"Oh man!" I yelped, jumping back automatically as Cassie started to...change, for lack of a better word. Her body shifted in a creepy manner and I felt my stomach jolt suddenly. I turned away until it sounded like she was done, not wanting to lose my breakfast. I looked at Sam when he reacted, realising that she must have finished the transformation. I looked back at the fully-grown horse before me as it neighed and my eyes widened.
"OK, definitely, definitely not a dream." I stared and decided that this was awesome, even if the transformation process was really gross. I glanced at Sam and copied his words, "Yeah, can you talk?" I thought of Elfangor. "The And- Elfangor, he did this thing where he spoke in our heads." I paused and then backed away slightly. Cassie sure did look like a real horse, almost too much like it with her pose and movement. "Uh..." I frowned, thinking. If she turned into a horse, did that mean her brain turned into a horse too? Was she going to bolt and run away or something? I hung back nervously. "Sam...you know the whole turning into an animal thing? Will our minds change too? I mean, will we think like a horse? Because I don't want to turn into a dog and only be able to think about eating dog food." I poked my tongue out in disgust at the thought of eating dog food, waiting for Cassie or Sam to get rid of my doubt.
