"So you don't have any idea what's going on either," said Mar with a droll look to his face. If even the Venvolar did not know what he was, there was little point in talking to him. Ike was even further on the exasperation end of things--- he was alarmingly straightforward about his brainwashing, as if it were the most natural thing in this world. .....ah. Mar paused, and then looked in Ike's direction.

"Try it, you say?" he said, his expression unreadable but showing interest. He crossed his arms. "You know....I do wonder what would happen if I did. Do you have a way for me to meet this Father right here?"

"Oh, and the mighty Temser 2 can't be seen flirting with us lowly mortals," Gallant said with a side grin, sipping at a drink at the table. It was odd--- he wasn't sure he had even ordered one from the Bartender. Sometimes Time seemed a bit...strange...in this place. Had there been a pause before they spoke?

Gallant then looked over at Haviss and said casually, "Well if either of you get an altar that works let me know. I do know what a pain that can be from experience. I once hosted a little party that needed one."

Ike opened his mouth to reply to Mar, but closed it in thought. Frankly he wasn't so sure he could from here. "This place seems to be everywhere, and nowhere. I feel the presence of The One, but also some...interference? Maybe if we found a quiet place and I called out to Him in spirit, he could find us. Sometimes new converts are brought somewhere that His power is infused, like a holy temple, and meditating can connect you to him."

"Maybe if I gather a few things from my ship, and we go to the lake, we could communicate with The One more directly."

Haviss smirks at Elriss, recognizing her drunken attempts to retain some semblance of control. It was quite amusing, actually, and more interesting than the sounds of another patron making their way to the bar. He had been here long enough to be used to the sound of ships arriving and departing, although this one seemed to be manned by a clumsier pilot than most.

Gallant, on the other hand, was a bit of a mystery. "A party with an altar?" he asks once the noise dies down. Frowning, he searches his host's memories for any sort of knowledge regarding such things. "Are you a part of a cult, then?"

There is a long silence after the initial cacophony that marks the new ship's arrival. Then the sound of hooves, moving at a particularly frantic gait, resound outside. The door is shoved open with one weak hand, and an Andalite gallops into the midst of the bar.

He is a young male Andalite, with a build so slight that it is almost feminine, lacking the tone of a typical warrior. Even more notable is the utter lack of decorum in his appearance. His turquoise fur is standing on end, as if he had been recently in a fight with lightning, and it is somewhat shaggier than the typical Andalite's. On his head is a strange contraption that almost looks like a helmet, with holes for his eye stalks. It is made of scrapped together shiny and dull metal bits, and covered in distracting blinking lights.

The Andalite blinks wide, frantic amber eyes at the room, taking in the totally alien nature of the patrons. His flanks are heaving with the exertion of running into the room, but he does not seem ready to rest. <Does anyone here have access to a standard beam weapon?> he asks urgently in open thought speak. <A Shredder beam or your own species' equivalent?>

"The lake...." murmur Mar. Memories flash before his eyes of the last time he came to this Bar. Yes, yes, the lake would work for a summoning--- more than one Entity had either taken refuge in or seemed stronger near the place. Mar stands up next to his chair, glancing down at Ike afterward. "...I think that will work nicely. Let us see how this One reacts to contact with me."

Mar smiles pleasantly, although something in the expression in his eyes is still unreadable. He was very interested in whether the One could absorb him. And even if the creature could not, he would find out how the Highest was doing it.

Before they can get moving, however, an Andalite bursts abruptly through the door wearing a helmet with flashing lights. Mar frowns irritably, rubbing his forehead as he listened to the disheveled idiot speak. Just what he needed--- a distraction. "....Ike, do you by any chance have what this...person...is looking for?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Certainly not!" said Gallant with a bit of a grin, as if the very idea was ridiculous to him. "I once had guests that were far more adept at magic than me. They wanted to have a set piece to work with and I obliged. They put on quite a show."

Before Gallant can speak again, a....blue monster!....burst through the door looking panicked. Gallant's eyes widen and his glass drops onto the table and shatters. He stands up quite stiffly, looking back and forth with an expression of pure terror on his face. "What....what is that thing?! Is it talking?!"

"I have a blaster." Ike said in Galard, getting up and moving towards the Andalite. He didn't really want to advertise what weapons he had, but the guy looked like he was running from something that could burst in at any moment. Not to mention the imperials in the room that may decide to attack him too. He pulled out a pistol with two barrels, one on top of the other. It was actually a combination weapon that could fire lasers and bullets, with their own barrels. In an advanced world, sometimes bullets were better than lasers. "Tell me more about your problem."

The Andalite stares at Ike with his main eyes, his stalk eyes taking in the room as a whole. <You are a human, yes?> he asks, then continues without waiting for a response. <You would not understand my need. Give me your weapon and I will return it to you at a later date.> He moves towards Ike and his companion, holding a hand out, clearly expecting to be obeyed without complaint.

"Yeah, I'm human. Not everyone here is, though. I have a spare gun in my ship, so I guess you can have this one if you just need the weapon." Ike said. He explained that there's a switch for the top barrel to fire beams, and a bottom barrel to fire bullets. He also gave the guy an extra clip for the bullets after handing over the gun. "Normally I'd invite you to rest a bit, but I'm not sure how a couple of the patrons would react to you being around." He tried not to look at Elriss or Haviss directly, since who knew if the guy wouldn't start shooting them for being Yeerks. He did stand between the Andalite and them in case they decided to try something themselves.

