Esreth raises Terenia's eyebrows, smirking. "What, you're not going to let us finish our beer first?" she asks, taking a sip and remaining seated. "If I wanted to shoot things up, I would have taken the girl to an Imperial outpost or, you know, Earth."

<<It wouldn't be a terrible idea, getting lessons,>> Terenia argues.

<<Terenia, have you seen Corliss shoot a Dracon?>> Esreth asks rhetorically. <<If you really want to improve, just ask him to help. It'd make for an interesting date, that's for sure.>> She giggles inwardly, a sound that makes Terenia let out an internal sigh of exasperation.

Parker again ignores Jocun, accepting his presence, but not outwardly encouraging it. He replies to Esreth with a mirrored smirk of his own, "Of course. I never said when we had to go. Even so, I'm sure the bartender wouldn't mind if you took the drink outside. It, too, would prove a useful training goal. To make your shots with your firing hand, while keeping your drink stable. It would help you isolate your arms' movements and improve your ability to multi-task with weapons."

"Maybe I don't want practice," Gene murmurs uncomfortably, glancing at Terenia. "Are we really going to start shooting clay pigeons?" He snorts. "Or bottles, more like? I can't stay here forever, this was supposed to be a quick stop."

Hesitantly he eyes the bartender, who is staring blankly at the far wall. Gene clears his throat. "He's uh...cheerful."

Esreth looks at Gene in amusement. "Do Dracons really make you that uncomfortable?" she asks, laughing a little. "You must have had a hard time of it in the Empire. If it bothers you, we won't practice until you've, uh, completed your little supply run." Terenia's lips twist into a smirk. "In the meantime, I always enjoy some time with my best friend. You're always so busy, surrounded by your boys." She rolls her eyes dramatically, sinking back into her chair and casually sipping her drink.

"Parker, we'll take a rain check on the shoot out for now," she says, winking at him. "Don't worry, I'll make sure we get some time out there before Terenia and I leave."

"Yeah, let's wait until we're fully inebriated before we start using firearms." Jocun joked. Parker really didn't seem to care for him. Was it just because he had spoken to Keshin? He would probably try to talk with him personally later.

Salem scrambled to his feet as soon as he was able and faced Rathien, ready, as his body finished shifting back to its original self. He was naked, and exhausted, and his head still felt remarkably muddled, but he'd be damned if he was going down without a fight, should Rathien decide to attack.

Not taking his eyes from Rathien, he stooped down and grabbed his grav-pistol from its holster with his left hand, then gathered up his cloak and clothing with his right, holding them against his chest. Keeping Rathien in his peripheral vision, he walked towards the tree and grabbed his strange copper-colored gun, then straightened up and, unselfconscious, started moving cautiously in the direction of the bar.

Parker smiled when Esreth mentioned Gene aversion to dracon fire arms and withdrew his pistol from his left thigh. He brought it up spinning around his finger. As his hand neared chest-level, he grabbed the barrel mid-spin with his right hand and twisted it so the handle was pointing out and held it up to Gene, "Don't like the lasers? You could just use ballistics." He shrugged and let the pistol fall out of his hand. He snatched it mid fall with his left hand and placed it back on his thigh as he said, "But that's if you ever feel up to it."

After Esreth asked for the rain check, Parker lifted his hands in a minute surrendering gesture and replied, "It's alright. It was just a suggestion. Something fun to kill time and not dull our senses." He replies to Gene's assumption, "No, it's not bottles on a fence. A couple of friends and myself erected targets around a section of the forest. Some near, some far, others darting in and out. Though, we had plans to make a projectile thrower, it was never finished."

After Jocun's joke, Parker changed the topic again, "So, Gene, mind if I ask what brought you to your new friends?"

~Rathien~

Rathien continues to watch Salem demorph until he's fully human once more.  He shakes his head, taking a deep breath.  The situation was as it was, and Tobias had gotten the better of him, as much as that grated.  But Rathien has always prided himself on his ability to adapt to and embrace new situations.  Until the status quo can be changed, the situation would exist as it is, he might as well accept it.

After Salem's demorph is complete, Rathien makes no effort to hide his appraising inspection of the "trader's" nudity.  He can't help but run his tongue over a fang with a bit of desire, as he always does with the sight of exposed flesh, whether male or female.  After unabashedly giving Rathien a full view of both front and back, mostly front, to Rathien's enjoyment, Salem turns towards the bar after collecting his things.  Rathien has little choice but to follow the "trader."  He bites back a slightly scathing quip about Salem's apparent inability to morph clothing and decides to pursue a different tack.

