~Raile~

Raile sits down and glances over at the BT, who holds a tumbler of amber liquid up with an annoyed, expectant look.  Raile frowns momentarily before reaching out through the Force to lift the tumbler from the BT's hand and waft it over to himself.  The BT merely returns to dry-washing another empty tumbler as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred...for all the world looking as if he'd expected that exact result.  Perhaps he had, unlikely as that was.

He nods to his companion.  "Yes, a personal quarrel it seems.  I'm not certain Master Slone would've involved himself as you did.  You did not stop them...you could have restrained them with the Force."  Raile takes a sip from his tumbler, wondering what his companions thought process had been.

"I understand, of course," Serid nods to Ossanlin as he keeps his pace to a mildly brisk walk. Glancing down at the Dracon at his hip, he is surprised to find himself reluctant to leave it, although the reason is certainly sound. Still, when he received this weapon, it was the time at which he had received Illim and been released from the eternal Imperial questioning and probing, allowed some degree of freedom and, astonishingly, friendship. Still, he tells himself firmly, that was an improvement in your situation, but this is one twice-over. At least you are among your own kind now.

Serid turns his gaze over to the War-Prince's face. "I thank you for your concern, sir." But is it truly an improvement? his doubting thoughts persist. "War-Prince, if I may ask," he continues, "do you anticipate having me spend most of my time with you on your ship, or will you give me special assignments offship, given my unique situation, as you have identified it?"

Illim lazily lists in the spinning chair back and forth as he watches Myitt sort through their supplies. He sighs and leans forward, propping elbows on knees. "So what are you two going to do, then? Look to start your own cozy group of rebels?" he raises his eyebrows, watching Tamora.

Garreth pauses a moment to finish chewing. After swallowing, he replies, "Though, in truth, Jedi have no jurisdictional boundaries, I feel as though this place is special. This place has different rules than worlds of our galaxy and universe. I felt that affecting the beings themselves would only anger them further and make me an enemy. I instead chose to diffuse their attacks so that innocents would not be harmed. It wasn't until I feared that the fight would not leave the bar that I thought of affecting the Ildari himself by throwing him out."

He takes a bite of a softer side dish, swallows easily and asks, "May I ask why you did not act at all? You are indeed a knight on your own. You have no master, least of all me. I am but a friend, a colleague. You could have taken control yourself. You did not need my permission to interfere? If you feel as though your master would have done more, why is it you did less?" The question asked was filled with pure curiosity. Raile could sense, through their link, that no negative or pointed emotions were in his feelings.

Tamora peers into the box, then looks up at Illim, shaking her head. "I don't...I don't know what Zorish wants," she says quietly. "This has all happened very quickly, and..." She bites her lip. "He'll have to think of something, if we're going to survive. I'm sure he will, though. He's very good at keeping me safe. Usually."

As Tobias skated off, Parker stowed his shotgun. He followed the construct and replied, "Now what would be the point of yelling out, 'Tobias, draw him to the trap I set up,' when his enemy is in shouting distance as well? It would only cause their little battle to continue further."

He then replied to Al's second statement, "I think a period of non-violence would suffice to bring back the energy of this place." He stopped next to Zoshonel and asked, "So how've you been old friend?"

"Oh, I've been well." Zoshonel said as he floated down fro the roof. "The celebration I left this place for was quite nice. The parties, food, gaes, and a few other things were all excellent. I don't think very many people believed me when I described this place, but that's all fine. Eventually home life got boring again, and I took off. How have you been?"

Parker nodded, following his story. He replied with a sigh, "Confused. I was stranded in Morgan's universe for a year before I could find my way back here. I get back, find Silver, and she spends her whole time away from me. Even now, she's off doing something else. When I first arrived, she seemed so elated that I was back; but then she just sort of floated away after that. Then as the bar usually does, it blew up and here we are. I'm not sure which was better; being lost with purpose, or having found my purpose and now being lost."

"I know what it feels like to lose someone you hoped would be with you always. We Draconeans don't mate for life, so we don't usually get too attached to a single person of the opposite gender. I'm not really familiar with the relationship ins and outs with people who do."

