Salem had also realized that the swordsman had apparently disappeared. That was odd. And Ossanlin... Ossanlin had run to Mar and collapsed? Something was very wrong with the whole scene.
Al, in the meantime, had been interfacing with the ship's computer, and had found evidence of the power the two beings had been utilizing in the fight.
"Hey, Salem, check this out," he said, causing the interior of the ship to begin replaying portions of the fight, in slow motion and with markers, trails and labels denoting things that hadn't shown up on the previous display.
Salem watched intently. For about two seconds. At that moment, Sapptus took control of Jasper again and began running around looking for a 'lemur,' whatever that was.
"The hell...?" Salem muttered, instantly on guard. As he fingered the gun in his holster, looking around for a threat, he yelled, "Jasper, what is going on!?" Sapptus ran at him with the Teslican inversion coil he'd grabbed, looking as if he was ready to swing, and Salem dove out of the way, more out of instinct than anything else. He rolled somewhat clumsily, banging his shin on one of the shelves and knocking some of his collected alien goodies to the ground.
