Ossanlin returns Efaen's formal bow, but not as deeply. It seems that she wishes to respect protocals, he feels he should in turn. <I understand what the propaganda does Efaen and I respect your opinion. The reason that I trust the rebels is very simple...one of them saved me from infestation by a Visser known as Seran...she is now one of my closest friends. And if matters of law trouble you, I have approval directly from the Electorate to work with the rebels on joint operations, should I see it to our advantage. It is not common knowledge, and the Electorate certainly does not want the public to know that they are sanctioning allied operations with Yeerks, but it is quite true. You may do with this information as you wish, but should you decide to offer this information up, it is likely that the Electorate will discredit your claims.>
Ossanlin sighs looking back at Reven before returning his gaze to Efaen. <The fact is, Reven is uncomfortable with you in their midst, especially since you'd be reporting to me and I in turn would be reporting to others. His concerns are valid. Terenia also stated that you would not wish to join these Yeerks. The reasons I believe it to be a good place for you currently are threefold. Firstly, you yourself have mentioned a desire for combat, especially close-quarters. You know you will most-likely not get that aboard a Dome Ship, but within the rebellion, their operations are on a much more...personal level you have a much better chance of accomplishing your objectives with them. Secondly, I think it would be a benefit to us and the rebellion, as well as yourself personally. You would be forced to learn that not all Yeerks are evil, slave-driving monsters, we would gain some...insight...in to the rebellion's activities, and the rebellion would gain a morph-capable ally for covert operations. Thirdly, it would be good for Terenia. You have the biological form of her original body stored in memory...unless we can extract that DNA and reverse the nothlitization process...she will lose that without you.>
<But in this matter, your wishes are tantamount to if not greater than the wishes of the rest of us. What is your desire? You know that I cannot allow you to return to the Imperials.> Ossanlin continues to gaze at Efaen with his main eyes.
