wow this is a really good question. If I had to choose I'd go along the lines of a hawk of some sort. I've always wanted to just fly away on a nice day.

A wolf though would be a pretty good one to be stuck as.

A dog would be a fun animal to be. They know how to have a good time, can be mean if they have to, and are sociable creatures.

The short life span would suck though.

About 10 years of a life span isn't so bad already... Its better to live a good, short life, than a dreadful, long one....  :)

Wolves and Coyotes are both a Helluva lot smarter than foxes. Have you MET a fox? They're cool, but they have a bad habit of hunting the same areas over and over, until something comes along and eats them.
They are also frequent roadkill.
Coyotes are MUCH smarter, and they have better survival skills and a wider range.
Wolves would be a lot more conspicuous, of course, but they make the smartest dogs look like idiots.

ya, but foxes look better. they just have an elegance about them that other canines don't have. except for maybe the jackal, cuz they are fox like.

and yes as a human mind i'd automatically be smarter but still, having the foxes cunning instincts on my side would be cool to

I would maybe pick Andalite or Hork-Bajir or Siberian Tiger or Red-tailed Hawk.
"I realized then that there is a very basic difference between Yeerks and humans.
A human will fight even when he knows he can't win. Maybe our species is just a little crazy.
But human history is full of cases where a handful of guys would fight an entire army. They'd get
stomped, but they'd fight anyway."

If were talking fantasy, than a dragon, or a centaur.
Has anyone ever found an Animorphs/mythology fanfic. That'd be cool 8).
