"Yeah, that's right. On their Homeworld, there wasn't any where near enough for all of them. Then again, I guess there wouldn't have been as many Yeerks then as there are now." Jasper was beginning to think he should be careful what he said. Sapttus had seemed to think that holding on to information was the way to go for now, especially while dealing with Salem. He felt nervous about setting him down, but wanted to comply anyways. He went over to the counter space he'd cleared. "Is it uh.. clean?" He felt like it would be rude to just drop his friend down on dust and stuff, considering that Yeerks absorbed things through their skin.  Jasper flinched at the sudden upstart of 'music' - really, he just figured it was radio static or something to that effect - but tried not to overreact to it. If Al had decided to dance to it, it probably wasn't a self-destruct signal.

Sapttus was vaguely aware of movement. It was nerve wracking. He absolutely despised this part of his species. The grooves and lines in Jasper's somewhat calloused hand were of some comfort to him, allowing him to feel ever-so-slightly 'at home'. He allowed himself to spread out just a little, not like he would over Jasper's brain, but he merely filled into the gaps between his fingers. He focused intently on the salts and oils on his hands... it was the only sensation that he really had to consider at the moment. That was, until the sound started. He could pick up the vibrations, though he really doubted that it was supposed to sound like what he was making out. It was.. rather frightening, actually, but at least it was something else to take his mind off of the nothingness around him. This is what it must have felt like to  be buried alive, he thought. Not that he'd ever experienced that of course, but he'd seen enough of human television to be familiar with the concept. Why that was considered entertainment, he wasn't sure. The only good human TV programming he'd ever discovered was that show 'Wheel of Fortune', and maybe one of those hospital shows. He liked the one with the grumpy doctor with the cane. ....

The decrepit star ship set down a short ways from the bar. A human walked down the ramp. His name was Jacob Hanson. He was about 5'4", with dark hair and non descript clothes, a jacket, a knit cap, and flexible pants. Over all he was unremarkable, except for maybe the fact the he was well lean and wiry. He walked past the Andalites and others. He caught a flash and traced it, his cybernetics making it possible to pinpoint the location of the being to the inch. He couldn't exactly see him he could just see where the blur was currently.
He dismissed it as a bar room brawl or challenge of some sort. The one combatant was rather fast. He could tell that he was human. Normal vital points. When he walked inside he saw a human standing in the middle of the room that appeared to be resting. Jacob went to the bar and ordered a non-achohlic drink. Jacob preferred to keep his best tool, his enhanced perception, undulled.

Salem nodded, "It's clean. I can heat it too, if you'd like. Think he'd be more comfortable if it was around the temperature of your hand?" He was feeling more than a little guilty. If that was a Yeerk, that meant he'd been responsible for... awful things.

He shook his head. He knew being nice to Sapptus wouldn't help to fix anything he'd done in the past, but if it would ease his guilt for the moment. The more he was able to think, the fainter he felt- he hoped it wasn't showing on his face.

He cleared his throat, "So, Yeerks don't leave their hosts often, then. When you two are... together, you're obviously in communication somehow. How does that work? Are you sharing thoughts like you share control?" He stroked the wall, so that a drawer protruded from the smooth surface a few feet from where he was standing. He reached in and grabbed another couple of instruments.

"Um.. yeah, sure..." Jasper said. Surely it wouldn't hurt for it to be heated a little, too. Jasper knew that he wasn't exactly a fan of cold metal on skin, and surely Sapttus would agree.

"Well, most Yeerks have to leave every three days or so. The Oatmeal Addiction actually uh... " he hadn't meant to reveal more information, but.. it was too late now. He cleared his throat. "... makes it so that Sapttus doesn't need Kandrona Rays anymore. That's how he can stay for so long. But uh, yeah, we just kinda think to each other. Technically, he's actually reading my thoughts, but he chooses to share his with me. Well, usually."

"And I'm sorry if this is uh.. rude or anything, but... it's just so cool that you're an android. Oh, uh, excuse me, I uh.. I mean an AI." He wasn't exactly sure what kind of etiquette one exercised around artificial beings.

