Ossanlin's feeble leg movements are quieted by Thordon's actions, but his instincts tell his delirious, unconscious mind that he's being restrained...there's pain...he has to do something...even with unconsciousness, Ossanlin's sub-conscious fights the restraint.  His fur ripples silver a couple of times in reaction.  His breathing quickens and several hard hacks followed by a sickening gurgling sound issue from his breathing slits.  His tail twitches a bit and every time his fur flashes silver, it gives a more substantial thrash.  He remains mostly unconscious and his few moments of consciousness are filled with random eye-movements and delusional thought-speech.

Parker saw the tail begin to twitch. He knew Ossanlin didn't like being held down, and his body would try to clear whatever was binding him. By the time the blade came thrashing toward him, he had let go of Ossanlin's front legs and snatched the tail mid-air. He exclaimed to Salem, "Salem, talk to him, get him to come around."

((Salem's real name is Tobias. Only Thordon was in the vicinity when that was expressed. He said his name was "To-Salem" to Parker, so Parker also knows that "Salem" isn't his real name, but he respects his want to keep it secret.))

Terenia regains control of her host almost as quickly as she lost it, ceasing Efaen's attempts to get nearer to the damaged War Prince. Instead she stands, rooted to the spot, as a stranger Terenia did not know issued orders. She jerks in surprise when he tells her to go find something to support Ossanlin's back. Her first reaction is to do just that. She steps back a few paces before realizing that it is not her desire obeying the stranger, but Efaen's. She halts again.

<<What good does saving the Andalite's life do me?>> Terenia asks Efaen, <<He is the primary reason that I am stuck on this rock.>>

<<You cannot just watch him die!>> Efaen protests, but Terenia is already looking around for Keshin, her primary target. Seeing that he is conspicuously missing from the group assembled she steps back once more, torn between watching the mad dash over saving Ossanlin's life and disappearing back into the forest.

<<Demorph at least!>> Efaen pleads.

<<What good will that do?>> Terenia scowls, <<You want me to decapitate him and end it quickly? Because I assure you my Dracons would be quicker.>>

<<He needs Andalite reassurance,>> Efaen snaps, <<Perhaps that will be enough to rouse him, to allow him to demorph.>>

<<And you think humans are superstitious?>> Terenia snorts in disdain, crossing her arms over her chest as she gazes down at Ossanlin. She is about to turn and walk away, abandoning the situation for good, when Efaen speaks up again, her voice desperate.

<<I will not allow you to return to me,>> Efaen snaps, <<You know that whether Ossanlin is alive or dead it will come to that. To the rebels allowing me to choose if I want your vile presence. I will refuse.>>

"Dapsen," Terenia curses under her breath, her scowl deepening as she sees the truth to Efaen's statement. She does stomp off this time, but she only goes a short way, back to the tree line, shuffling around until she finds a relatively large log. With a heavy sigh she demorphs to her Andalite form, using her tail blade to carefully slice off a large slab of bark. It is slightly curved, not entirely flat, but it is close enough for her. She bends to pick it up, but the slab is too heavy for her weak Andalite arms. She curses again, wrapping the slab around her tail and beginning to haul it back into the field, towards Ossanlin.

((will post for Tamora later....gotta go to work!))

Elayne nods in response to Salem's instructions and heads in the same general direction as Terenia. She is happy to get out from under the sounds of the skirmish, if even for a moment. The pitiful scene of a dying friend in the midst of a battle is all too familiar to her, and it's nothing she wants to relive. Still, Mar cares about Ossanlin, and it seems the other friends she is making in the Bar do too. It is worth her effort to try.

Near the forest's edge, she meets Terenia, who is heading back towards the bloody scene. "Do you need help? I can carry that if you'll find some straight sticks to use as a splint," she tells her.

Sproot, sproot, sproot! Tora's back two legs and tail emerge from her human morph, which is looking more like an Andalite by the second. Her internal organs rearranging themselves, she grabs onto the wall to keep her balance until all four hooves are on the floor. Her tail is still elongating, but she follows Myitt outside, knowing she will be fully demorphed by the time they reach the action. <Does he? That is interesting...> Tora remarks, regarding Corliss's affection for Terenia. She cannot fault Corliss for his feelings, but her brief encounter with Terenia had not given her the impression that she was someone the good-natured Corliss would like. She turns a stalk eye on Myitt, her main eyes straining ahead to make out what was going on outside, and asks, <Temrash?>

Joanne stares up at Al with a weary look, as if she's not entirely coherent. Her heart rate is at least slowing down to a more normal level by now, which means she isn't breathing as harshly as before. Well, normal for them anyway. Joanne glances at the bandage roll on the ground, winces in pain, and wraps it around the wound on her neck. She's not clear on how much good this is going to do, but it's the best she's going to get from a distracted android.

