((ok))

Noah's gaze shifts and focuses in on the man that spoke. She allowed herself one long slow blink to process the information just given to her. Breathe, count to ten she thought while trying to collect herself. With a quick glance downward, she found her sunglasses that had fallen and grabbed them. She slid them on with a practiced gesture as she stood peering about trying to wrap her head around her surroundings.

Her gaze fell back on the man and questioned him trying to keep the tension out of her voice and succeeding. "A bar I believe, but dimensions and timelines? You don't take me for a fool do you?" Noah's voice purred at the end anger trying to rear its big head.

"I guess you can believe what you want. I haven't been here long, but people have been reasonably civil so far. It's a nice place. So where do you come from? Do you drink?" Jocun said, waving the bartender over in case the newcomer wanted anything. The Bartender looked at Noah, but otherwise didn't move.

Squall was mildly surprised at Sami's action, but hugged her back nonetheless. "I was conversing with Jade, but only because she is an Elf. A race that my people believe only exist in the legend stories that we tell the children." Larry pulled back slightly and looked into Sami's eyes before continuing.

"How did your conversation go with Al?" Larry inquired in a tone that could be defined as almost resentful. Although he did try to hide it, the jealousy towards the android was still apparent.

Vogefac looked in the direction Claxter indicated. He did not see the device until Claxter described it...

He slowly picked it up, confused at the crudeness of the device. He walked over and carefully placed the pads on Artemis' body and head. He looked at Claxter, unsure.

"Computer, monitor temperature and pulse of the patient.", Vogefac said, his voice seemed slightly shaky. But that wasn't because he was scared for Artemis' life - which he was. His shaky voice came from the uncertainty he felt when dealing with a medical tactile-interface that received voice commands.

He handed the device to claxter, but before he gave it to him, one of his eye-ridges went up, "Tactile monitoring?", he asked inquisitively.

<Well, it certainly isn't the most state of the art machinery Andalites have. It's just something simple placed in fighters that often don't last a long time due to battles. They won't put the best equipment in a ship that may get shot down in its first fight.>

~The Polkaris~

Ewa waved a hand dismissively at Catie's self-consciousness.  "Just because I don't serve in a military doesn't mean I'm not interested.  It is kind of strange though..."  Her eyebrows drew together thoughtfully.  "Why are you a medical officer when you seem to have much more passion for field work?  No offense or anything, of course."  Ewa held up her hands defensively.  "It's just that you sound so much more excited about your adventures here than being in the medical bay...." Ewa trailed off for a moment before a small smile curled its way wickedly onto her face.  "Or is it maybe that the adventures you had in mind wouldn't really... count... as 'work'?  Or maybe wouldn't be allowed?"

Her eyes narrowed behind her dark glasses, then took a moment to look out the window for anything suspicious. As she focused back on the man Noah rolled her shoulders back appearing to loosen up but truly feeling the short sword hidden down her spine. Her long auburn hair hiding the tip of the hilt and her plane zip up jacket hiding the rest of it. She breathed out resisting the urge to check on the rest of her weapons for fear of giving away their position.

Noah slowly walked towards the man and takes a seat at the bar. She tries to relax a little, but staying on guard not giving her back to the room. She looked up towards the bar tender and spoke. "Gimme a shot of skky vodka and a beer." Some how this combo always calmed her but never took away the brunt of her senses or inhibitions.

She turned back to the man and double checked her barriers making sure she wouldn't have any of her power leak out. Being the powerful wereleopard she was, that was a hard feat to accomplish. Noah held out her hand to him. "Noah, Noah Reese. And I'm from Earth." She allowed herself a small smile. "Sounds odd having to say that."

"Jocun 119. Also from Earth, though it is not my ancestral home. So, are you here on purpose or by accident? I'm here on purpose, though that purpose is just vacation."