Parker nods, "Well, enough about that. How was it without me? What happened? Or were you gone through that period too?"

Al shrugged, "Non-violence would definitely help, but this place is hugely tense. Maybe a massage parlor...?" he lapsed into what seemed to be a thoughtful daze, but laughed and held out his hand as they reached Zoshonel. "Hey! Name's Al. Pleasure to meet you, my good... er..." he looked Zoshonel up and down, "fellow," he said with a good-natured grin. "What would you say if I opened a massage parlor over there?" he pointed to a mostly-open area near the bar, off the corner of the shipyard.

Salem quickly skated to within viewing distance of Rathien's ship. The woods he'd just come through contained the edges of the trap Al had set up. Skating through, he'd eyed the positioning of the 'illusors' and bombs in his glasses- a handy feature he'd managed to build in only recently. He'd been a bit disappointed to find that the 'explosives' Al had placed were merely grenades, rather than the high-explosives he'd been hoping for. Still, there was nothing for it now. Had to work with what he'd got.

The way he saw it, there were three ways this could go down. Knowing Rathien, the most likely seemed to be that the hunter would have some sort of alarm set up when his ship was approached, and would come right to him. That would be ideal, especially if the Ildari's cloak was indeed malfunctioning. Salem's cloak was far from perfect, but it was enough to give him the advantage this time around.

There was also a possibility of Rathien controlling the ship remotely. It didn't seem like Rathien, but then, the hunter had always managed to surprise him before. Better to be cautious. Salem chose a spot quite close to the ship's hull- it should be in a weapon blind spot, unless he'd missed something, but far enough away to avoid shielding and movement of the ship. At the very least he should have time to react if the ship started moving on its own.

The third possibility, and the one that Salem was secretly hoping for, was that Rathien wouldn't come at all. He smirked at the thought. That would essentially give him free reign to either attempt to hack into the ship, or to set up a booby-trap for the hunter. He was definitely more than equipped for either at the moment.

He hunkered low, and stayed as still as possible- less chance of being seen if he didn't move. He peered into the trees around him, hoping to spot Rathien coming before the hunter could see him. A strange tingling feeling reminded him that he did, in fact, have one more tool at his disposal.

He closed his eyes, and searched around him with the newfound sixth sense Mar had helped him find. It seemed he was getting better at controlling this feeling. He caught glimpses of the tendrils of darkness within darkness. If he could reach them... control them... this fight could be over before it'd begun. So much power to be had there. He reached out with his mind, stroking one of the tendrils as it brushed by him. His touch was more forceful than he'd intended, and the tendril danced away, wildly. Maybe he imagined it, but he thought he saw it twist and shudder; it should have looked painful or frightening, but the impression Salem took from it was one of pleasure. It danced back towards him, through the tendrils. It was as though it was beckoning to him...

Salem was shaken from his vision by a light cutting towards him. That must be Rathien's 'soul.' He still couldn't really tell how positions of things in his new sense corresponded to his other five, but it seemed as though Rathien was approaching from his left somewhere- just out of reach of the trap Salem had set. He cursed, silently, and gazed into the trees, hoping to glimpse the hunter.

"I think I left before you did. I may be wrong. It's been a while. When I left, Temrash was still here and still on speaking terms with Corliss. not to mention corliss still being here. Terenia was still around. That other woman looks like Terenia, but she wears Imperial clothes and smells different."

"Nice to meet you, Al. I'm a Draconean." He said while shaking Al's hand. "a massage parlor sounds interesting. My muscles can get sore if I get into any fights in the bar."

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin nods at Serid, moving continuously towards the Mirage.  He notes the Warrior's trepidation to be relieved of his Yeerk weapon.  <Serid, you are a Warrior now, which means that you have some control over where you are stationed.  You can submit requests for whichever duties you desire, and to serve with whomever you desire.  Your requests can be denied of course, but you are allowed some freedom.>  He scans the area continously with his stalk-eyes, nearing the Mirage.