Al caused his hologram to flicker a few times as it turned back on, like a fluorescent light bulb, than looked at Jasper and laughed. "Android, AI... it's all the same thing to me. The Plarrid might have preferences, but they're not really either one." He smiled, "And thank you. I think it's pretty cool that you're an organic. Being artificial isn't really all it's cracked up to be. I can't even get properly drunk."

Salem walked back to the 'workbench' with still more gadgets in his hands and pockets. He turned to look at Al with his eyebrows raised, "No, you've got it better. You can turn off your drunkenness if you need to."

Al shook his head, "Yeah, and even when I'm letting myself let myself go, I don't feel it like you do. It's still purely simulated."

Salem sighed and set down some of the stuff he was carrying, muttering something about "Of all the reasons to want to be biological..." He placed his hand on the spot he'd cleared for Sapptus and thought-spoke a few commands to the ship, then turned to Jasper. "You're going to have to bear with me here. What are Kandrona Rays? And when you say every three days... is that Yeerk days? Or... what, Earth days? You're from Earth, right?" He lifted his hand as the spot reached what he judged to be a comfortable temperature- for as long as he'd had this ship, he was still impressed by how well the systems worked. It was definitely nicer than even the Crimson High he'd been using before this one.

"This should be ready for him," he said, indicating the cleared spot.

Jasper couldn't help but laugh. He wasn't into drinking, but it was just doggone hilarious that *that* was the main attractor for being 'organic' in Al's mind. "Woo, man, that's funny. There's a lot more to being uh, organic, than getting drunk." He knew there was something, but he was hoping that Al didn't ask him for an example at this very moment. He thought about Salem's question for a second. "Oh, Kandrona Rays are.. they're like sunlight, kinda, I guess, that comes from their sun back on their Homeworld. It has special nutrients and stuff that Yeerks live off of. Normally, they live in pools of this uh, sludgy stuff that absorbs the Kandrona Rays, and they absorb it from that. That's why they leave.. so they can eat. And that's based off of Earth days." Jasper nodded. I .. honestly can't remember how they measure it in Yeerk time. I uh, don't even think they really have a time. They just kinda use whatever time their hosts use, I think. We'll have to ask him once you're done, I guess."

Jasper went ahead and set down Sapttus' two-inch body. It was so weird seeing him like that. An entire person, with personality, opinions, emotions, and everything... he was just so small on his own. He wondered what his Yeerky friend would feel about that thought after coming back...

"Just be careful not to hurt him on accident. Not that... I think you would, but... yeah, I'm just a little paranoid, I guess." He felt odd, again. Who was he to doubt him like that? Surely he'd taken that into account.

Al hung his head in faux disappointment, "I know there are a lot of perks to being organic. Is it too much to ask for me to just be able to try it sometime."

It was Salem's turn to laugh, "You know you're crazy, right?"

Al gave a sly smile, "Built and programmed."

Salem rolled his eyes, a smile still on his face, and turned back to Jasper. "I should be able to get all the scans I need without Sapptus feeling a thing." He began setting up a little silver tripod device in the mess of stuff he'd pushed aside to make space for the Yeerk. "So, the Yeerk can't feed on this... Kandrona radiation from within a host? That's interesting. But you said your instant trail meal eliminates his dependency on it, right?" He glanced over at Al, who also seemed intrigued. Al returned his glance with a shrug.

He tapped the top of the device he'd set up, causing it to emit a greenish beam of light, which began sweeping over Sapptus quickly enough that a grid pattern appeared overlaid on him. Salem also grabbed his persona scanner from his pocket, pointed it at Sapptus, and pressed a few buttons, causing it to trill. He stuck it back in his pocket and grabbed two nearly-identical silver, square devices from the pile of gadgets he'd just laid down. He looked back and forth between them for a second before glancing down at Sapptus. He thought better of using the devices, and put them back down, shuddering as he pictured what they might do to the Yeerk if he guessed a few things about his anatomy incorrectly.

He turned to Jasper, still absentmindedly digging through his pile of gadgets. "Do you have any way we could sample some Kandrona Rays? If they're tied into this addiction, it'd help me a lot to get some scans of what they are."

Ossanlin follows the trail into the bar with his eyes and sighs.  Why did he decide to go into the bar.  Ossanlin sighs and closes his eyes, concentrating on gathering his energy.  He meditates as he waits for Okaru's next move, relaxing, feeling for the strange human's energy signature.