Joanne slowly attempts to pull her body up so that she's at least not sagging against a wall. Maybe they'll get a chance to talk to this guy, but for now the situation on his end seems a little bit too complicated.

Mar nods at Salem and darts up into the air, flying back towards the Bar to seek out the help that they need. He isn't precisely sure what Salem means by a four-armed doctor, but he's sure that he will probably find out. He is the only person who might be able to reach the Bar fast enough in range, after all.

Temrash wasn't sure what "playing chicken" meant, but now the ship was coming straight at him. He wasn't surprised that the pilot refused his offer, especially after the fighting and knowing he'd likely kill Keshin.

The shields were already at full, and he strapped himself to the chair and boosted the compensators. This fight was about to get real. He shot forward, straight at the enemy ship, and fired his guns at the front spot that he already shot two times earlier with a constant stream.

Gaz had finished her drink and said to Silver, "So, what do you want to do next?"

Gaz figured Andromeda would be waking any time now. Asda didn't think she would be out too long.

Silver bit her lip holding the device to her. She finally decided that she had to get it over with. "I think I'll see mother now." She said. "Also I want to see if Asda can figure out why I've been having these episodes...."

Salem watched, almost unsurprised, as Ossanlin flickered from blue to silver. He was glad of Parker's reaction times when he managed to catch the Andalite's twitching tail.

When Parker spoke, he raised an eyebrow at him and muttered quietly, "Talk to him? I think we went went to different schools of first aid." He paused for a moment before adding, "Good idea."

He looked at Ossanlin and said to him, <<Andalite. War Prince. Now's the time to morph.>> Outwardly, he said, "Andalites are not easy to keep from going into shock, especially with his neck injury."

He took off his jacket and began to tear more strips from the bottom, each tear causing the fabric to give off small sparks and tiny flashes of light. As he worked he began to quietly recite the words of the Andalite morning ritual.

"From the water that gave birth to us..."

***

Al jerked the controls and barrel-rolled out of the way of Temrash's stream of energy a split second before he'd even fired.

"You blinked," he muttered. Al continued to fly in an erratic, spiraling, jerking pattern towards Temrash's ship. When the beam did manage to hit his ship, the new shield seemed to vibrate and flutter for a split second before again becoming invisible.

"I think I'm wearing him down!" Al shouted to Keshin.

"This guy is just too good. I'm getting a bit old for this kind of dogfight." Temrash flipped a few switches, and his ship expelled some mines that would detonate if any ship that didn't fit his signature came close enough. Then he put the ship in overdrive, firing seeker missiles at regular intervals while trying to get close enough that his beams couldn't be dodged.

Parker heard Salem's mutterings, but decided to ignore them. He took his advice after all. He began saying some sort of ritualistic chant. It must be something close to the Andalites. At least it better be.

He looked up to check on Terenia once more. He saw her demorphed and dragging a section of wood back to help. He was glad that she didn't run, he wanted to help so her sticking around was a great thing.

<Fine.> Terenia says, letting the plank fall untethered to the ground. She doesn't mean to be cold with Elayne, who has never been cruel to her, but between her estranged sister's arrival, her relative imprisonment here at the bar, the awkwardness with Corliss and her arm being blown off she is not in the mood to be nice to anyone. She leaves the bark plank for Elayne to heft and instead scans the ground for smaller sticks. She finds a few relatively straight branches that are not too heavy and arranges them into a neat pile. Lifting them with minimal strain she begins to make her way back towards Ossanlin.

----

"Myitt will have her actions to answer to as well," Tamora says, "but you are wrong about my sister. She does not want my happiness, and I am not displacing my grief. Zorish's death was just another to add to the ever-growing pile. She is a menace, not just to me, but to all life. It does not matter if it is her hand that pulls the trigger. She is a catalyst for death."
