Brown bear or black? ;)

You guys have awesome choices. Go ahead and think of two or three morphs you'd want from the zoo, we can spend a bit rping acquiring them. Also (as was mentioned in chat) you can acquire your pet cat, the fly buzzing around your head and so on.

If you say your character acquired seventeen animals though, assume it took them all day and they'd be off screen until they come back to the group.

Hmmm. After a bit of review, I am looking at:

-Hippo or Crocodile
-Bald Eagle
-Dolphin (leaning towards Orca!)

Nice choices.  We can get to the scene where your characters are face to the face with the Blue Box very soon - keep an eye out for FuBar's Alice post.

Thanks!
Er, my list:

Tiger
Wolf or Snake
A raptor. Maybe an owl, red tailed hawk(preferred), or a golden eagle.

I totally said hippo or croc yesterday in Chat.....

Ok, well, I guess we can have some the same, but here goes:

  • Battle: hippo and leopard
  • Air: Steller's Sea Eagle and redtail (if everyone's okay with that)
  • Water: Dolphin
  • Small: mouse, ****roach, flea

Are those okay?

As long as you RP getting your hands on the animal to acquire it with me (playing the animal/any complications that arise) you can definitely get whatever animal you want. These animal choices look sound to me.  You can IC 'claim' an animal as 'yours' such as Rachel with her bear, but as long as another can touch the animal, they can acquire and morph it as well.

I also forgot the " at the beginning of 'Hello, I am Jenny', sorry about that. It *is* speech that you can hear and reply to.  How you convince 'Jenny', Alice's superior Chee will affect how easily you will be granted the Blue Box. Do so convincingly and you can come to a 'drop point' to touch the Box and acquire the Power and be on your way without knowing of the Chee.  Fail to convince her and Alice may have to do some work on the groups behalf.

We *did* mention the Chee volunteering to have holograms of those with compromised identities such as Damien and Kasey to be 'infested' in order for the compromised to have relatively normal lives.  Would you be interested in that?

If so, the fact that you were exposed would have to be explained to 'Jenny'.

I don' think there's any way around it. They saw Kasey and Damien. Damien's mom was there, and Kasey's family (remember, her dad's up for election for Mayor) is plastered all over the news. They'll know those two were there even if we get the list back... I'm thinking that Reece will have to be protected as well, since Sandra knows he was there...

Would the others be okay without protection, if we can get the list? I'm guessing that they weren't noticeable enough in the scrabble to remembered? What do ya'll think?

I think that the group should decide on the Chee matter, I'll watch for your consensus.

I also need every one to make a list of who in their lives is a 'Yeerk'. I've heard a lot of 'his dad is, his mom is'- but please post if your characters have relatives who are Yeerks. I'll be making up NPC bios to interact with you as needed.

Re Alice's "morphs": Due to her morphs being faked by her hologram, Alice doesn't need to acquire anything to 'morph' it. She can excuse this IC by saying she's already acquired whatever animal she 'becomes' before meeting the group, as she's had the 'ability' a while now.

To counter the convenience of this, Seryna has already put a block on Alice being able to thought-speak. I imagine this will become a serious pain-in-the-neck during the time she's trying to convince the others she can morph just like they do.

From cannon I believe Erek received thoughtspeak without any apparant problems, though I don't think he ever transmitted any.

I may have Alice attempt to engineer some way of transmitting thoughtspeak herself over a length of time, but she certainly won't be successful in the near future, or ever dependent on GM's whim. Suffice to say she will never transmit thoughtspeak until/unless GM states her experiments finally succeeded. Meh. It'll prolly never happen, but that doesn't stop Alice trying... ;)

The other major morph-related problem Alice faces is that her real Chee form cannot change size. This is no problem when the 'morph' is bigger than the android, but if she's to morph something smaller, she could not stay within that hologram and therefore could not give it a force-field to make it real - things would just pass right through such a hologram.

Also, if she's projecting a 'small-morph' hologram, her android self would have to remain within hologram-transmission range of it at all times, and preferably line-of-sight too. Depending on situation, either me or the GM may decide to stop Alice's small-morph proceeding beyond a certain (out of range) point.

External holograms do not prevent Alice's android self from keeping a surrounding-hologram, so there would be no 'naked android' walking around trying to keep near the 'small-morph' projection.

If it comes to the point where Alice has to extend a hologram around several people to disguise their presence or what they are doing, all those within the hologram who look her way will see her true android form.

I guess I may be going overboard on the technical again, but it's important to me that people don't see Alice as a godmody character, when she could so easily become such without the restrictions placed upon her.

Alice will not be able to keep up the pretense that she has the same morphing-ability as the rest of the group indefinitely. Indeed the GM may decide a future event to force the issue as part of a plot-line, assuming she hasn't revealed her identity voluntarily in the interim of course.

And of course Alice cannot fly. A projected morph could, up to a finite altitude above which would be out-of-range. To make up for this, I propose Alice be able to jump quite well: Strength and speed is all that's needed for a good jump, and the Chee have those in spades.

Eddie. Now he will have the same morphing powers as the others, and the same restrictions. He will have to acquire things the hard way, with all that entails.

I haven't decided specific morphs for him yet, but I'm giving him an affinity with felines: Having been restricted to a wheelchair for so long, he will relish any morph with that 'liquid steel grace' that all cats have. He will be attempting to get as many feline morphs as he can find, starting with his own pet kitty: Pentium.

Other morphs I'd like for him are: Gorilla, Orangutan, Peragrine Falcon, and a Barn Owl. Though I haven't checked for their availability yet.

Gorilla would certainly useful if Eddie ever has to drive while in a battle-morph...

Oh yes, I know all about that. But as it was so obvious, I didn't see the point in mentioning it.

I didn't feel like posting the more-than-7-pages-worth of exacting details and restrictions related to my Chee character in one go, and what I've thusfar posted should not be considered an exaustive list of what she cannot do.

Fu, I think that what you've said makes sense and keeps Alice as a "grounded" player.

Brad, well, they're currently talking about trying to get the list IC, so we were hoping that if we get it, anyone who they can't be SURE was there would be able to go back to their normal life. It'd make things a lot easier.

I don't think Kasey has any controlers in her life. If we need someone to be, her brother who's away at college could be, and I'm sure her mom could be easily infested...I'm kind of expecting them to both end up as controllers at some point in this RP, due to dad's status.

I vote FOR the Chee helping. :)

I am FOR the Chee helping, and I agree that Alice's powers sound reasonable, and their restrictions a good source for future conflict.

The only Yeerk in Reece's life is (probably) Sandra, assuming the inevitable is occurring at the Sharing meeting.
