"Curiosity," Zorish says simply, swirling his glass. "This place..." he gestures to the bar at large, "seems like a rather intriguing establishment. The very fact that I am able to inquire about my own death, and to those who have seen and taken part in it, makes this place an anomoly worth investigating."

Zorish snorts slightly, smirking into his drink as he takes another sip. "Eloquently said, Andalite. May I ask whether you were actively seeking out the bar when you were 'flying in a ship'? You introduced yourself as the Captain of a Dome Ship, which I assume means that you have a large number of crew at your disposal, most of which do not appear to be present. What is so important about this place that you would cease operations on an entire Dome Ship?"

Efaen sidesteps a human-looking creature, and a small crowd that seems to have gathered around it. From a quick glance it appears as if the human is mortally wounded: not any of her concern. Ignoring the small knot of concerned onlookers, Efaen makes her way out of the bar, pausing just beyond the door to breathe deeply. The bar itself was beginning to become rather crowded, and her Andalite sensibilities had been yearning for the wider spaces of the outside.

Her pause is brief, and she quickly resumes walking, headed towards the ship yard and the last place she had seen the Skimmer. Efaen has no doubt that she will find Corliss at his ship; it is, after all, where he had left Terenia. Where one was to be found, the other was likely to be as well. She contemplates calling them directly via her comm link, but decides against it. It would be easy enough for Corliss to simply refuse to accept the communication. Easy and relatively likely, given his mood lately. Her thought-speech would be somewhat more difficult to block out.

"I don't know," Terenia gripes, glaring at the holosreen in frustration. "I can read a word here and there, and so can Mike, so we get the gist of it. I just don't want to screw anything up. Knowing my luck I'd blow the whole ship up on accident."

Van blinked in response to Al's question, and nodded. Though he was still rather surprised by the appearance and severity of the man's wounds, time was of the essence!

The Pirate quickly gestured at Ogreon, and stated, "Nichaa, Ogreon-ku has a ship nearby with a sufficiently advanced medbay. Ogreon, can't you beam him to the Urtahn, mmm chaa, now?!"

The sights one can see while near death are awe-inspiring and unique. Some people claim to have their life flash before their eyes. Others claim to see their loved ones who have passed on as well as their religious Deity. Most claim to see a tunnel with a light at the end. What this man saw though was not comforting, but nightmarish images that have haunted him.

The battles he had fought with the demons played before his eyes. Blood Raven, The Countess, Andariel, The Summoner, Duriel, Mephisto. All of them had spilt his blood, but never as much as Diablo had. He felt that this was the end and he would die before his quest was complete. However fate was once again going to be by his side.

He slowly regains consciousness and opens his eyes. Above him he sees a human female and human male. He also sees a being that looked like an Elf. He feels along his chest and discovers that his wounds have been closed, however he knows that he still has internal wounds. He can feel the pain from them as he breathes and he knows he can still die. He turns his eyes, which are a true anomaly as his right eye is a sapphire blue and his left eye is an emerald green, towards the female.

"Please....help....i n...inter..ternal.. ....wounds." He manages to gasp out as the pain begins to intensify.

Rathien waves off in Al's direction, still not certain of the Android's identity.  "One must be ready to treat his own wounds if he truly wishes to maintain his Dream, given my line of...work."

He watches as the stranger regains consciousness for a moment... "Hmm...as I said, there's little I can do to treat internal injuries."

"What? No, I don't.. I don't have anything like uh ,... that..." Jasper said, pulled from his distracted stare. "Is... there anything I can do, or... I can .. I dunno...."

<<Stay out of the way, I guess.>> Jasper finished quietly.
<<First aid and trauma response aren't skills of ours. No use regretting it.>>
<<But... this guy is dying...>>
<<We weren't much help to the lady with the gunshot wound, either.>> Sapttus said.
<<Yeah, but....>> Jasper wasn't sure how to respond to that one. <<Oh good, someone has a med bay....>>

"Napkins." Sapttus blurted out loud.
<<What? I don't think that'll ->>
<<Not the paper ones you dope. Let's see if the bartender has any fabric ones.>>
<<I .. guess. Yeah, that sounds smart.>>
"Be right back." They got out of their seat, leaving the elephant and pocketknife at the table, and went quickly to the bar. "We need some good quality napkins, and fast." Sapttus said. The bartender gave him that dumb cow-in-head-lights look again. "Um.. please?" Jasper added.

Ewa was shocked to find Rathien had joined her, but he was infinitely more useful than she was.  In moments there were no longer any gashes for her to hold shut, so she bit down on the pad of her forefinger and placed it on the actor's temple.  It would make her more open to his communication if he was beyond using his body.  She wouldn't have needed to do that if he'd been one her family--they were already well attuned to one another.  Hopefully it just looked like I was biting my nails and now I'm supporting his head.  And hopefully that injection included unimprinted supplements.

Rathien continued to confuse her.  He was not the sort of man to care about the death of a complete stranger, but by the same token shouldn't have cared enough about her--or anyone--to do something he found boring and unnecessary.  There's something about his motivation I just don't understand... unless.... maybe there are no safety mechanisms other than the other actors.... if he really would have died without help, maybe Rathien had to bend a bit?  Ewa was beginning to wonder if maybe this scape wasn't actually sanctioned at all.

"Thank you," she told Rathien very sincerely, just as Al approached.  A moment later the man regained consciousness and managed to get out that he had internal injuries.

