book in a couple of bags.

     Ha! Something tells me that they changed the last few books to 2011 because of all the RIFF-RAFers on the forums See, fanboys anf fangirls can make a difference.

     Why is the Jake cover model blonde!? Do we REALLY neeed more blondes in this series?

The "last two books" should be #5 and #6. #6 will still have to come out in 2012. It's not that big a difference.

And I really doubt we had anything to do with that.

The previous schedule had #4 in October, and #5 in January. So they have been bumped up to be released a month earlier, which will have the first 5 Animorphs released in 2011 now. I'm guessing the 6th book will be bumped from April to February in 2012 if they are releasing them every other month.

I know I'm not a mod, but I made the thread. So, sure I will. I was actually thinking of changing the title, so thanks for reminding me.
