"Facinating." Jocun said as the door healed. "And here I thought this place was low tech.

<Maybe it's magic.> Simon said.

<Really? Magic? Well, it does exist in other dimensions. I've seen that.>

Garreth notices the building begin to reassemble itself. He narrows his eyes in disbelief; however keeps his attention on the situation at hand.

Parker sees remnants of the door and frame crawl away from them. Obviously, the bar was healing itself once again. He recalls seeing the bar crawl back to itself, and the hole he had made in the roof whole once more. Nothing about the situation amazed him; but he made a note that the large hole was no longer present, and the door would once again become an obstacle in case of an exit. He saw slight movement entering the doorway. It had to be the man standing where the hole was. He too would be an obstacle if he continued to stand his ground.

"I was going to go get Zorish," Tamora says quietly, looking abashed. "I'd be safer with him. He knows what to do...I..." She bites her trembling lip, shrugging helplessly and glancing towards the back hallway. "This isn't my fight, anyhow," she says in a stronger voice. "What good would it do for me to get myself hurt? Then Zorish wouldn't have any use for me."

Quietly observant, Aya pulls her comm link from her holster and taps out a quick message.

<<This is foolish, Aya,>> Terliss hisses, although he does not take control. <<Everything we have done up until this point has been carefully planned. There is no need to put that plan in danger. This is bigger than the girl, and you know it.>>

<<Shouldn't we keep an eye on her, though?>> Aya protests, not sounding the least bit swayed by Terliss. <<I mean, the base is a dangerous place, and she tends to get hurt a lot.>>

<<This place is dangerous as well.>>

<<Yeah, but we're here. There aren't many people faster with a Dracon than you are, Terliss. You'll protect her.>>

Terliss' snarl is internal, but a brief look of frustration crosses Aya's features. <<You just want to see them together, gauge Terenia's reaction. Stir up trouble.>>

<<Yes, well, there is that,>> Aya murmurs in amusement. <<Look, you're the one out to make the girl miserable. At least let me attempt to make it a little less painful for her.>>

<<And you think showing her her dead sister will achieve that?>>

<<Maybe.>> Aya shrugs outwardly and sends off the message.

Al bounded back into the woods north of the bar and looked around. He began stuffing the devices into various hiding spots, covering an area of a couple hundred yards square, not too far from the bar itself. Into the branches of a tree, he might fling a glowing ball, and under a rock he might stuff an orange cylinder. He had eleven of the balls and two cylinders to place- he moved quickly, but he couldn't help feeling that, for Salem, it wouldn't be quick enough.

Salem's eyes flicked to the man who'd produced an energy sword, and to Jocun. He snorted, but didn't say a word. As though he and Rathien could be convinced to calmly walk outside together, and then fight.

He smirked at Rathien's words. On the one hand, the hunter was talking, and talking a lot, at that. That was good. Saved Salem the trouble of having to stall himself. On the other hand, the things he was saying, though mostly true, could hurt Salem's reputation at this bar. He'd been trying, with moderate success, to project a positive front to this crowd. The last thing he needed was for Rathien to make it that much harder. Never mind the fact that Rathien was still going around calling him Tobias, and very publicly now- he didn't need that name getting out.

He glanced around, briefly- reactions to Rathien's words didn't seem terribly strong, but they definitely had an effect. He cursed silently. Returning his gaze to Rathien, he called over his shoulder to Ossanlin, "I apologize, War Prince. This man is dangerous. I'll try to keep this brief."

To Rathien, he called, "I think you've been spending a bit too much time with Thienal, hunter. Probably want to check your facts before you start accusing me of things you don't understand." As he spoke, he activated his hover boots and glided slowly backwards towards the back hallway. He didn't know how long it would take Al, but if this went downhill, he wanted to have his escape route ready.

"Besides," he grinned, "I am a trader. It's less a 'bit' and more a 'profession.' Something you might look into, Mr. Arm-of-Fate. I could show you what I mean, if you'd just let me perform a quick little procedure on you. Nothing serious."

Garreth relaxed a tad as Tobias walked toward the hallway leading to the back door. Perhaps their confrontation will start outside.