Ewa frowned, checked her forefinger, then rubbed the skin at his temple.  What's going on?  There had been no mistaking his hacked and bloody body for anything other than truly injured, but she felt not even the slightest whisper of a mind reaching out to her own.  It was wrong, just--

She pulled herself away from those thoughts as everyone debated what to do next and a cold Andalite female stepped over the body with scarcely a glance.

"Let's start moving him to the back then.  Ogreon can teleport him from anywhere, once he's ready."  She moved to help lift his legs and waited for someone to take the heavier torso.

The female said something about moving him to the back of the building while lifting his legs. At this point a wave of pain hit him with such intensity that he screamed with such intensity that everyone even near this building had to hear it. He also began coughing up copious amounts of blood. "Don....Don't mo...move...me." He managed to gasp out. "You....ma...make wo.......wounds..wo r...worse."

The man began to hyperventilate and was becoming less coherent. He was fighting to stay alive, but it was going to be an enduring battle. These people were trying to help, but they weren't moving fast enough. He took a pain-filled deep breath and gasped out painfully. "Please hurry, my death is near."

The sound of the injured man's scream startled Van and made him shudder. His own senses were being overwhelmed by the scent of coming death, but Rathien had made it apparent that this guy wasn't going to die; at least, not by the Hunter's hand.

Either way, he needed to be moved, and not too physically, either. Painkiller just might make his body go into shock or shut down from the numbness, so transporting him elsewhere with better equipment was necessary.

"Ogreon-ku, can you teleport him to the bed, gabo... Anh, now?! The transporter-nyah you've got can do that, right? Mmm, chaasi?"

Van was worried, however he was also perhaps more preoccupied with getting this savagely wounded man out of here. The man looked like he had been attacked by an Argraavi who somehow failed to finish off his kill. It was disgusting.

"Zangnaa! I really not want to get in the way of the whatever being that attacked him.... "

Ogreon heard Van talking to him. He'd been trying to reason why an Alvie unit had just been here and didnt assimilate anyone...

"Suüp? Oh, Van, my apologies. I was absorbed in thought...what was that you were saying?"

He looked around to get his bearings again, and spotted a wounded man on the floor...badly injured.

"Iernz! Who is this?"

Al looked back over his shoulder at the wounded man's scream, then back at Ogreon. "No idea, but he's badly injured, and if we can't stabilize him, I don't think he'll make it long. Van said you have medical facilities and some kind of transporter. Can you help him out?" He stepped back over to the man and knelt down- Rathien had done a better job of patching him up than Al would have been able to, considering his utter lack of medical supplies. He looked at Ewa and Rathien, "Apparently moving him isn't a great idea. Nobody around here's really a medic as far as I know. Hopefully he hasn't found us just to die on our doorstep," he said, looking back at the man with concern.

The man began to hyperventilate and was becoming less coherent. "Please hurry, my death is near."

Ewa froze, then narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the wounded man, becoming angry.  There is no way someone that injured would keep speaking!  He's killing himself, she thought disgustedly.  That, or somehow these wounds were fake, and everyone was silently laughing at her gullibility.

Still, she was gentle about setting his legs down and moving away.  She held her hands out away from her body to try to minimize how much more blood she got on her clothes.  Really, she didn't doubt that he was truly and seriously injured--far beyond what any remotely sane person would be willing to do for a role.  But his mind was complete shut off while he continued to hurt himself by using his body to communicate.  Ewa didn't think she was physically capable of doing something like that, in that state.  With injuries that serious, a Paladinian body would go into lock down.  Except to draw attention initially, she wouldn't be able to talk--much less scream so violently.

Well, regardless of what's going on here, there's absolutely nothing I can do.  Maybe he's mentally unstable and done this on purpose...  She took a slow breath and gave herself the appropriate mental distance she needed.

"I think you had best take him, Ogreon.  It seems the rest of us can't do much more to help."

She turned to Al.  "Is there a washroom around here?  I'd like to get rid of some of this blood before it becomes a permanent fixture."

He nodded quickly, "Of course, why am I asking questions? Ogreon to Urtahn, two for emergency transport to sickbay."

"Aye, sir...", came the voice of Ogreon's first officer.

Ogreon grabbed the man's shoulder gently so that when they locked onto his signal, they would get him too. Then Ogreon thought...

"Ogreon to Urtahn, standby..."

He turned to Van quickly, "Are you coming too, Vweknd?", he asked, managing not to slur the words as he spoke fast. He had been speaking Klunti this whole time, so he didn't notice that his universal translator was malfunctioning.

<<Tell him I don't know how to find Salem's signal from here,>> Mike says, an edge of panic rising in his voice.  <<See all those signals?  I know the Yeerk ones, and the Andalite ones, at least by their color...but which one is Salem?>>

Corliss swims in impatient circles, waiting for news of his ship's condition and above all, clearance for them all to go home.

"Mike doesn't know which one is Salem," Terenia says to Illim, her voice thick with frustration,  a strange combination of his British lilt and her own midwestern dialect. "I need to open a connection with him and I can't tell who I'm freaking calling."

Illim frowns and then gives a placating nod. "Alright, alright, just hang on." Then he grins at Terenia's garbled accent and says in a frighteningly good impression of Mike's, "Budge up, will ya?"

He moves closer to the screen around them, studying the signals and discarding a few off the bat. "Lessee..." he murmurs, tracking Derrel's finger across the readout. "This one. Appropriately alien. That's my guess, anyway," he sighs, stepping back.
