Sam looks from Alice to 'Tammy' and reluctantly pets Kasey's furry head, scratching Kasey's ears.  "Good puppy," she says, smiling, almost forgetting that she's just had the craziest night of her entire life, and is not only carrying a gun, but her best friend who is now a snake.  Figures.

She draws the pile of clothing toward her belt as she pats Kasey, covering up the bulge of the gun under her shirt and the quivering snake inside the clothes...she hopes.

In a moment she draws back.  "Look, I'm really sorry, I feel terrible, um, what's your name again?  Jeez.  It feels like high school was forever ago."  She looks at 'Tammy'.  "And if you know where the nearest stop is, I'd really appreciate it.  I'm lost around here."  She searches their faces.  No way they could be aliens.  I'd write all of this all off as a crazy dream, if Jas wasn't a frigging snake right now, she thinks bitterly.

"Yeah! Actually, I think I did," Reece offers. "This is such a crazy coincidence- my mom actually suckered them into joining us inside for a, uh, Tupperware party." Reece laughs. "Small world, huh? Want me to show you the way?"

Alec
"Tupperware?"  The man frowned. "For sure? Uh, sure. yeah. lead the way."

He gave another glance behind him and walked closer towards Reece.

GM  Of the odd space ship, there was no sign.  The forest noises returned, chattering birds and scurrying mammals alike. The gray fox crouched on a nearby fallen tree limb, nibbling on some small bit of some thing.

Christina <I'll hang back,> Christina suggested to Reece. < - no matter how you claim to be one with nature, no need to act more freaky than needed.>

Torrence mentally adopted the fake name that was assigned her as she continued to smile at Sam as Alice negotiated her to pet Kasey - Kit.  Kasey's suggestions were largely ignored, because she couldn't think of a way to reply without sounding like a freak. More so than she looked, anyway.  The older girl wasn't exactly running away, either...

"You sound like you're in a hurry," She smiled at Sam. "- forget to turn off the stove?"

Carefully she slid closer to the woman, with the premise of bending to make sure 'Kit' played nice.

Unable to keep her curiosity to herself, she moved her face closer to Sam, checking out the bundle of clothes that she was shifting. Something alive?  Why was she carrying something alive?

"Oh careful, you're dropping your clothes there-" Blatantly lying, Torrence reached out to 'catch' the clothes, with the intent to feel the bundle and guess what was in there.

Sam instantly drew back.  "Whoa, no, I've got 'em," she says, pressing the clothes closer to her side.  Under Jas' white shirt on top of the pile it was clear if you squeezed that something was indeed squirming inside the clothing...but only if you got a really good handhold.  "Yeah, I have an appointment I'm late for," Sam continues lamely, turning and stepping away from the girls and their dog.  "Sorry!  Gotta run."  She just keeps walking.  Jas was running out of time, and she was suddenly suspicious of them.  Maybe...maybe they really were those alien things?  Yeerks or whatever.

"Sweet, right this way!" Reece replies cheerfully, walking by Alec's side. He does his best to make idle chit-chat as they walk; partially to distract Alec from what's going on around him, partially so that he has an excuse to keep his eyes on the boy at all times. He tries to steer them towards Kasey's house.

Jas felt squeezed as the clothes shifted, Sam responding to the girl trying to touch the clothing.  <Ow, ow, OW!>  Jas didn't clamp down on the response to the pressure-pain that came quickly enough and remembers that he could broadcast thoughts now.  He winced internally, hopefully that hadn't broadcast too loudly.  He coiled and slithered into a more comfortable position within the clothing, his jaw still locked on a death-grip on the nib of his belt, but as he slithered, he felt some of the clothing giving way beneath him and he was suddenly frightened.  Sam had shifted the pile of clothing and he wasn't securely on top of things anymore, he felt his body slipping and coiled up tightly around the belt, but the muscles of his jaw were getting weaker.  He was supporting a good deal more of his weight with that bite than before and he didn't know how much longer his bite would hold.  This was bad...if he fell...what would they do then?!  <Sam...Sam...I'm starting to fall out!>

Sam walked quickly, feeling the clothing start to slip, the weight of Jas-the-snake with it.  "Ah!" she cries, picking up a pant leg as it swings loose and nearly stumbling.  The girls behind her were sure to see her discomfort, if not the bloody snake inside her laundry.  I can write it off as my pet snake, she thinks, sweating.  Jas didn't have much time.  She needed to find somewhere for him to demorph.  She makes a bee-line off the sidewalk, running through someone's yard and into a wooded area behind someone's shed.  There was no one around yet, so she hastily set the clothing down, crouching in the tall grass next to an old paint can and a lawnmower.  "Jas.  Demorph.  I have your clothes, you can't stay like this.  I don't even care right now, I won't leave you stuck as some reptile, alright?"  She could only hope the girls wouldn't follow her.

