"Alright young man, thank you." Her father replied. "Oh, I had you looked up on 411. I'll get off the phone now and look up how to disable the GPS on your phones.  You have a nice evening."

"Wait how did you know to look me u-"he was cut off by Alice's father hanging up the phone... Something wasn't right here... he believed that Alice and company were good, or something, but they were... strange, peculiar, being able to call a cellphone that is turned off, and knowing to call him because he was near Alice.... he never knew Alice personally until today... and wasn't her father at home on his computer, because she did tell him to tell her father to get off of it... none of this added up. However Damien kept his questions quiet... however his suspicion showed slightly on his face, like he knew something was wrong. "I'll ask later..."he muttered a bit louder than he intended. Now didn't seem the best time.

"You all sound like lovely people. Full of conviction. Young immigrant from another country, I do hope that you've found peace for the accident that occured.
I want you to understand that this isn't something to take lightly, children.  The fight you are entering has the stake of humanity at its center.  Not just your girl friend, not just your friends and family - but billions of peoples lives will depend upon you.

Please search your souls on the route here to decide if that is something you can live for - better yet, something you can fight for.  The Gift will be waiting if you choose to accept it."

On Chee - net, Alice was contacted with the address of a 'safe house' that would function as her own, complete with Jenny and a set of parents. It was here that the Box would be waiting.

Alice begun to lead the group there and the trip would only take a few minutes drive by car.

Too lost in thought to even speak, Autumn stayed silent, which was a usual habit of hers, especially around a group of people she didn't know too well. "Jenny, my name is Autumn. I live alone, I left my parents after, I don't want to get into that now. I'm alone now, but I'm a fighter. I never give up. With friends, that loyalty and strength increases. We cannot let those Yeerks win. I won't let them. Oh and I'm good at making plans, and, I think thats it." Autumn relayed, feeling a little light headed, following Alice silently.

Brit watched Alice and Autumn as they walked away to the safe house. he was having something of a moral dilemma. He could help these people save the world or he could ignore them all and go home. Home now where was that again? England was a very long way from here, but did he really feel at home here eather? He sighed and shook his head. This is happening way to fast he thought. But these yeerk things... someone had to stop them. He made his decision.

"Hay wait up", he shouted running after them. "And its Brit, not Young immigrant from another country!!"

Reece followed, hanging uncharacteristicall y near the back of the group. He tried to make sense of the phrase "billions of people." The billions reminded him of his friends at school- a faceless mob of strangers, the kind you feel vaguely attached to, like an old jacket. It felt absurd to risk much of anything for an old jacket, let alone one's life. He thought about Sandra. He thought about the last person he drove away from, and wondered if he'd do it again. He hoped he'd wake up back in the old world in the morning.

Kasey walks next to Reece, silently following the group. She mulls over what Jenny said, unsure of whether or not she's strong enough to do this, but knowing that she needs to. Losing another family member to, well, to anything was unacceptable. When her sister had been killed last year, her family had begun to fall apart. Her mother became distant, working almost double the normal amount of hours. Her brother had decided to go to college on the other side of the country, and hadn't been home since his move. Her father had insisted on moving on with life, as if nothing had happened, forcing them all to keep up the "poster family" pretense during his mayoral campaign. Kasey had already lost the family she had known. She wasn't willing to let go of what little she had left of them.

Kasey knew couldn't do anything to help her sister, but this was the perfect opportunity to do something to help everyone else she knew. Regardless of what the others decided, Kasey knew she would fight for as long as it might take.

Alice:

As we started to move back toward the car park, I 'morphed' back into the 20-something lady to push Eddie's wheelchair. When I asked him if he had sat-nav, he quickly produced one from his pocket to show me. I quickly programmed it with the location of the house we were to meet Jenny, and handed it back to him. He didn't even ask how I knew how to program a sat-nav I'd never seen before, let alone using the GPS coordinates instead of street-address, for which I was thankful. - Any time I can avoid a direct lie is a good time, especially in the case of this boy who like plain-looking Alice so much.

Kasey had already asked about the list with our names on it. I did not answer straight-away because I didn't like the idea I'd come up with for getting it back. Instead I waited to see if anyone would come up with a better idea, including my fellow Chee.

In response to Reece's question about surveillance cameras in the car park, I answered:

"I didn't see any cameras when I looked earlier... But I'll double-check before we all go waltzing through it this time around."

Over Chee-net I added {Could someone hack the DMV and make sure Eddie's license plate can't be traced back to him or his address? It might also be a good idea to back-trace anyone who tries to track his plates... We don't want Yeerk-controlled police pulling us over.}

Nearly everyone had spoken to Jenny now, only one or two remained silent including wet-hair girl. I left my cell on speakerphone, just in case they'd only been waiting their turn to speak.

There was an idea about us returning to this building when we could all morph, and getting the list out then, but there was a quicker way:

"I suppose... I could try and sneak into the building myself, to retrieve that list..." I suggested. A single person would be less likely to be detected sneaking around than a whole group, especially if that group were in fighting-morphs. It was quite scary to think of going alone into an enemy building, knowing I might be captured, but it did make sense to try and get that list as soon as possible. Also, if I was alone, I wouldn't have to try so hard to pretend I could morph... Besides, if all went well a piece of paper was easier to remove from the building than a person.

To change the mood slightly, along with the subject, I followed my idea with the question: "So who wants to take the first trip with Eddie, and who wants to wait with me for the second trip?"

Damien had followed the others, trailing behind. However he caught up with the group in time to hear Alice's question, who now appeared to be a 20 year old women. "I'll wait,"he said quickly, maybe then he could ask the questions without interrupting to much. He knew something was up, these circumstances didn't make any sense, mainly his suspicion was around the phone call that he had received from Alice's father. He tried not to show his suspicion on his face but it was difficult, some of it slipped through his 'mask'.

"Alice, are you crazy? If you get caught you'll get your ass killed, and if you get your ass killed the rest of us are pretty much kaput," Reece argues.

"I agree with Reece for once", Brit nodded. "You going back into the building is too much of a risk at the moment. Besides the list had loads of names on it how can they tell who's is who's. Even if everyone in the building was err 'Yeerked'. I bet a few people didn't show". He ran a hand through his hair. "It will take ages to check to see if anyone who saw us, recognises the us amongst the people who where no-shows".

"But if your determand to stay and risk you life for the list let me go with you".

"Cool yer again, i agree with Reece. That could work!!". Brit then frowned. He had agreed with Reece twice within a minute. He checked his pulse, maybe he had lost more blood than he had thought....

Reece grinned. "The whole world is going crazy around us. Of course we're beginning to seem sane."

"I'll go, or I can wait. I don't really care when I go." Autumn offered. If she had to wait for the second trip, no biggie. "A fire alarm may work. Better than going in and being around them all right? I mean, even half clearing out the building is better than nothing." Autumn shrugged, not really having much else to offer at the moment, her mind spinning with thoughts.
