Kevlin leaned against the wall in the hallway outside the room. He watched the dog who had trotted Into the ship and now was sitting scratching his ear near the door.

"And, for all Ossanlin's best intentions, you must know that I hardly want a Yeerk-hating Andalite living amongst my people," Reven adds testily.  "Terenia is welcome, but I won't have a very obvious enemy in our ranks.  Clearly she hardly wishes it, as well."

Corliss' gaze shifts from Efaen to Reven uncomfortably.  He glances at Ossanlin.

"You don't think there could be a way, some long-shot chance, of extracting the morphing DNA and allowing Terenia to regain her human form?" he asks.  "I'm sure if a major breakthrough in morphing technology like that had been made, someone would have told you...wouldn't they?"

She tapped her fingers on the table a moment. <<so let's find this prince of yours and tell him and then we find a way to release him on your ship. You can keep him from connecting to this Alvie thing and maybe we can get a better idea of what the hell is going on.>> she stood going to the bar and ordering a drink then looking to Claxter with an invitation in her eyes saying drinks were on her. As she waited she rocked her hips slightly and bumped her staff. It had been a little finicky recently since her new powers came in to play. It jutted out from its hiding place placing a tear along the left side of her trousers. It shot a single bolt of lightening at the roof and she ducked. She looked sologetically to the bartender and paid a little extra than needed.

Taylis took her handbag and gave it to the Hork-Bijar.  "Full body restrains please.  I can't be to carful with this host."

Salem smiled. He was used to acquiring cultural secrets from individuals- usually, they were desperate or apathetic. Sometimes it was just naivety. In any case, it was always leverage.

"I'll help you out, Vlad, but I've a few conditions. First and foremost; I am not a well known tracker. I don't want to be known as a hunter, especially around here. If we do this, you're taking all the blame- and all the credit- for anything that happens. I want my name left out of it."

"Secondly," he continued, counting off the reasons on his fingers with a bored expression on his face, "you need to tell me exactly what it is you need. I hate working for someone who throws a different twist at me every ten minutes. If I'm going to work with you, I need to know what I'm getting into."

He frowned at Vlad, "If you're such a talented tracker, how did you lose this guy, anyway?"

Efaen's stalk eyes nod respectfully, though her main eyes are narrowed ever so slightly.

<Prince Ossanlin, with all due respect, if the Electorate is aware of this they have gone mad.> she winces a little, as if the thought of insulting the Electorate is painful. <Nevertheless, the Electorate is not wholly a military body, and I doubt that the entire assembly would be aware of your charades. Perhaps some would defend you and deny your involvement with this Yeerk scum, but if the People found out? No amount of political naysaying would undo the damage. If the civilians discovered that one of their commanders is cavorting with Yeerk filth they will have no choice but to force the Electorate into action.>

Efaen holds Ossanlin's gaze steadily, ensuring that he understands the threat clearly. She knows that she cannot touch him, and she would never physically attack a superior, but she would, in a heartbeat, ruin his career for the sake of the war.

She does not address Reven or Corliss.

((Ack...tired post...block text...sry...*collapse*))

<I think you underestimate me Warrior.>  Ossanlin stresses the term, not rudely, but firmly.  <Do you really think I could command an entire Mark III Dome ship to assist the rebellion without ample support?  We recently helped them relocate to a new base.  My warriors trust me, as do the governing body.  I get results.  They know Efaen.>  Ossanlin meets Efaen's gaze without inhibition, firm and forthright.  <Propaganda is a useful tool, and the Electorate know how to wield it deftly.  Many, while considering Yeerks for the greater part to be undesirable, are not without their own dissidents.  Those who do not support the war.  They realize how marvelously stupid it is not to make use of the rebellion.  They have knowledge and insight that we can only dream of.  They have embedded operatives stationed all throughout the field, from the Yeerk homeworld to Blade Ships to Earth.  To deny such a resource would be more than foolhardy.  However, they wish for the outright hatred for all of Yeerk-kind to continue, in order to push the war forward.  They spread propaganda that they know themselves is not truthful, because it is not about the truth Efaen, it is about brainwashing the public into supporting this war without hesitation.  To forge thoughts of glory in the heads of young Andalites to enlist...to push scientists to develop new weapons and space-faring tecnology in pursuit of war, instead of furthering medicine at home, or the studies of our own stars.  Propaganda drives the people Efaen, and the Electorate have taken your mind as they have so many others.>   Ossanlin sighs a bit.  <In me they found a tool they needed.  I do not buy their propaganda and they are well aware of that.  The Electorate want to make use of the rebellion Efaen, but very few Andalites would deign to be their liason.  Because of my ability to think for myself instead of blindly believing everything the holo's say, they found that liason.  Do as you wish with what you believe to be private information, Warrior.  Just be prepared for a cold shoulder.>

<All of that aside, you are still left with three choices.  Return to the Homeworld and find a nice scoop to support the war from the home, return to service in the military, most-likely aboard-ship, or go with Terenia to the Rebellion.  Reven would like to have you, but only if you agree to behave...and perhaps not even then given the particular strictures.  What is your desire?>  Ossanlin continues to keep his main eyes glued on Efaen's.