Parker tracked Tobias's movements using his motion detector ; but keeps his eyes on the Ildari.

~Ossanlin~

<I'm surprised you haven't impacted someone with your ship in an effort to help this bounty hunter.>  Ossanlin's tone, while still neutral, is as close wry as it will get.  His stalk eyes continue scanning the room as he directs another private thought at Tamora.  <<If you're worried about safety, I wouldn't exit at least until this particular situation is resolved.  A bit of independence shouldn't harm you.>>

~Rathien~

Rathien grins, baring his fangs before downing the rest of his drink and setting the glass on the counter.  He taps the bar to signal the BT to pour another, which the other does in his characteristic stoic manner.  He brings the glass to his lips and has another sip before he returns to swirling the vessel idly.

"A simple procedure.  One that will see me dead or chained to you irreparably no doubt.  A collar perhaps?  One that will snap down on my neck if you so much as pull the leash?  Perhaps a long-term toxin for which only you have the antidote?  A set of nanobots that obey your directives, a set that will kill me if you die perhaps?  Stop me if I guess it."  He shakes his head.  "Regardless, if you try to collar a wolf, you'll always git bitten in the process."  Tobias really wanted him outside.  A quick survey of the bar reveals that the 'trader's' artificial construct is no longer there.

"Why don't we just sit down and have a drink, hmm?  There's no need to be killing you just yet."  Obviously Tobias has some sort of stake in this place or he wouldn't be trying to move things outside.  Otherwise he would just run, and that would incite a response from Rathien.  But it doesn't seem terribly likely that Tobias is completely willing to abandon this place, so Rathien sees little reason to go chasing after him.  It's likely in any case that the dirty AI is waiting outside, ready with some sort of ambush like before.

Salem grinned at Rathien. The hunter was definitely better at guessing what the "procedure" would entail than Salem'd given him credit for. "There's no need to be killing me at all, hunter. You know what happens if you do." He mimed a mushroom cloud with his left hand and mouthed, "Pow."

He sighed. This 'stalling' thing was not his forte. "Hunter, I'd rather neither of us wind up trying to kill the other, but we both know that's not in the cards. How'm I ever to trust you?"

Al finished placing the final glowing sphere- this one in the hollow in the base of a tree- and trilled Salem's communicator twice, signalling "affirmative."

Salem paused for a moment as his communicator trilled twice. Good. Al was ready. Without dropping his aim from Rathien, he called, <<Alright, Al, if you can hear me, head back to the bar. Better for Rathien to see you.>> After a brief pause, his communicator trilled twice again.

Al moved quickly towards the bar, and around to the front door. He hadn't been looking forward to having to play "spotter" in Salem's little game. Granted, walking into the bar with Rathien didn't seem much better, but at least he didn't have to pretend not to be himself anymore.

He didn't change his hologram from its invisible setting until just before he opened the door- to those nearby, the tuxedo'd man would have appeared to shimmer into view while reaching for the door handle. He opened the door and stepped inside- Salem was pointing his gun at Rathien.

Al sighed, "Seriously? Do you always have to do things the same way?" he called to Salem across the room. He looked around and made for the table at which the rebels were seated.

Despite her fear of him, Tamora finds herself agreeing with Ossanlin, and she stays rooted to the spot, watching the conflict. She is quickly glad that she did not make for the back exit, as one of the strangers seemed to have the same idea. Her eyes flicker back to the front door in time to see a man in a tuxedo walk in. This gives her pause for a second, and she shakes her head in confusion, lowering herself back into her seat.

"I guess I'll wait," she says meekly.

Parker makes note that Al had reappeared. It seemed as though he was going to sit with Myitt.

Garreth watched as the tuxedoed android re-entered the bar. He made a comment and removed himself from the scenario.

Aya quickly grows bored with the stand-off, noting that it has nothing to do with her, and that it is likely too volatile to become profitable. She swivels back around and continues sipping her orange juice, keeping one eye on the potential fight.

Serid raises eyebrows, watching the tense situation from his seat in Myitt and Tamora's booth. "This place seems always to be on the verge of crisis," he murmurs.