"Seeing this side of you, Tobias, I can almost forget my burning desire to end your Dream in the most painful way imaginable."  He grins malevolently at Salem's back.  "So these so-called "nanites"...linked to your vital-signs...can they transmit other, shall we say, "sensations?"  He raises an eyebrow at himself, but he is who he is after all, and since he cannot remedy the situation, he might as well make the most out of it.

"I always make time for my best friend," Gene says, emphasizing the last phrase melodramatically.

He glances at Parker, watching his little display with a raising of an eyebrow. "Terenia might be a relatively new friend, all things considered, but I've been with the rebellion for the last seven years." Gene's amused smile falters a little, and he looks down at his hands. "I came there the usual way, because of a very dear Yeerk friend."

Esreth smiles, reaching over and patting Gene's hand. "And we're glad you did," she says with a reassuring smile. "My life would be much less amusing without you in it. On my list of ways to torment Terenia you are right near the top." She snickers a little, though her expression remains sympathetic.

Salem continued walking, but turned his head to look at Rathien, eyebrows raised. That wasn't what he was expecting. Was the hunter serious? Was he joking? Was that a come-on?

After a moment, Salem chuckled. That would be unexpected. It had been an awfully long time...

"Now there's an idea that I'm tempted to look into." He smiled wryly, still not remotely trusting the hunter, but glad for the moment to be talking rather than fighting. "Don't forget that I use these nanite things too."

As the bar came into sight, Salem glanced down at himself, and with a sigh, began to dress.

~Rathien~

Rathien smirks in a rather predatory manner as Salem turns to look back at him, and then shrugs reading the well-controlled expression of incredulity on Salem's face with practiced ease.  "You have the advantage, and no amount of anger, frustration, b*tching, or complaining will change that.  As long as I'm alive, I can adapt.  You of all people should know how flexible I am.  Well, maybe you don't know about it in certain regards...I think you'd be surprised."  He licks his tongue over a fang again.

"I cannot kill you, but there are many things that exist between here and there."  He chuckles deep in his throat, approaching Salem quite closely, and traces a single claw around the back of Salem's neck as the trader begins to clothe himself.  He moves his mouth close to Salem's ear and whispers.  "Have you ever thought what it might be like to lie with a wolf, Tobias?"  He smirks again, still whispering.  "The danger is half the fun."  He moves his mouth to Salem's other ear, still whispering.  "And the 'forbidden' nature of the things we could do...you may say you don't like danger, but you do.  It...thrills you.  I should know, I'm the same way."  He nips at Salem's ear with a fang, just hard enough to cause a sharp sensation, not hard enough to draw blood, and steps back.

In a conversational tone, he continues.  "Of course that remains to be seen, hmm?  How am I to know you would actually be interested in such a proposal?  After all, you are a master of deception...a chameleon.  You hold all the cards unless these nanites work both ways.  I cannot think you would be so...generous...as that.  But then...even a collared wolf isn't tame."  The devlish grin returns to his face.

Garreth looks perplexed, "Huh. Those must be very secure ships. Do you ever battle any actual life forms; or are they all just robots? They can't be all that much of a challenge, can they?"

Parker raises an eyebrow at Esreth's comment, but stays silent, appreciating the momtent. He waits a moment before asking, "See much, or are you in the filing department?"

~Raile~

"Most droids aren't that much of a challenge, you're right...but they come in hordes to try an Ithorian's patience.  The newer-model battle droids were more difficult, mostly due to their rapid rate of fire and blast shielding.  The most formidable are the droidekas, they have onboard shield generators."  He takes another sip.  "Of course the control units don't have to be onboard an orbiting ship, but it is the preferred method as they're out of reach of ground units.  As for live assailants...the Sith I faced as a trial was quite alive, and there are mercenaries looking for credits, as always.  And now the clones have turned on us..."  He falls silent, taking a long pull from his tumbler.

"Half the time," Esreth says with a laugh. "The other half we do really basic mechanic work. We're not particularly great at it, but it's a nice change of pace from staring at a holoscreen all day. Terenia likes it. Gives her something to think about besides being angry and depressed."