<I had hoped you would choose to remain with me.  I can make no progress on recovering your natural body if you are elsewhere.  Of course I cannot promise anything either way, but Terenia's results are inspiring.  Since you are truly an Andalite, it should not be as difficult to recover your base genetic code as I had thought.  Of course we have all studied Andalite base-code genetics, no one touches the Escafil device without such generic knowledge, and I should have a species affinity to your true genome.  Still, it will take time and effort on both our accounts.  If, however, you do decided to serve elsewhere or in other manners, I will not be the one to deny your requests.>  He glances at Serid with his main eyes as they reach the Mirage.  He commands the hatch to open before speaking again.

<Right now you are my officer, Serid.  Even if our species would ask you to perform special duties, I have a good amount of say-so in keeping you from assignments you may not enjoy.  If you do leave my employ, I will lose nearly all of the power I currently have to keep you from being...used.>  He stares at Serid's eyes for a moment before breaking eye-contact and continuing up the ramp.  <I am not saying it would happen, it might not...but you know our people just as well as I.  Most of our brothers and sisters are ruthless.  I, on the other hand, am ruthless only when there is no other choice.>

~Rathien~

Rathien nears his ship's location, his proximity detector still emitting its warning.  He hisses to himself as he reaches the small clearing where his ship is concealed, the metallic machine still fully cloaked.  Tobias's capabilities were rather annoying, he knew of no other beings except perhaps the Andalites that could pierce his ship's veil, and they could only succeed with time and a relative idea of where the ship was in the first place.

He tries to remain back in the foliage somewhat, still up on a branch in the canopy, attempting to locate the "trader".  Traitor seems more fitting, though he doesn't know of any true betrayals in Tobias's past.  Still, it seems a fair wager to make.  A soft breeze breathes through the clearing, one of the first hints of any kind of weather that Rathien has noticed on the little planetoid.  He commands the ARC to bring up a ship readout and instructs the ship to transmit iits sensor readout, excluding his own position from the signal just in case Tobias tries to intercept it.  The ARC projects its hologram readout in front of his left eye, showing an overview of the clearing.  Using the orientation and shape of his ship as a reference point, he determines his own position on the map without it being highlighted.  There is only one brightly-glowing signature on the readout.  Rathien smiles to himself as he uses the data to triangulate Salem's exact location in reference to his ship.  Arming the ship's thrusters or weapon systems would no doubt alert Tobias, and unfortunately Rathien doesn't have his multi=phasic rifle which still resides in the ship.  The rifle would make this shot as easy as shooting the side of the bar at point-blank range.  As it is...he is forced to try with his Entroper.  Oh the weapon is certainly accurate, but it's very nature announces its presence much sooner than the projectile beam actually arrives.  The delay is not enough to make any difference to most beings, but crafty Tobias is a different story.

He draws his Entroper and narrows the beam width to one-half a centimeter in diameter.  He levels the weapon at the position where his ARC highlights as Tobias' location and fully charges its reservoir.  He takes a deep breath and holds it, his aim unfaltering.  He gently squeezes the trigger, a beam of molecular destabilization lancing off in Salem's direction at slightly less than the speed of light.  His ARC displays no extra energy signals around him to indicate anything out of the ordinary.

___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ______________

~Raile~

Raile takes a sip of his drink, considering Garreth's observations about this planetoid.  "I must admit there does seem to be a sort of...twisting...aro und this place.  I've never felt anything like it.  At least we can still sense the Force fully...not like Myrkr."  He glances at Garreth's food before looking back up at his companion.

"You seemed to have things in hand...I didn't want to interfere."  He pauses a moment before speaking again.  "I never said my Master would've involved himself more fully...that is, it is not exactly what I said.  Master Slone would more likely have decided that the conflict wasn't his and would've sought to avoid it.  However, if he had decided to intervene, he would've done so with every resource at his disposal to achieve the desired result."  He takes another sip from his tumbler, savoring the liquor before continuing.  "It is simply foreign to me, I suppose due to my tutelage, to intervene partially, or in such a passive and indirect manner."

