Salem nodded. "That 'Parker' said he wound up here by accident too. As for me, my Hope Drive malfunctioned. At least, I think it did. I'm not totally sure how it's supposed to work. I don't like using it, 'cause it has a tendency to send me to other universes. It also likes to drag other ships with me, but it usually gives me more time." He winced at the memory of the Yeerk cruiser appearing in this universe almost immediately behind him. He was used to having at least a few hours.

He happened to glance at the sky and caught sight of a white glow as that same cruiser left orbit, chasing the ship he'd sent. He smiled. If those Yeerks did come back here, it wouldn't be for some time. And maybe they'd be less forceful if they didn't think he was still here. As he watched it go, he said, "This is the first I've met anyone else who was aware of the existence of other universes since I left home."

Thordon nodded his head. "This place forces that information upon you. It seems to co-exist in every universe simultaneously. I'm uncertain as to how that is even possible. Until I came here, I had thought that there were only two worlds in existence. Then I had a vision of 14 other worlds, and then transported here. This has been quite a shock in such a rush of time."

Salem responded, "A vision... you're clairvoyant then? Or psychic? I'm hoping someone here will have a way to help me return home. Any chance you know how to work a Hope Drive?" he asked with sly smile.

She had an understanding light shine in her eyes when he tapped his helmet and then smiled to show she got it. He asked her over and she picked up her drink and walked over to sit beside him. "Better?" she teased with a small laugh.

(Sorry. I don't mean to vanish. The internet at home is flaky.)

"Well," said Gaz, "even if the CG is hot on our trail. I suggest we enjoy the quiet time. Especially after everything that's happened recently."

"No arguments here," replied Morgan. "We could use some quiet, that's for sure."

Fletcher, meanwhile, was sitting quietly. He was using his computer pad to check things with Cortex. Make sure there was nothing going on.

"Whether it's CG, The Empire, or something else, something will happen eventually. Just enjoy the peace, and don't get caught too off guard when something happens. Around here it's just a matter of when, and not if." Temrash said to the group.

She finished eating and then sipped at her drink until it was gone. She looked around the crowded bar and decided she needed to step outside for some air. She would have a little problem with crowded areas for a little while. She stood up, dusted her pants and then slipped out the door for a little bit.

Thordon shook his head. "No I am not psychic. My element is Energy. I can control Energy at will. I received a vision through meditation. I am an ascended being. What you see before you is merely an avatar. If your 'Hope Drive' requires energy, I can recharge it." After a few moments, Tohordon asks, "Is your ship near?"

Parker said, "Quite. Not thaat I don't mind signing, new as it is to me, but I miss hearing your voice." Parker blinked rapidly inside his helmet, What the...'Miss hearing her voice'? That wasn't the reason. Why did I saay that? ... Well, her voice is pleasant. He shrugged off the thought and retorted, "And it would be easy for others to eavesdrop in our conversation if we stayed so far away."

Salem gestured to the lake nearby. "Should be somewhere near the far bank. Just a sec."

He grabbed his small communication device from his belt and spoke into it.

"Al, can you tell where you are?"

Al's slightly metallic-sounding voice came back, "I'm underwater. That's all I know. I hope you have some way to get me out of here, because I don't think this junk heap'll start, and I know you'd hate for me to open the door and ruin your clothes."

Salem rolled his eyes. "Thanks, Al."

Turning back to Thordon, he said, "It's black. Like, extremely black. Should be pretty visible, even if it's managed to slide somewhere deep." He started walking closer the lake, looking for it as he went.

Thordon nodded and simply said, "Thank you." He closed his eyes and gestured with his bottom pair of hands. His hands began to glow a bright blue as they flew and danced in circles, overlapping, revolving, sliding, and swaying until he pushed his hands palms-down down towards the ground. He began to rise off of the ground and levitated upward lightly into the air. Once off the ground, he folded his legs and "sat" on the air 10 feet off of the ground, his hands still a vibrant blue. He turned his body and hovered over the lake searching for any signs of electric energy. Once he was certain that Salem could no longer see his face, Thordon smiled to himself. He knew as an ascended being he no longer needed to make the gestures to hover as he once did as a Sorcerer; but it was fun showing the culture and traditions of his people to others.