Okaru watched Ossanlin for a moment then sighs, hes saving his time. I have to bring him to me...Okaru thought before wielding both of his blades tightly and side stepping so fast as to seem to fade away slowly.

He brought himself out then around his opponent, then suddenly charged forward swinging his blades intensely, from all angles relentlessly.

Were we foolish, or wise to wait for Claxter? If this humanoid terminated this andalite, who posed no special association or relation to us, did it matter?

<<Claxter, what should we do?>>

|OGREON|

A good size ship enters orbit of the asteroid. It's simple, and can be easily described as a teardrop-like shape, bulbous in front and tapering down to a point in the back, with a saucer on the top-front, and two pyramid-like engines on the side. It is a dark-orangey color with dark red engines on the back of the pyramid engines.

In a definite display that the ship is captained by a member of the Alliance, a small red spot begins to glow in the Bar proper. Then, around it, in the shape of the being, a bright red, glowing, twisting energy comes to life. It is populated by small white glowing spots that skim the surface of the energy in circles. The glow dies down, replaced by Ambassador Ogreon, of the Clangst.

He walks up to the nearest patron, many legs working in unison, "Excuse me. I am wondering where I might find Lieutenant Colonel Vogefac. Have you seen him?"

<<I have been ordered to wait.>> claxter said. <<I have not always obeyed orders, so it is important to show that I can obey them. I am to wait until he really needs me.>> He tensed up again as Okaru showed himself once more and went in for another attack.

Jagill saw a new alien come up and start asking for a guy named Vogefac. He thought about it, but he wasn't aware of anyone named Vogefac at the bar. He did think he might have seen the guy, and know who vogefac was. "No Vogefac here. Sorry. Food and drink inside, if want." He said as he made room for the guy to enter the building.

We processed the information into our calculation matrix, <<Acknowledged.>>

We prepared for Ossanlin to fail. Not that we expected it in any way, just...we prepared.

|OGREON|

Ogreon looked at the Hork-Bajir. For a split moment, he thought it was a Reptilinod. But the Clangst had dealings with the Hork-Bajir race enough to be fooled for only a fraction of a fraction of a second. It was amazing. Besides the blades, the two races really had nothing in common. For one thing, the intelligence of the Hork-Bajir versus the Reptilinod...they were lightyears apart. The reptilinod were carnivores, and used their blades in battle, while the Hork-Bajir were pacifist herbivores. The Reptilinod were yellow, the Hork-Bajir dark green.

Ogreon wondered why he was thinking about that, and nodded to the Hork-Bajir before entering the bar. He saw a few people in there. He walked up to the bartender, "One Chinari Chill please."

Apparently others from his universe had been here before, because the bartender came back a few minutes later with the bright orange drink, served with dry ice. The little mouth on the end of it's trunk smiled in a human fashion. It was quite odd to see.

"Thank you, sir."

The many feet of the Ambassador banged on the floor like a giant centipede as he slurped his drink. He walked over to a window and watched to see if Vogefac was indeed here.

Then he walked over to another patron inside the bar, "Excuse me, have you seen one Lieutenant Colonel Vogefac?"

Jacob looked at the alien. "I just got here." He turned back to his mug of steam liquid. He had not ecountered this species before. He had noted the vital points and stored the knowledge away for future reference.

Ogreon's gaze lowered a bit. No one here seemed to be much help.

"So have I. I'm not used to such...shabby establishments. Don't get me wrong, I've done meetings in wrecks before. But none as seemingly old as this. most were simply wrecks of architecture. I am Ambassador Ogreon, of the Clangst. Have you ever heard of the Alliance?", he tried to make conversation.

Diteca watched from the shadows of the roof. His ability to become almost one with shadows was a new one for sure. Within the past few days he had found himself seeming to be able to..control shadows? And it almost seemed it was his adapted domain.

He kept his eyes on ground where Okaru suddenly begain to swing his blade with incredible speeds.

''The power behind each of those blows must be immense considering his arm will get denser the nearer to the speed of light he gets..'' He murmured outloud, a strage habit of his.
