Efaen realizes that in her confrontation with Claxter her tail had raised instinctually. Now, with Ossanlin's chastisement, she lowers it again out of respect, turning to respond to him. She keeps a wary stalk eye on Claxter, unsure as of yet whether she can count him as trustworthy.
<<Thank you, War-Prince,>> Efaen mumbles, <<I would like to speak with you regarding my current situation. I still believe that I will be most useful to the cause by returning to Terenia's previous post on the Blade Ship. I am willing to use my resources to pass along information to yourself or any other Captain willing to take on my services. However, there are a few factors which, as Warrior Claxter mentioned, make this a dangerous and possibly impossible task. I was hoping that we could reach some sort of compromise.>>
Efaen pauses, seeking out Terenia. The Yeerk-girl is watching Efaen speak with disinterest. Efaen presses on, knowing that she could lose her control at any moment.
<<There are the usual risks of memory dumps and trackers,>> Efaen admits, <<As long as I remain on the Blade Ship the latter should not be a problem, but the former provides quite an issue. Even if Visser Three only conducts a memory dump on Terenia, he will still be aware of my conversations. I was hoping that you may have a solution to this particular issue.>>
<<My second concern is more recent,>> Efaen hesitates once more, waiting for Terenia to seize control, preventing Efaen from speaking. When it doesn't happen, Efaen continues speaking in rapid thought-speak, <<Terenia has become unstable since the death of her sister. At the moment she seems relatively harmless, steeped as she is in depression over her own foolish action. However, history and my knowledge of humanity indicates that she will cycle through various phases of coping with this grief. I fear that once she leaves her depression behind something much more sinister will surface.>>
