Salem actually laughed in response to Rathien's comment, "Yeah, I know, I'm a classic coward. The brave and virtuous end up dead early, and yet I'm still here. Kinda makes you wonder who's really right, doesn't it?" He grinned, "I guess you really are a lot like me, hunter. You're looking for the right opportunities, and you'll take a lesser one if you have to." He tipped his hat slightly, smirking, "Rathien, you're an Ildari after my own heart. Resourceful and motivated. It's a shame you try to kill me every time we meet."
He then turned to Mar with a grin, "If you can figure out how to enter my world, you're welcome to try. If you find it, you might want to drag Al and I along. We've been gone a while. Seem to have crazies trying to kill us the whole way, too," he said, jerking his thumb pointedly at Rathien. "Speaking of which..." he looked back at the hunter, "Rathien, have you seen Thienal lately? It'd be nice if I could keep tabs on him. He's easier to evade than you, but every bit as obnoxious."
He shook his head. "So, would you like to come to my ship?" he asked Mar. "I have a few things that I have the desire to keep to myself, but it's usually tied directly to its real value to me. Would you know an object with... immortal energy if you saw it?" He gestured towards the door, "After you, of course."
Al nodded at Jasper, "Yeah, stuff here kinda seems to revolve around the whole Yeerk-and-Andalite thing. Which might explain why Salem and I are here. We've actually spent a fair amount of time in that era. Or this era, if that's how this place works." He rolled his eyes, "Time here's kinda ridiculous."
He smirked at Ewa's little joke, "So's space, apparently, if you think stuff's that different just based on looks. Now you guy's've got me curious, though." He looked from Van to Ewa to Jasper, "What's stuff like where you're from?"