<TORRENCE! Let go!> Kasey shouts in thought-speak, pulling against the leash in an attempt to bolt after Sam.

Jas slithered out from the clothes, flicking his tongue and working his serpent jaw.  He looked up at Sam.  <What do you suggest Sam?  I mean, I don't think it's been much over an hour...it's gonna be a little odd if they follow you back here to see you suddenly with a guy.  Honestly...I mean, I guess you could say you know these people in these houses, but I think THEY're actually from here, so that would be a bit hard to pull off...I don't know Sam, I don't know...maybe you should go back out there...say you were sick to your stomach or something and had the throw up...stomach flu's going around.  Just grab the clothes and go back out there, you won't have me to worry about anymore.  I can find my way out of here somewhere down the road and meet up with you or something...>

Torrence released Kasey's leash at her insistence, curious what the girl was up to. Playful puppy pursuit, likely much more easy to pull off than a girl.

"Oh no," She remarked to 'Cherise'. "Kit got away."

Acting concerned, but not overly over her 'friendly dog's' antics, she followed Kasey at a slower pace.

So the other girl was carrying a snake. Yet why was she concealing a snake in clothes?

GM Within a few minutes Reece, with Alec following him, had exited the woods in time to see Torrence drop the leash of what looked to be Kasey's dog.

[Just a reminder of what I posted to the OOC a bit ago, only about 20 minutes have elapsed, nowhere near the 2 hour mark. ]

((OOC: Okay, sorry about that, I was thinking earlier that Jas had said there were only 15 minutes left.  Sam's confused, it's stressful :P))

Sam cursed, picking up the clothes again and gently grabbing Jas, concealing him once more.  "I'm sorry, man, it feels like it's been much longer."  She exhales.  "Still, I don't trust them.  And I'm not leaving you here, you idiot."  She walks back out onto the sidewalk, smiling sheepishly.  "Sorry!" she calls to the girls without really looking.  "I thought this was my friend's house.  I think I might've had a little too much to drink.  I'll be fine, though, just gotta find the bus stop.  Have a nice night!"

She hurries along the sidewalk again, suddenly noticing the dog bounding toward her.  "Oh, no...good dog!" she says a little too loudly, and just keeps hurrying.

Eddie, at his appartment. || Alice, in Kasey's neighbourhood.
« Reply #551 on: June 11, 2009, 07:39:01 AM »
I woke up to the sound of scratching. I smiled; I knew who it was. Sure enough, when I cracked an eye open, I found a pair of vertical pupils staring back at me. Pentium sure was cute when he wanted something...

When he noticed I was awake, he started purring and hopped up on the bed beside me, to nuzzle his head into mine. Apparently he was quite hungry, so I got into my chair and wheeled over to the cupboard I kept his food in. Pentium rode on my lap until I stopped, then hopped down and mewled expectantly as I prepared his food and set the dish down for him, whereupon he purred loudly as he tucked-in.

I yawned and stretched, then wheeled over to my bedside cabinet and retrieved my mobile-phone; Hmm, '1 new message'...

'K. wants to meet at her place, you up for it?'

I looked at the timestamp - "Damn!" I exclaimed, realizing how long ago it had been sent. I hastily tapped out a reply:

'I just woke up & saw the msg u sent ages ago; Did I miss the meeting? If not, shall I come by car or by air?'

As I hit 'Send' I remembered why I'd fallen asleep: I'd exhausted myself practising the morphs I'd acquired at The Gardens. As my eyes scanned the appartment, I saw various hints of the morphs that REALLY didn't like being cooped up in this enclosed space. Despite the damage, it made me glad I'd practised alone where I couldn't hurt anyone. My eyes also zeroed-in on tattered pieces of fabric that had once been underwear and swimming-trunks. I looked down and was pleased that the underwear I had on right now had made it through my last few morphs intact.

I got myself washed and dressed while I waited for Torrence's SMS-reply...

I smiled when Samantha petted Kasey-Lab's head. As she pulled back again, she asked my name. "It's Cherise, Cherise Ayre." I supplied, keeping the faux-name Torrence had given me and adding a surname of my own imagination.

