"A demo?" Aurora asked, intrigued despite her caution. "You mean, you can show me...that your a...York?"

"Don't worry," Norpo said with a grin, "I'm ok with tupperware. I have a fishbowl android thing at her house that I spend some of my time in, along with the occasional glass of water, so tupperware does not bother me."
Then, turning to Aurora, he responded, "Yes. And it's pronounced Yeerk. With two 'e''s. Not York with an 'o'."

"Oh..." Aurora says, mystified, "Sorry. Fish bowl? Glass of water?" Their conversation seems to be getting even more convoluted, rather than less and she can feel a headache coming on.

"Fishbowl?" Myitt said, cackling.  "That's great for the ego, eh?"

Denise was massaging her sore ankle when, out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone run past to where the door was. "What...?" Denise turned to look in that direction, and immediately recognized the girl in the alley from earlier.

She gave off a menacing type air, as she stood in front of the office door, blocking Denise's only clear path to escape. The young woman was momentarily startled by her unexpected appearance, but that initial shock slowly evaporated into anger.

Denise's light green eyes blazed back fiercely, as she glared up at Kaitlyn/ Illrid. Despite the wariness she was feeling, Denise was determined not to back down or let it show, but instead defiantly climbed to her feet and kept her gaze locked solely on the other girl's. She was sick and tired of being jacked around by other people or events out of her control, and would be d*mned if she'd let it go on any longer.

"Get...out...of my way" Denise said in a low, dangerous voice. Though she was very slender and not very muscular, she was in fact very tall and leanly built, and towered quite a bit over the teenage girl in front of her. And given her darkly exotic features and an air of fierce confidence, the 21 year old 'dancer' was not only uniquely alluring but also fairly intimidating when she wanted to be.

"You try and find the right equipment for an android at Radio Shack, and then come back and talk to me about the fishbowl." Norpo replied, crossing his arms. "Plus," Tia added, "we had to flush Fishey, so I didn't need the bowl anymore. He just kinda took it over."

"ok...why are we suddenly talking about androids and fishes down the toilet?" Michael asked, hoping to lighten the mood.

"Yep...not too unusual a topic, around here," Corliss sniffed, grinning.

"Wait, what do you mean about androids?" Myitt said, utterly perplexed.

"Um..." Aurora speaks up, looking from one Controller to the next, "I thought we were getting some sort of demonstration? Because otherwise I am so ready to get off of this Disney ride."

Corliss and Myitt stopped and looked at Aurora, then at each other.

"Um," Corliss began.

"Uh, not it," Myitt said, smirking.  "I'm not hungry."

"Well, it would certainly prove it to them," Corliss said.  The two of them slowly turn their gaze over toward Tia and Norpo.

Myitt cracks her knuckles, exhaling quiet laughter.  "You signed up for it, kiddo," she said wryly.  "A little bit of show and tell."

"What are you gonna do? Jump off this ship? We must be at least 500 feet in the air" Michael said. "Oh and about androids, quoting Tia 'You try and find the right equipment for an android at Radio Shack'"

The sun came up over the Rocky Mountains, with the little ship parked on a broad, flat plain caked with white.  Some kind of salt flat?  It's almost an alien landscape...

((Sorry dude I know it gets confusing, but the ship's parked x3  I know it's hard to keep track of the details in a long trail of posts.))

"We're actually on the ground," Myitt said, shrugging.  "You think I'd open my hatch at 500 feet just to let some fresh, believable mountain air come in?  As for androids, I see no reason why a Yeerk should be looking for android parts.  What is this, Blade Runner?"

((Agh, I had a plan in mind for Illrid to try to trick Denise, but I've forgotten what it was. All well  :P. I'll have to improvise. This should be interesting. Don't blame me if I make my character sound like more of an idiot than she already did.))

Though Illrid wasn't afraid of this woman, Kaitlyn certainly was. She was at least two feet taller, and had an angry, menacing look that made her want to run away. Illrid stood her ground. Keeping her face emotionless, she began to speak.

"I can't let you leave. Those people are dangerous. If you leave, after what you've seen and heard, they won't hesitate to kill you. If you just come with me, and allow us to explain, we can keep you safe," she said.

<I'm impressed,> Kaitlyn thought. <I'll be even more impressed if she believes you.>

Denise stood her ground as well, arms crossed over chest, her 'tough girl face' on. Her eyes narrowed as she listened to Illrid's explanation. After all she'd been through in the past couple hours, Denise wasn't gonna buy the first little excuse thrown at her.

Besides, this girl had obviously been up to something in the alley, and had been openly involved in a gun fight outside. No way was Denise gonna trust her just like that.

"I think you're gonna have to do much better than that" replied the young woman with a sneer. "Now, in case I hadn't made it crystal clear the first time around, get the hell out of the way and let me leave" she said as if she were talking to a small child. "Or else, I will be forced to move you, which I don't think you'd like".

As confident and self-assured as she may have seemed, Denise was really operating more on anger and frustration at this point. To be honest, she had no idea what the hell she was gonna do when she got away from The Sharing. Maybe call the cops, but she wasn't sure if they'd believe anything she had to say.
