Corliss stepped back, then froze, glaring at Kaitlyn. He was about to say there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell about that, when his thoughts were interrupted by the pilot.
"I think you should do what the kid says," shouted a young white woman with curly brown hair, in jeans and a black jacket, over the drone of the ship. Her voice was a bit harder to recognize now that wasn't blasting through a megaphone, berating everyone for being idiots.
She was standing next to Michael and Tia in the ship, aiming her own Dracon down at Kaitlyn. "Well?" she continued gratingly. "You can kill him, but it'll be the dumbest thing you've ever done." The young woman flashed a quick grin. "What's it gonna be?"
Meanwhile, there was quite a commotion coming from inside The Sharing building. More people were starting to notice that something was very, very wrong outside. Red light flashed off of the brick building, shining in through the windows.