Mar listens to the conversation between the Vampire and Salem and rolls his eyes. The creature was unusually straightforward for his species, and it was strange that it sought help. Pollution with Dark Matter often made a species member isolate themselves, other than taking thralls. However, he'd heard that there had been cases which defied this norm in many universes. Another statement that piqued his interest was the same one that caught the eye of Salem: the idea that the Vampire could travel through the "shadow realm."

Mar turns his head toward the Vampire and states, "...do you mean that your species can open Oblivion Gates and move safely? I don't doubt your claim: Vampires are Dark creatures. But you're saying you can stabilize the passage for a being of mana, such as Salem. Mmm. It's true that there are safer routes, and more dangerous routes through the Darkness. And Salem..."

Mar glances toward him and states, "...I gain my Belief passively, as a parasite upon others. My territories are places in which you will find stories of a rivalry between Dark and Light Highest. It is true that I am hardly the only Dark side Highest in this position. But sell what you find in places where this is not as prominent."

Keshin glances at Elayne with a shrug. She seemed...somewhat overly miffed considering Keshin was just curious. Keshin puts her hands in her pockets and says, "Look, I'm just interested. I've never encountered a problem like this before and want to know what changed. Is there a way to get out of this place and still make it back to my own universe? I don't want to wind up in the same place as this human kid over here."

Iosse ran aboard the ship, scuttling on his many needled legs. He breathed in deeply... food. There was food here. And he wouldn't have been able to restrain himself if he hadn't been permitted already. He looked at Temrash, still hesitant to simply raid his supply of food, but he was inching steadily closer to the scent of wonderful food.

With the restraints out, Temrash gestured for the Imperial to lie on the table. Once she was on, he would bind her arms and legs, as well as her torso. She could still turn her head to drop herself into the pool.

Claxter ordered a light drink, and asked for a dish to drink through his hooves. He didn't want to get drunk, or get distracted with a morph's taste buds.

Vlad sighed in resignation, ''I had them in my sight, but something happened. When they stepped aboard their ship, it vanished. I believe the yeerks bagged em, as everyone knows there are still bands of Yeerks, that do anything to get powerful hosts. What more powerful that an andalite? And as for your side, I will take the blame, without a doubt.''

Illim lets out an amused snort at Derrel's words, straightening his shoulders again. Is he trying to comfort me? "What makes you think that? Everything's fine. I've accomplished much of what I wanted. I'm just... not entirely sure how to proceed yet."

Elayne eyes Keshin doubtfully, but she finally shrugs. The bounty hunter--or Imperial, or whoever she is--seems genuine enough; Elayne figures she might as well be a bit more polite.

"If you leave on your own, or with someone from your timeline, you should be fine, at least to my understanding. It's when you leave here with someone like Trey or me that you'd start to run into problems. It's why I'm stuck here: my pilot is dead, and there's no one else from my timeline. I might decide to risk leaving at some point, but for now, my only options are to remain here or take some flying lessons."

Taylis laid down in the restraints knowing she was about to be leaving all her defenses with Amy.  She closes her host eyes as she begins to withdraw from her hosts brain.  <<I kept your heels on.  If you do need to use a weapon you have those.>> She then fully disengaged and began to take in the Kandrona, calming her stressed out mind.

"Well, that was easy enough." Temrash said, taking the pool to the shelf where it was less likely to get knocked over. "I wonder how much this Imperial is worth. It's highly unlikely Visser Three will pay a ransom for her, but maybe we can still get something."

He went over to Amy and undid the restraints. "We are actually rebels. I take it you are involuntary. Perhaps you would be willing to tell us about the Yeerk." He kept his guard up just in case the Human tried anything. Just because she was involuntary didn't mean she liked Yeerk rebels any more than Imperials.

When Mar started talking to Vlad about "Oblivion Gates" and paths through the Darkness, Salem listened with interest. Most of it had no real meaning to him beyond what he could guess at, but simply the knowledge that there were, perhaps, many different ways of accessing this 'shadow realm' was information that might come in handy later.

When Mar described his range of influence, Salem let out a long whistle. "That's a pretty broad territory from what I've seen, Highest. I'm impressed." He smiled an nodded at Mar, "The information will stay confidential until I'm sure I'm out of that range."

When Vlad spoke, Salem grinned and spun in his chair, taking his feet off the table. He set his heavy boots on the floor with a dull thud and stood up.

"I believe we can do business," he said, holding out his hand for Vlad to shake. "So, partner, what's your plan for finding this... Lenroth, was it?"