She raised an eye brow at him feeling it would be obvious that her entrance and shock was anything but intentional. Noah thought back to what had happened right before she was tumbling into chairs and tables. She remembered being about to challenge her Nimir-Raj, leopard king, to battle for the top spot when his body guard did a spell on her, or at least it must have been a spell to move her through space and, apparently, time if she were to end up here. She wondered if he knew where he had sent her or if it was on purpose to exile her or just get rid of the threat. Noah sighed and answered his question. "It wouldn't seem to be an accident, but it was not me who did it. The guard of the man I was about to challenge to a fight broke the rules and interfered, sending me here." She paused to down the shot in one gulp, then finished. "They'll pay." Her expression hardened as she rubbed her ankle against the leg of her chair without drawing attention to it, feeling the cool metal of the Beretta 84fs cheetah hidden within her boot. The cool thought of seeing him tortured calmed her bubbling anger. She took a sip of her beer and stared blindly in front of her, enjoying the scene playing out within her head.

"Well, you did look quite surprised and made an ungainly entrance. I just wanted to be sure. You are a warrior, yes? Or at least training to be, if you're making challenges? I'm a soldier myself. In fact, I'm an important figure in the Empire that runs the galaxy I'm from. Have you ever heard of Yeerks?"

Her eye brows narrow in the the thoughtful expression and thinks for a moment on how to reply without seeming like an idiot. "I can't say I have. And yes, you could call me a warrior, one of ambition. I am one of the strongest of my pard and am tired of my incompetent leader. It is not against the rules to challenge my leader, just not advised, for you tend to pay with your lives." She takes another swig of her beer holding her tongue on any other information because she does not know the man and his worth. Noah looks at him again in curiosity. "What makes you an important figure?"

"Good diplomatic skills, competence in arms and strategy, and knowing the right people." Jocun said. "That last one is probably most important. So how popular are you with your people? It's always good to have a following, otherwise you'd be overthrown quickly even if you did win your challenge. Do you have a plan in which to improve things that your current leader has neglected?"

Catie's head swayed to-and-fro in a gesture of uncertainty, "Well, I've been working in the med-bay for most of my career, so going on adventures sounds exciting. Plus, if I stuck with my medical career, I probably would reach Lieutenant Senior in...a year or so. This way is quicker."

Then ewa suggested an ulterior motive, "What? Like...pirating or something? Never! I'm an astrofleet officer, and I would never do anything like that!"

Noah nods as he speaks eyes still taking in her surroundings. One comment didn't sit quite well with her but she held her expression a blank thoughtful look. 'knowing the right people' isn't that a cheat. She fights to not laugh because her rank in her pard had nothing to do with the people she knew, just the strength and dominance of herself and those she is willing to protect from their Nimir-Raj.

She smirks mildly at him, letting him feel the intensity of her stare even through the sunglasses.

"Nosey, are we? Information is to be earned, not talked out of someone." She swirls the beer in its bottle and leans over towards the man drawing his eye to a decent, but not inappropriate, amount of cleavage surrounded by her plain long sleeve black shirt. Noah peers over the rim of her glasses allowing him to see the abnormal true vibrant green of her leopard eyes as thoughts play behind her eyes while she speaks.

"If this were a matter of torture though, then we'd be talking."
Noah had always had her sadistic moments, which is why so many of her past enemies are now on her side. They didn't like some of the things she found alluring.

"As a social person, I'd say getting help from people isn't a cheat. Though if that were the only reason a person was in a position of power, I'd say it's very irresponsible." Jocun said. She leaned close, and he could sense her intensity. It was different from the distrust of the admittedly dangerous Prince. She just seemed fierce.

as a Yeerk, he had no interest in the cleavage she was showing, but her closeness made his host pay more attention to the conversation. even though he was 50 years old, that particular body part was still quite functional. He didn't know if he wanted to look at her chest or her eyes more, though Jocun focused on her eyes.

He leaned back in his seat slightly, though he still had a smile on his face. "Are you saying you enjoy a bit of pain? You can feel free to ask me questions, and we might take our conversation to a quieter location."
