((...ok...I am having a very hard time understanding rp rules))

((Think of it as reading a book.  In this case, since we're writing in third person, the writer/narrator can know little things like that as long as it's clear that the character doesn't know, if the character isn't supposed to know about it.  That's pretty much it, as long as the character isn't omniscient and all powerful, and the writer doesn't take over anyone else's characters without their permission.  If it's any consolation you've been doing really great :) ))

((I'm not really sure if we should wait for everyone to catch up, but I feel like posting...))

Tia had fallen asleep in the chair soon after her conversation with Myitt and Mike. Norpo had also gone into a sort of relaxed stage not unlike sleep. They had been like that for a few hours, when Tia, in her sleep, rolled over. Out of the chair.
She landed on the ground with a loud THUMP. "Oww," she mumbled into her arms before pushing herself up, half off the ground. "What time is it?"

((Yeah, I'm sure there could be a Denise/Kaitlyn run-in pretty easily. Also, morfowt, you're doing great. The bit you don't understand about Dracon's? It's like how in narration I was talking about a 'Dracon beam' but Aurora kept saying 'gun'. She didn't know the correct term, but I did.))

The noise jerked Aurora from her restless sleep. It had been a bad night. She had been having some rather unusual nightmares involving kids younger than her with guns, a spaceship, and aliens taking over the world. She yawned and stretched, wondering why she was so sore. Had she slept on the floor? That was strange...why wasn't she in her bed?

She opened her eyes and gazed about blearily for her alarm clock.

Aurora froze mid-stretch, her mouth snapping shut with so much force her teeth rattled. She was not in her bedroom. She was nowhere close to her bedroom. Her nightmare, it appeared, was far from over.

Corliss was sprawled out on the pilot's chair, snoring.  Myitt flicked the back of his head.  "Hey, wake up, you're killing us."

Corliss/Mike jolted awake.  "Wha?  Whass going on..."  He sat up and rubbed his eyes.

"Good morning sunshine," Myitt smirked, walking across the cabin and glancing at everyone.  "Sorry, I know it ain't the Ritz, but at least we're all in one piece, right?"  She walked into one of the doors at the back, apparently a storage room of some sort.

In a moment she stepped back out, yawning and messy haired, carrying a few black metal tins and a canteen of water.

She sat down on the ground in the middle of the cabin and set items on the metal tiled floor next to her.

"Right, who's hungry?" she said, smiling and opening a few of the metal tins.  She unscrewed the canteen cap and carefully poured water into each of them.  "I think we're out of spoons, you have no idea how hard it is to get plastic spoons when you want them..." She shrugged and swirled a tin around a bit, setting it on the floor.  "Well, help yourselves."  She started drinking...or eating...whichever, from one of the little tins.  Its contents were some kind of hybrid between porridge and watery, soggy Cheerios.

Outside the little ship, a huge blue sky yawned over them.  Surrounding it, beyond the little white rock clearing, were thousands of pine trees.  An eagle flew overhead, screeching.  Yup, definitely somewhere out in the sticks...

"Mmm, delicious," Tia deadpanned after taking a drink and chewing slightly. Then looked down into the tin. "I just realized...I'm not really hungry. Anyone want the rest of this?" She set it down and strolled over to the flight controls. "This is fascinating," Norpo said, awe filling his--or rather, Tia's--voice. "Did you do this all by yourself?"

Ew. I think I just threw up a bit in my mouth.))

Aurora slowly lowered her arms, still in mid-stretch, and eyed the food warily. She didn't trust it, and it didn't seem very appetizing. She kept her distance, ignoring her complaining stomach.

((Sorry XD Hehehe...soggy Fruit Loops are the worst, for me...nasty sugar milk...bLEEHHH...))

Corliss, still sitting in the pilot's seat, glanced over at Tia/Norpo.  "Yeah, this is all her, mate," he said, waving a hand idly back toward Myitt.

"Yeah, I know, food sucks...but it'll keep us alive and kicking.  There are emergency Kandrona generator rations and what functions as a portable pool in the storage room, too," said Myitt, nodding at Tia.  She got up from the floor and stepped over to the controls next to Tia and Corliss.

<Careful, man, I still don't know if I trust her,> said Myitt's host, Tara, warily.

<Yeah, neither do I, but she's not gonna bite,> Myitt replied.  <If she does, we're still armed.>

"The chairs were the easiest part," Myitt says, still tipping up the bottom of the tin for whatever's left of the nasty protein goop.  "You have any idea how convolutedly we designed these things, with Taxxons in mind?  Could've been much simpler.  But try running anything that might improve things through the Empire's red tape..." She shrugged and set the tin down on the console, sniffling and reaching out in between the two oval bug eye windows.  "Computer, transparency at 100 percent," she commanded the computer system in Yeerkish, drawing a diagonal line from left to right in the air.  A square opened up in the hull between the bug eye windows, merging with them and creating a large sort of skylight on the nose.  Expanding the view of the wilderness beyond.