He chuckles a bit before speaking up again.  "And I am indeed a Knight, you placed me back onto that path, but I still have so much to learn...and no one to teach me.  Besides, it is not uncommon, at least in my time, for Master and former Apprentice turned Knight to continue to work together.  The bond makes us more than the sum of our parts after all."  He smiles before taking another swig, relaxing his forearms on the table and leaning back into the chair.  "It seems an impossible task."  He does not feel despair, not any more...longing perhaps, and a heavy burden of responsibility, but never despair again.  "Even though we have known each other for such a short time, Garreth...I will miss you when we leave this place.  I could wish we were from the same era, but I know the Force is not given to flights of fancy."  He does experience a pang of sadness at the thought of losing this newfound friend, and allows that pang to travel along the bond so that Garreth knows the depth of his sincerity.  No doubt Garreth would want to return to his own time, and rightfully so...but he can't help but harbor a small spark of hope that Garreth might decide to come with him instead.  He had already dismissed the idea of himself traveling to Garreth's time with him...messing with the past could have dire results, and his own mission to rebuild the Jedi after the terrible purge of his time could not be thrown by the wayside.  He keeps that spark of hope from traveling along the bond, it would be wrong of him even to ask Garreth to come with him, but he nurtures the spark in his own mind, something to hold on to.

Garreth nods, taking a swig of his Tarisian Ale and replies, "True, and were we in our galaxy and had the ability to call upon reinforcements in case I did happen to create enemies, I too would have; however, we are cut off from any help other than the Force. Though the Force is helpful here, these beings seem to have abilities that may have unpredictable results."

Garreth listens to Raile's mention of their inevitable departing, feels the genuine sadness transmitted, and replies, "It is indeed a difficult thing to face, losing a friend," he puts his arm around his new friend's shoulder and continues, "Though just as when a newly knighted Jedi is reassigned, you take the lessons and experiences of working with your previous partner and keep the memories and lessons within yourself. We keep them close to ourselves by utilizing what we have learned by our experiences with them." He stabs a piece of the steak before him and holds it up, "Take this for example, before meeting Justor Krell, I'd have never attempted to sample the cuisine in such a strange and random place; but he taught me that just because the environment is hostile at times, " he takes a bite and savors the flavor as he swallows, "doesn't mean the food is."

He smiles and gives the Jedi a comforting pat on the back before taking another bite, "Be it the Force, or this place itself that binds us here, I couldn't say; but I will say this: who's to say they'll let us go at all, or send us to where we left from?"

Parker nods, "No, that sounds about right to me as well. it seems we both lost touch around the same time. Did something happen between Corliss and Temrash? To be honest, I haven't even seen the guy lately. I figured he went on some assignment."

~Raile~

Raile nods a bit at Garreth's response.  He himself was supposed to be beyond the point of overestimating his own abilities or underestimationg those of his enemies.  Garreth had taken a wiser course, given the unknowns involved.  Moderation.

He looks up at the other Jedi's good eye as he places an arm around him.  Quite suddenly Raile is enveloped by a warm feeling...like gold or radiance...he is at first unsure of how to react.  He remains serene, but his serenity seems to be wrapped in a thick blanket in front of a burner on a frigid winter night during a snowstorm.  He had only felt this feeling rarely in his life.  Master Slone was not generous with compliments, but gave them where due.  The rarity had only increased their value, and every one earned from his old master had given him this same feeling.  The spark in the back of his mind glows brightly.

"You're right of course." He smiles a bit and glances at the steak before returning the gesture, his arm finding its way around Garreth's shoulder.  "You claim to be newly knighted, but I believe you to be the much wiser man, Garreth.  Every person brings something new and there is wisdom in that.  But I've always wondered...the Jedi of my time, we are encouraged to detach ourselves from anything we might fear to lose.  I understand that loss of such a thing can lead to the Dark Side, but it would seem that a strong enough will could overcome that pain, with time.  Perhaps we are...selling ourselves short.  We are taught to be compassionate, but not to love.  Why should we not be able to experience everything that life has to offer?  It seems that keeping one's self away from the Dark Side by robbing one's self of the true passion of life is a bit like cheating."  He shakes his head before returning his eyes to Garreth's.  "Listen to me talking like I'm a wisened Master when I know so little...and just had a near brush with the Dark Side myself..."  He chuckles ruefully.