"You make sure to come back in one piece now."

Elriss raises an eyebrow when Gallant begins talking about altars and magic and that kind of nonsense. She opens her mouth to deliver a sarcastic, flirtatious, and profoundly clever reply, but is interrupted by the sound of the door opening.

"Andalite," she spits under her breath, her hand inching towards her Dracon. The Andalite has not yet noticed her, or her Imperial uniform. She takes a moment to look around at the other patrons... they seem to be more accepting of this new arrival than she is.

"So this really is a rebel stronghold then," she mutters darkly to Haviss. "All the more reason for me to get my people here as quick's I can."

Venvolar stands a little closer to Mar and Ike. It eyes them both, and in the boy's voice, it says, "We would like to see the lake as well."

At the sound of the door opening, it turns to look at the Andalite in the doorway. Its eyes grow wide at the sight of the creature, and it lets out a small "Ooohhhh," followed by, "Can we keep it, Genwa?"

The Andalite watches Ike impassively as he tries to give instructions. <Yes, yes, I know how a combination projectile and beam weapon works,> he finally says, cutting the man off and taking the weapon. He has no holster, so he settles for holding it at his side. Then he takes a step back addressing the room at large.

<If anyone would like to see a rather ingenious explosion, please step outside and witness the destruction of my vessel!> He flashes an Andalite smile with his main eyes.

Haviss' own lip curls upward at the familiar blue form, and his Dracon is out of its holster with a hiss of metal on leather. He doesn't raise it, but he does narrow his eyes as he glances to Elriss. "If it is, he may have reinforcements," he murmurs.

Ike was a bit put off by the Andalite's attitude, but didn't say anything. He started walking outside, mostly because he was heading out with Mar anyway. Venvolar too, apparently. He hoped the guy wasn't overly crazy, though the more he talked, the more likely he seemed to not be deserving of holding a weapon.

Gene, having found a seat at the bar near Haviss, Elriss and Gallant, is content in letting the snippets of conversation wash over him for a few long moments.

The bartender stares at him, and he finds himself obliged to order, giving the man--or the creature--a cautious smile.

"Uh," he breathes, clearing his throat. "Jack and coke, please."

<<Is it wise to drink, in this place?>> Kellim admonishes. <<Especially after the beer.>>

<<If I'm going to make conversation with him?>> Gene responds, sliding a wrinkled American ten dollar bill across the scratched bar counter. <<Yes.>>

He takes his drink, which arrives in short order, and sips thoughtfully.

He winces.

<<Right. We've sat down in the middle of a fire fight.>>

<<You're armed, if you recall.>>

<<Don't you think I know that?>> Gene snaps.

"Excuse me," he says, leaning forward after an especially big gulp of sweetened liquor. "Haviss. Could you please not shoot that Andalite?"

Elriss turns to Kellim and hisses, "You're one of them! One of the Andalite sympathizers!" Her face is drawn into a snarl as she whispers back to Haviss, "You were right."

Her eyes narrow, and she fingers her Dracon as she glares at Gene, doing her best to also keep an eye on the Andalite, "Unless you just meant that we shoul' interrogate him instead. I'm sure that's what you meant."

Suddenly, Venvolar's eyes widened, as though in shock. The middle of its chest began to lighten in color, slowly at first, and then faster and faster, the change in color spreading from its chest and up to its head and down its arms and legs. The color became lighter and lighter until the entire creature was washed out in white, but it continued to lighten, casting its own glow across the dim, dingy bar.

"Genwa..." came the voice of terrified young boy, squeaked out from within the glow "Help..." and without another word, the creature disintegrated into a burst of tiny white sparks, which floated away for only a brief moment before going out all at once.

"Boom, baby!" shouted a voice enthusiastically, and there, standing behind where the creature had been, was... a reindeer? It winced, "Whoa. Sorry. That sounded way too Comet."

"If you shoot one Andalite, not only will his comrades come running, but they'll have no reason not to destroy you," Gene replies with a shrug, sipping his drink. "Put the weapon away, he looks harmless."

Haviss' attention is pulled away by Kellim's interruption, and his sneer only intensifies. "You do not tell me what to do with my weapon," he says lowly, dangerously. His eyes flicker to Elriss. "Despite your claims, I do not know you, traitor. I have no reason to listen to you."

The Andalite had evidently expected a more encouraging response to his announcement. Frowning a little with his eyes, he turns in a full circle, despite the fact that his stalk eyes render the motion useless. His tail swishes restlessly until his main eyes fall upon the small group of infested humans, and Gallant.

<Yeerks!> he exclaims, his eyes trailing down Elriss and Haviss' Imperial uniforms. Rather than sounding furious or hateful, he sounds delighted. <What a wonderful coincidence! This is perfect!> He abandons his apparent plans of destroying his ship, for the moment at least, and approaches the four humans with a pleasant smile. He stops just a few feet in front of them, bowing his upper body a few inches.

<It is a pleasure to be in your presence,> he says formally. <My name is Zaretil-Moreth-Kiluron, at your service.>

Ike was going to leave, but Venvolar disappeared, some talking deer showed up, and the andalite had pretty much the opposite reaction to controllers than he expected. After a few moment's thought, he decided that he wasn't responsible for this guy if he chose to talk with the Yeerks. He went out to his ship to get another gun and some items.

They were four round objects that might resemble foggy crystal balls, little bigger than baseballs. They would help to clear the area, and allow The One to find someone if they were far from a shrine. He waited for Mar before continuing to the lake.
