Ossanlin nods as Reven finishes his speech and the feed cuts out. <Well, that could've gone better.>
Ossanlin turns his main eyes on Efaen. <What am I to do with you until we return to the Tyrennian?> Ossanlin sighs. <I realize you don't like the idea but I'm certain you're familiar with the law on this matter...and if you are not, I will inform you. You have been out of the military for several years, no doubt your former Prince has reported you missing or deserted. In either of these cases, the highest-ranking member of the military to locate you becomes your commanding officer at least until the matter has been processed through the beaurocracy. That means I'm your Prince now, and since you've stated that you wish to return to the military, I find I must enforce this regulation.>
<When I leave you will come with me to the Tyrennian where I will find some function for you until this matter has been dealt with and you have been reassigned. Until we return to the ship...> Ossanlin sighs again. <I see no way around this...I cannot leave you locked in my med-bay the entire time. I am issuing you a standing order not to injure or impair anyone except in the defense of your own life. I am further ordering you not to leave the general vicinity of the bar without my permission. If I hear that you have caused injury without provocation, or have instigated an attack upon yourself in order to make self-defense necessary, I will have you immediately detained and you will face charges upon our return. I promise you that you will not see action again for a very, very long time if you disobey this order. If you desert, well you know the punishments in order for deserters.> Ossanlin holds Efaen's gaze for several seconds to make sure the impact is taken to heart. Efaen sounded much like the letter-of-the-law type, and if she was, she would know that Ossanlin was acting perfectly within legal statutes, if taking the interpretation of the law a bit more harshly than usual.
He glances up at Corliss. <I apologize for the intrusion...I had hoped this would go much better than it did.>
Ossanlin projects his "voice" to Terenia herself, switching to private thought. <<I am sorry Terenia, it seems I have failed in my objectives with you. I know you won't believe me, but I honestly meant to help you, not harm you. It seems I have wronged you not once but twice. I do not expect forgiveness, so I will not ask for it.>> Ossanlin pauses for a moment. <<There is still some hope to reclaim your lost body...if my people have the technology to rid you of nothlitization, it must be possible to do so again. And I may be able to use my abilities to isolate and copy your body's genetic information from Efaen's morph...and perhaps project that into usable biological data...I must wait before I attempt to access my abilities again, but I will attempt to acquire your morph from Efaen's morph before we leave this planetoid. That is all I can do to help you for now, I apologize.>> Ossanlin falls silent, feeling somewhat empty within.