"I hadn't considered never being able to leave.  I...I must admit it has its attractions.  The Galaxy I would return to is not exactly hospitable, and there's so much to do.  Being held here against my will would give me an excuse.  Not to mention we would both remain in the same temporal space."  He smiles a bit wider...the feeling of the figurative blanket snugging around him a little tighter.  "But...I cannot abandon my Galaxy.  Not if I have a choice in the matter.  The Jedi Order remains as long as I survive."  He pauses again for a moment, his serenity wavering only a moment with mixed feelings before he locks it down again.  "As for returning to a different place from whence we came...I must admit to you Garreth that the thought of you traveling with me to my time is...comforting.  I would never ask it of you, I could not ask you to abandon everything, but I must admit a selfish desire for you to do just that.  I apologize."  Cool, calm, serene.  He continues to meet Garreth's gaze and gives another little smile.  He wasn't sure where this all was coming from...he'd never acted this way toward anyone before, not even his old Master.

"Something about Corliss falling for Terenia and becoming irrational. He left because he decided the rebels weren't worth it anymore if corliss was any indication on how they run their place. Hopefully it won't come back to bite him or the rebels in the end. I'm not sure where he is at the moment, or if he'll be coming back."

Parker nodded, "So Corliss found himself a girl, huh? Good for him. I suppose Terenia's a good a girl as any, a bit shorted in the emotional department; but being in her situation, who wouldn't be? So did she join their rebellion; or did she go back to her reluctant boss?"

Garreth shakes his head slightly, he looks at Raile with a twinge of pity, "There you go again, calling it 'loss' and 'pain'. You can't look at it as such, even with death. It's far too selfish of a concept; so is Love, for that matter. You take a person leaving your side as leaving you, abandoning you, hurting you. When most people love someone, you wish to make them yours. If someone is reassigned, or go on a journey you cannot follow, they aren't leaving you. You must think about that person's needs. They are continuing their path, expanding their knowledge, gaining further wisdom, growing. When two people, or a group for that matter, work together long enough, they conform to a pattern. One person takes care of these things, the others handle the other aspects. If you continue in that pattern for too long, you lose the ability to learn the aspects taken care of the others, and you never truly grow. You may become stronger in your fields; but you falter in the other. To grow evenly, you must go to different places, do different things, learn as many lessons as you can. When you've learned all you can, it would hinder the growth of yourself and your friends to stay.

"It's the same with death, 'There is no death, There is only the Force.' Those that leave this realm due to death are not truly dead. They rejoin the Force and are with us always. They too are with us in the things they've taught us, the memories of them, the gifts, debts, and even scars. They have a journey to continue within the Force, we don't know what that journey is, how could we; but Life doesn't end when we shed these bodies, be it forcefully or naturally.

"We are Jedi, servants and protectors of the galaxy. Think about that, 'the galaxy'. All of the galaxy, and we are its protectors. We don't have time for flights such as Love. We can love someone, surely; but to make your life center around one person and spend all your time with them? Give all your attention to them, and like-wise, take all their attention for yourself? How can you protect those in need if you're constantly pining for the attention of someone? You cut yourself off from everyone around you doing so. Who has been cheated then?

"To love someone is not discouraged per se; but to center your life around that person is. To make your whole life about that one individual. Humans love, aliens love, most sapient beings in the galaxy love; it is an emotion we cannot fully control. The key is to accept that love; but put it in its proper place. Our roles as Jedi come before all else."

Garreth listened to Raile's talk of a possible excuse and fulfilling his obligation to continue the Order. He smiles appreciatively, "I can certainly see the temptation of skipping a few thousand years to help re-establish the Jedi Order; but I am indeed needed. I'm sure by now The Jedi Council have received word of Revan's capture; so my role as messenger is no longer needed. However I am still a Jedi Knight, and my place, after all is said and done, is at my colleagues' sides." he looks around the bar, "However I still have a feeling as though I am needed here as well. I believe this to be one of those journeys one must take to further grow and gain knowledge. I will undoubtedly rejoin my fellow Jedi; however, for now, this is the place I am to be."
