<Thordon, were you somehow keeping his pain supressed from up there?> Claxter asked in slight surprise from Ossanlin's reaction after he stopped. <That's impressive.>

He decided to let Alic continue talking, as she seemed to get through to him better than anyone.

(This probably brings Alic back to when Oss was lying on the bar floor when Temrash first entered the scene.)

Elayne nods and starts to scoot away from Ossanlin as she caps the needle, but his abrupt cry of pain startles her into nearly falling on her side. "Was he ready for that yet?" she whispers urgently, her eyes wide as she rights herself again. She hesitates to stow the sedative back in the battered metal box with Ossanlin in this extremely pained state.

Salem stood up and walked over to Elayne.

<<Morph now, War Prince! You're hurt!>>

He knelt down next to her and whispered, "Keep that ready. And I need to take care of his leg. I'm not sure he's even capable of morphing right now. This crowd still thinks we can take the easy way out." He glanced around at the gathered crowd. "Why are there never doctors around when you need them?"

Al laughed and rolled his eyes. "Maybe not, but you can't deny we had style. Yeah, the Punum's got a few tricks up her sleeve. Whenever we run across an exciting new alien technology, we like to try to figure out how to use it with what we've got."

He circled the ship wide, bringing it down to ground level a few miles from the bar, then turned to head back towards the action, skimming the treetops. "Man, judging by the number of people who ran to hold you, whoever you tried to take out has friends to spare."

Alic placed her free hand on Ossanlin's cheek. He must not give up now! <No! Listen to me! You have to morph, now!>
She winced when he squeezed her hand, whatever had been done to him caused too much pain. Alic hated seeing him in pain, but it seemed to bring him back for at least a few moments, and she knew every moment was important if they were to bring him back.
<I promise, Love, you can sleep as much as you want later. Right now I need you to morph!> She hoped he would understand the urgency in what she said. If they couldn't get him to morph out, he would be lost.

Thordon winced at Ossanlin's reaction to the pain, however he was correct in assuming Ossanlin would not black out again. He replied to Claxter, "I was isolating his body's energy flow, cutting off any electrical signals from his lower half." He looked to Ossanlin and Alic and explained his motives, "I'm sorry to cause you so much pain, but you can lose consciousness again."

Terenia stands back, removed from the situation at hand. For a long while she stares at Ossanlin's fading body, resisting Efaen as she pleaded to speak with him. Her begging quieted, however, when Aliciana and Claxter appeared on the scene. Terenia's focus had shifted to the Andalite girl, then. They had only spoken briefly before, and Terenia was acutely aware of the fact that Alic did not like her, despite briefly volunteering to replace Efaen as her host. Watching her kneel by Ossanlin's broken body a realization dawns on her.

<<They love one another. Or at least, she is in love with him.>> Terenia says to Efaen, her intrigue at this realization all that is keeping the two of them on speaking terms. Efaen notices this as well, but remains silent, worn out from her fight for control. As they watch from the background a question tugs at the back of her mind. This is one of the worst injuries she has seen in her time at the bar - short of her own arm being burnt off just an hour or so earlier. And before that, Corliss had sustained damage, early in Terenia's residence in the bar. She was beginning to sense a common thread.

<How did he get hurt?> she asks the group at large, unsure who was around when the injury was sustained. She is aware that they are all involved in the task of keeping Ossanlin alive, and they very well may not answer her, but suddenly she desperately wants to know what happened to cause the explosions and subsequent injuries.

-----

Tamora follows The Directors gaze, her brows drawn. "Is...is that man...flying?" she asks, her face lined with confusion. She shakes her head, as though trying to clear the image from it. She sees several more strangers, Claxter and Aliciana among them, exit the bar, heading in the same direction as Terenia.

"Alright," she says, reluctantly, "perhaps now is not the time to chase down my sister. It looks as though the entire bar is moving to the field. I think I'll stay out of this one..."

Claxter seemed to notice Terenia for the first time since she ran out of the bar. Obviously he didn't know what happened, but he scanned the area with his stalk eyes.

<There was a ship parked here. There's a hole in the ground to the side of where the ship was parked, that looked like it was scooped out. Was he hit by the ramp somehow?>

Thordon looked to Terenia and answered, "He was in pursuit of Keshin who was running towards another ship. When he reached the ship, it was taking off and it hit him."