Once thordon felt the presence of great energy, he stopped and opened his eyes. Below him was a submersed ship. The calm lake gave him a perfect view of it. He let his legs down and stood as though he was about to push a brick wall over. He then lifted his glowing hands and began a new gesture, this time his bottom pair of hands were joined with his top pair. All four hands began to glow blue as they swam through the air, making grandiose circles around his torso, waving up, down, back, forth, left, and right. He then shot all four hands downward at the ship, his hands curled as though he was physically holding onto the ship's hull. His hands began to quiver slightly as the ship began to resurface. As it broke the water's surface, it began to rotate and right itself. Moments later, Thordon stood high above the lake with the ship below him, looking as though it were idling. Thordon then rotated his hands so that his palms were out in front of him and "pushed" the ship and himself to the middle of the bar's parking lot. Both Thordon and the ship then began to descend, the ship landed softly and Thordon lowered himself to the ground right next to it. As he hit the ground, his hands ceased to glow.

((Need someone for poor Keshin and Joanne to talk to now that Parker and Thordon are out. X3 Is anyone still inside? ))

Mar snickers, waving his hand as if dismissing her statement. "Heavens no, Elayne. The closest thing I have is the ability to mindread. And that is not normally functional in bodies like this one. Considering the level of interference wafting off this Bar, I doubt it would be possible even if I wasn't mortal."

"How exactly did you become proficient at ship repair anyway?" states Mar. "From what I heard you were a rebel leader, not an engineer. Did you pick it up along the way?"

((I think Parker's still at the table with Keshin, along with John and now Silver ;)))

Salem had turned to ask Thordon a question, but as he did so, he noticed his hands glowing. He was shocked for a moment, but then shrugged slightly. He stood, watching, with the hand that wasn't holding his folded cloak on one hip, as Thordon levitated his ship out of the lake. The ship was an elongated saucer, tapering out to a rounded point at the rear, and pinched to a sharp edge all the way around the middle. It was a bit larger than the Bug Fighters that had chased it here. It was colored a black so dark it was unnerving to look at. Aside from the three landing struts extending from the underside, it would have appeared completely featureless, if not for the fact that it was coated in a thin layer of ice. The sheen of the ice made a number of small seams visible, including a larger one near the front. There was no visible ****pit, however. The ship also had a number of small trenches running through it lengthwise.

Salem jogged to keep up as Thordon levitated the ship over his head and set it down in the bar's parking lot. He was grinning by the time Thordon touched the ground.

He laughed, walking up beside him. "So I guess that's what you meant by 'ascended being.' I was wondering. I'm very impressed."

Al's voice came over his communicator, "I really hope that was you."

"Well..." Trey frowns, faltering slightly, "I don't know. My dad never told me his full plan, only that it was important to get to the old homeworld. And...he wanted to get a morphing cube too, although I'm not sure why. It's not like it would work on him." Trey shrugs, looking at a loss.

---

Terenia smiles a bit, at the mention of growing tomatoes underground, but decides to respond to the first part of his statement instead, <You know, Star Wars always terrified me as a kid. My big brother would run around with his plastic lightsaber, trying to beat me upside the head with it. It was a blue one, too, so I always thought Luke was the bad guy.>

She falls into silence for a moment, still feeling slightly uncomfortable. Perhaps it is the way that the space seems so confined, or the fact that Efaen is still oozing smugness. Or maybe it's just because she is unarmed and, for once, feels unthreatened.

<You don't mind if I morph human, do you?> She asks, beginning the morph before he has a chance to answer. She hopes that the familiarity of the human body will help to straighten out her confusion. As she morphs she tries to follow some of Efaen's advice, as odd as that feels to her, and asks Corliss about himself, <Myitt and yourself. You are...rather close, aren't you? I didn't know Yeerk siblings ever got that close. There's so many, and all.> Once again Terenia feels that pang of guilt, knowing that if the Mirage fails to return it may be because of her.

Elayne's eyes widened slightly, and she laughed. "I'll have to remember to watch out if I ever meet you elsewhere, then."

Then she shrugged, tracing the rim of her beer glass with a finger. "I was a mechanic first. I always loved welding classes in school, and I enjoyed tinkering with engines and watching my uncle work--he was a car mechanic. When we moved to California, before the Yeerk War became public, I found an internship at an auto mechanic shop and improved my skills. Then after the war, we suddenly had access to all sorts of interesting technology and spacecrafts, which I studied."

She leaned back in her seat and shrugged uncomfortably. "I never thought of leading the Controller Rights movement as a job. It was just... something I did."

Thordon slowly shook his head, "Actually everyone on my planet would be able to do the same. Granted, it would take a number of people to lift your ship as I have, nor could they levitate as high. Though all Anarons can manipulate energy."
