Elayne passes quite a number of individuals on her way back to the Bar, including three Andalites. She has not realized there are so many present on the planetoid. If you don't hurry, there may be one fewer present in a moment, she reminds herself and speeds her pace into a jog. Once inside, it does not take much effort to find the battered white metal case, considering how much the Bar has cleared out. She crawls halfway under a table to snag it from the place where it is lodged, straightens, and turns to leave. In the timing of their respective rushes, she entirely misses Mar.
Tora swivels an eyestalk towards Myitt as she worries aloud. <It is probable we will find them soon, considering--,> she begins to say, but she cuts herself off as a Hork Bajir approaches them rather quickly.
Just after he begins speaking to Myitt, however, Tora is entirely distracted by a young Andalite female running past them, not fifty feet away, followed by an Andalite male. At this, Tora backs away towards the forest, all four eyes wide. She is stunned that neither Andalite has seemed to have noticed her, and she wonders how grave the trouble ahead must be for her to entirely escape both their notice. Whatever it is, she is momentarily grateful. Hidden in the relative obscurity of the forest, she morphs back to human, watching the Hork Bajir speak with Myitt from afar behind the cover of alien foliage.
Careless! she berates herself. It will not do for any of them to know who she is or for whom she has been working for the past seven years. She rarely thinks about the bounty on her head, but right now, it's on the forefront of her mind.
