I watched Sam follow Cassie and hung back for a while, watching Sam keep up with Cassie as she ran around. I was impressed, I couldn't deny it. Sam was always good at sports from what little I'd seen, but not just anyone who was fit could keep up with a horse for that long. I left the barn to see that Sam and Cassie had just met Jake and Marco and I jogged out to greet them. I hadn't yet arrived there when Marco fell backwards for some reason. I smirked and strolled up to them.
"Hey Jake. Hey klutz." I looked from Jake to Marco to Sam to the horse and frowned. "Hm...last night...aren't we missing someone?" What was his name... I was distracted by a bird diving through the sky and landing on a fence post. Frowning, I looked back at the horse. "Cassie, don't you usually let your patients go quite far from here? Or are they homing hawks?" I guessed it was a hawk because its beak seemed pretty sharp. Then I remembered something. "I...don't wanna be a worrywart or anything, but didn't..." I lowered my voice just in case anyone happened to be taking a walk out here, "Elfangor say that you get stuck as an animal after two hours?" Before anyone could accuse me of being a worrywart, I quickly added, "Yeah yeah, it's only been a few minutes, I know, but..." I trailed off.