((I eat cereal dry half the time. Though apparently Diet coke and Cherios tastes "fruity".))
"Yeah, I know. I just usually do what I can to get the job done, now. I was one of those bright, eyed young optomists, though." He paused, gazing at the control pannel. "Thought I could change the Empire. Now look at me. I get to deal with PMS every month. Plus, I'm apparently on the run." Her eyelids flickered. "Forgive me. We're on the run."
Tia sort of sat back in her mind while Norpo looked over the controls, almost lovingly. <You scare me sometimes...> she muttered before adding, <Can I at least have control of my mouth so you don't drool everywhere.>
<Yeah, sorry. It's just so...cool. It's--yeah, I know. You don't want to hear it.>
Tia cleared her throat and then asked, "So, what're your stories?"

Myitt shrugged.  "Not too different from you," she said, gazing out the viewports.  "Thought I was tough.  I believed the crap they shoved down our throats for so long..." She shook her head.  "Now we're apparently recruiters for our little band of idiots." Myitt glanced briefly at Corliss, eyes narrowed, then looked back over at Tia.  She offered a hand.  "Myitt One-Nine-Five.  My host's name is Tara.  Corliss said he knew you, but we've never met.  If he trusts you, you get bonus points, at least."

"I dragged her into this," Corliss said hoarsely, clearing his throat.  "She loves me for it."  He giggled.  "That's what brothers are for, innit mate?"

"Oh, be quiet," Myitt snapped, not unkindly.

"Tiamate Morgan," she said, blindly aiming for her hand, as Norpo was still focused on the control pannel. "The one who actually cares about your machinery and insists on continuing to look at it," her head snapped over to Myitt/Tara a little sharply, "thank you, is Norpo Six-Nine-Seven."
Norpo grinned a bit sheepishly. "Sorry, but I've just never seen some of what you did."
"He's like a geek at a convention," Tia explained, crossing her arms. "And he really wants to see the ins and outs. Badly."

((XD, I thought you said "Cheetos" at first. Now that would be disgusting.))

Kaitlyn continued to run at full speed, ignoring the sounds behind her, desperate to get to safety. Illrid was not sure whether or not she was actually in control of her host. She was equally terrified.

She spotted a side door in the building and immediately jerked the handle. It swung open, revealing an empty hallway. "Evacuate the building!" she screamed at the top of her voice. Now Illrid was certain that her host had momentarily broken free. She turned to run, but Illrid seized control of her and headed into the building, pulling the door closed behind her.

<What are you doing? If they destroy the building, I'll die!>

<We'll die, Kaitlyn. And we're safer here than we are out there.>

A deafening roar split through the air. She felt her eyes squeeze shut as blinding light and intense heat filled the room. She felt the walls shaking, threatening to collapse. For a moment, she could see only sparks of light and patches of grey. Finally, her vision cleared, and she could see again.

Kaitlyn opened the nearest door and ran safely inside. It was a small office. A desk and chair sat in one corner, a file cabinet in the other. She ducked in the nearest corner, holding her breath, hearing only the sound of her heart pounding.

"Where are we?" Aurora asks, her voice sounding scratchy and strained. Her eyes are fixed on the transparent portion of the ship and the strange, unfamiliar landscape outside. "Where did you take me? What are you going to do with me? With us?" Aurora amends, glancing at Michael's still sleeping form.

((Auughh, soggy Cheetos!   :P ))

"I know how you feel, Norpo," Myitt laughed.  "I can show you some of what I've done.  It's nothing spectacular, just enough to make things more comfortable.  And easier to evade Imperial scouting, of course.  Some of it I really shouldn't show you, if I'm supposed to be suspicious of you and everything."  She grinned a little, then shrugged.  "I am naturally paranoid, so you'll have to forgive me if I give you the brief tour."  Myitt started bringing up a couple of holoscreens, displaying 3D schematics of various parts of the engine and the control panel, rotating them in midair with a hand.  "Unfortunately the z-space engine transponders aren't as good as the newer models, but they get the job done."

Corliss swiveled the creaky metal pilot's chair, so that it was facing the back of the cabin, hands behind his head.

"We're in Wyoming," he told Aurora nonchalantly.  "Southern Yellowstone, actually.  It's one of the least populated places in the lower 48 United States, which is perfect for us.  You think there are any other aliens out there?"  He waved a hand back at the viewscreens.  "It isn't likely.  So we're probably safe, for now.  As for you two, we only did this to keep you from the real purpose of The Sharing.  We brought you here to save you.  I'm afraid you'll have to just trust us on that for now, and in time, if you want, you can help us.  While you're here you can make yourselves comfortable, you're not in prison.  But you can't return home, not right now.  Did you tell anyone at The Sharing your full name?  Your address, anything personal like that?"

((Ew...Just eww...Soggy cheetos...Worse than microwave fries.))
Norpo grinned back at Myitt. "Yeah, we still have some ships equiped with the old transponders. It's such a pain when they want me to upgrade something, but it's like one part of the ship that's completely incompatable with the rest of the ship. But try explaining that to Visser Three. I've gotten really good with gum, hair pins, and paper clips."
"And with dislocating my arm," Tia added calmly. "You think it's a pain what you go through, now think about what I go through." She rolled her eyes.
"I don't have to. I hear about it every five minutes."

"It's really amusing how quickly I've gotten used to talking to myself aloud, in this line of work," Myitt mused.  She tapped a couple icons on the screen.  "Hey, I'm not talking to myself," Tara muttered.

<Technicalities,> Myitt said casually.  Aloud she said, "So Norpo, you work on ships a lot?"