"No problem," Asda replied. "I just need you to come over here and sit on this table. I'll run a scan and see if we can find anything."

Asda stepped over to a computer and opened up a program.

The color rises in Ossanlin's cheeks as Aliciania calls him "Love".  He opens his eyes and stares into Alic's.  No one was on her side...if he wasn't there, who would be around for her?  No one...he suddenly realizes that they want him to morph for injuries.  He squeezes Alic's hand again as he surges through his mental fog, focusing clearly for just a moment on his human morph.  The changes begin slowly...fur retracting into his skin.  His skin changes color and the morph picks up speed.  His tail and rear end starts to melt forward, his compound-fractured leg snaps back into place.  His stalk-eyes absorb into his head and is face rearranges.  Black hair snakes out from his head, reaching shoulder length, splayed out on the dirt.  His rear vanishes completely leaving a nude male human torso lying on the ground.  Finally the cartilage in his neck mends itself, his tracheal chondritis vanishing as if it never were.  Finally Ossanlin is completely human, his right hand squeezing Alic's again, his left hand reaching up to her lavender-hued face, caressing it.  "Th...Thank you..."  With that he collapses into unconsciousness again, his mind spent, his nude human form lying on his side, his breath coming soft and slow, but uninhibited.

Silver nodded and sat where she was told.  While Asda set things up she told her as well as her parents what has been happening since the CG had tested on her so many years ago. "Now its gotten worse. Any time something phases me and has me thinking to much of the CG then I pass out. Parker was afraid I wouldn't wake up..." She explained and also mentioned that Parker mentioned a voice from her that wasn't hers.

Claxter felt a lot of relief when his Prince morphed, and stood close to him when he fell unconscious. <Aliciania, do you think it is possible for us to open the Mirage? I believe prince Ossanlin would be safest there.> <<We need to find who helped Keshin escape. That is who is indirectly responsible for this.>> He spoke the last sentence privately to Alic.

<He was hit by a ship?> Terenia asks in awe-filled thought-speak as Ossanlin begins to morph at last. The mental image that this draws up makes her severed arm seem trite by comparision. She is on the verge of feeling disgruntled at being shown up when Efaen breaks into her thoughts.

<<You imbecile, do you continue to understand nothing?>> she snaps, her own frustration outmatching Terenia's.

<<What do you mean?>>

<<War-Prince Ossanlin was injured chasing after Keshin, according to that four-armed being,>> Efaen says, speaking slowly as though to someone simple minded.

<<So?>> Terenia asks, too exhausted to simply pluck the answer from Efaen's mind.

<<So what happened not half a standard hour ago that would incite such a reaction from the War-Prince?>>

<<You...you mean...are you trying to say that Ossanlin was trying to capture Keshin because he tried to kill me?>> Terenia asks in complete bewilderment. Efaen's silence and a quick look inside her thought processes confirm as much. This possibility floors Terenia, and she finds herself conjuring up the still searing memory of Keshin's attempted hit. The moment of drunken haze before hand, the unbearable pain that followed...but there was more, wasn't there? A leering man, pushing Keshin out of the way. Parker, dragging her from the fiery black hole that had become her mind...and Corliss, who was there when she had awoken. And now Ossanlin, chasing after the same being that had tried to kill her.

Overwhelmed by the sudden jolt of reality, Terenia finds herself backing away from the scene as Ossanlin finishes his morph. A tidal wave of guilt and...something else...something she does not fully recognize - gratefulness? hope? longing? - washes over her. Her breath catches, hitching in her airway as she turns on hoof and melts back into the forest.

Parker let go of Ossanlin as he changed. He let out another sigh of relief knowing he would be okay. He looked to alic and asked gently. "Would you like me to carry him? There'd be no better escort."

Thordon nodded happily as Ossanlin morphed human. He watched as Terenia backed away, but he did nothing about it.

<Quite right, Parker. Thank you for volunteering.> Claxter said, even though the question wasn't exactly aimed at him. Right now even though he wan concerned for his prince, he felt like he was in the background. Ossanlin had only responded to Aliciania, and Claxter wasn't exactly needed. He noticed terenia left, and he wished she had stayed so he could keep an eye on her. He felt like he needed to question someone, but who?

<Who's ship was it that took off? Who is behind Keshin's escape?> He asked.