"Yeah, no kidding," Illim agrees, his brown eyes following Aya with more attention than he is giving the potential fight. "You think she ran into Keslin on his way out?" he murmurs to Myitt, leaning forward and lowering his voice. "Or is she here, rogue?"

This new development didn't seem to be going anywhere very quickly, and Jocun wasn't sure how to end it. Keshin had been deep in thought for a while, and he was wondering what he might do. He decided to skirt around Salem and the assassin and talk to the new girl.

"Hi there. I'm Jocun 119. Have you been here before?"

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin sniffs disdainfully at Salem before turning his main eyes back on Tamora, leaving a stalk-eye on the tension at hand.  His Shredder remains drawn and held at his side for quick access.  <Terenia told me something of your homelife Tamora, that it was reprehensible in some way.  Tell me, if you would, what would make you abandon your species entirely and voluntarily sacrifice your body to a dominating parasite.>  His tone is not harsh, he keeps the tension from his voice as he continues to watch the situation that might erupt at any moment.

___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ______________

~Rathien~

Rathien chuckles and shakes his head.  "The fact that you dress like a suicide bomber makes little difference if there's not collateral damage to inflict.  Do these people know that with your death your pretty little suit would likely obliterate this entire bar?  Or was that another fact conveniently omitted?"

His eyes flick to the door for a second as Al comes back in...visibly.  He wanted to be seen.  Still, he must've been doing something out there.  "Well, at this point in time, I trust that you have some sort of interest in this place which would explain why you haven't fled or just blown it apart from your ship with me in it.  You trust that I don't like collateral damage.  So we have an accord, if a tenuous and uneasy one."  He takes another sip from his glass and with the vessel still close to his mouth, he gestures at Salem with it, ****ing his head sideways a bit.  "Why do you want me to come outside so badly, Tobias?"  He watches Salem intently...sometime s being direct could foil the cleverest of people.

Aya looks the stranger up and down, memorizing his features. "No, I haven't been here," she says after a moment, smiling brightly despite the tension in the room. "I've been in orbit above the place several times, but it was always Keslin's job to come down and mingle with the common folk." She laughs, shaking back her dark hair.

"Jocun One-One-Nine, I'm Aya. And the quiet guy in my head is Terliss Three-Two-Eight. He won't talk much, so don't bother trying to get to know him." She smirks and offers her right hand in a shake. "So you're a Yeerk, then. A Yeerk who didn't introduce his host right away. Imperial?" She doesn't seem to be offended or particularly wary by the possibility that she is speaking to an Imperial. Just curious.

Tamora jerks in surprise. "What does she know of our homelife? She abandoned it when we were ten." Her voice is harsher than it has been since she entered the bar, and for a moment she is indistinguishable from her sister, the anger on her face overcoming her timidity.

Taking a deep breath she calms herself somewhat, glancing nervously at the conflict between Rathien and Salem before continuing. "My father was a drunk, and he had anger issues. He liked to take them out on Danny and me...and Teresa, when she was there." She shrugs. "It's not like the rest of humanity is much better. Sit through any history class and all you hear about is war and death and endless bloodshed. All of humanity is...we're evil. We don't deserve our freedom."

Simon took control. "I'm Simon. Yeah, my boss is an imperial who sometimes remembers to introduce me, and sometimes doesn't. We're good imperials, though, since the war has been over for more than a century. It's very different, due in no small part to a rebellion. So you're friends with Keshin? we've been helping her out. we usually like to give mercenaries better jobs so they're not always hunting around and doing shady business, but Keshin didn't jump on that wagon right away." The middle aged, in shape man said, shaking her hand.

"We're on vacation, and even though there are people here from a past when the war is still going, Jocun decided to stay and let people experience a better kind of imperial. Needless to say the Andalites aren't wild about us, and the rebel we met isn't as good natured as we expected. There seem to be a good variety of personalities in this bar."

<surely your history books also spoke of great achievements of your people. You cannot focus too much on the bad things. Every civilization does things that future people would likely find cruel and evil, but that's just a sign of things getting better in some places at least.> Claxter said.