Torrence's attempt to 'accidentally' get a feel of what might be in the clothes seemed to spook Samantha, as she made her excuse and tried walking away from us again.

Kasey suddenly informed us via private thought-speak that Samantha's passenger was a snake of some kind. Then she asked me if I thought these two could be Andalites. Well, she didn't actually say 'Andalites' but I knew that's what she meant.

I knew Samantha was no Andalite, of course: I could tell that much just by our conversation. But what of the snake? Yes, it could be a morph... That would usually mean Andalite, but then again they had taken the Escafil, so it could just as easily be a Human in morph. I scrutinized the clothing further - Menswear. Something an Andalite wouldn't necessarily pick to cloth a human morph... I wished I could thought-speak so I could answer Kasey privately, but although I had started working on it my thoughtspeech-upgrade wasn't ready for testing yet.

As Samantha pressed the clothes to her side, my sensors picked up a faint thought-speak signal from her general direction - The snake? - Samantha picked up speed, veering off to one side through someone's yard into some trees where I temporarily lost sight of her.

Kasey told Torrence to let go of her leash, which she did, then she went tearing off after Samantha like it was some kind of game. As Torrence let go, she disguised the move with an exclamation to 'Cherise' about it. I picked up my pace to remain halfway between Kasey and Torrence.

Out of the blue, I heard Torrence's Cell beep, probably to tell her she'd received an SMS. This gave me an idea how I could talk to Kasey: I made my Cell ring with a fake incoming-call, took it out and answered it, talking loudly:

"Hello? Oh, hi Kasey! I'm glad you called - You know that thing you asked me? I think you might be right, or half-right anyway. Why don't you try talking to it? I know you're scared of talking to answering-machines, but maybe they'll answer when they hear your voice?" I waited, as if listening to the person on the end of the phone, while I actually was waiting to see if Kasey responded via thought-speak. I hoped my code hadn't been too cryptic for her... 'answering machine' was code for the snake. I figured if it was someone in morph, they'd be more likely to answer if they heard thoughtspeak. On the other hand, if Samantha was a Controller, we didn't want to give ourselves away to her.

While I waited, I saw Samantha reappear, making a transparent excuse for why she'd dissapeared on us without a proper 'goodbye', then promptly supplying that proper farewell.

Reece waves at Torrence as she unleashes Kasey, and laughs. "Now what's she after?" he asks. He indicates Alec with his thumb. "I found this guy looking for some friends of his- said I could help him out.

Jas slithered around uncomfortably in Sam's grip as she placed him back in the clothing.  <Look, the dog can smell me Sam...this isn't going well...I'd be fine out in the woods...>  Jas sighed to himself as he was carried back out to the pavement inside his clothing, Sam mentioning something about being a friend's house and being drunk.  Well, maybe the drunk excuse would work.  He flicked his tongue inside the clothing, his perch now secure thanks to the rearranging that Sam had done by the woods.  A strange thought occurred to him, Jethsa had said to follow the scanner to something...Sam had followed the scanner.  They didn't really have any strong animal morphs yet...so it couldn't have been a target...what had she been trying to lead them to?  He kept his thoughts to himself as Sam continued to carry him.

((OOC:  Sorry, Jas' sense of time is distorted also, but he thought about it and figured it wasn't much over an hour, even though it's only been 20 minutes.))

((Of course, its stressful. Taking the new interactions into account, we're at 30 minutes. We can probably say 5 interactions (posts) = 10 minutes or I can just state when an hour and a half has passed if Jas doesn't choose to demorph)).

Torrence frowned after Kasey, walking slowly after her. Kasey might be able to find something out more easily without her grabbing for the leash.

Hearing her phone beep from a text message, she flips it open.  Reading from Eddie, she nods and begins to thumb in a reply.
'Yeah, we're still meeting. Left Kasey's house, a few houses over now.  Look for Kasey's dog. Call me when you get here if you can't find us. '

Hitting 'send', she waited for a break in 'Cherise's ' 'conversation. "That was our missing friend, " She relayed. "-he's coming over."

Seeing Reece- and the stranger- she returned his wave.  As they get closer, she speaks to the man in his early twenties- dark skinned, torn clothing and his hands were muddy.

"Hey!  So, you're her friend?  We only met one woman."

She's mindful of how Reece said 'friends'...

Alec

"Yeah, you did." Alec replied to Reece. "Something about a tupperware party?  Didn't really thik they'd be down with that, with... a party going on later."
