~Rathien~

Rathien breathes deeply as his medical facilities aid in the radiation cleansing process.  He rolls his eyes, cursing under his breath.  Why had those others acted like Tobias's lackeys?  He had had him, and they intervene for what seems to be no particular reason.

He looks over to the rack holding his clothing, armor, and weapons already cleaned and dried since his plunge into the lake.  He'd lost four good darts for nothing.  The computer beeps at him to stop moving and he growls in frustration as he turns his head back to look straight up at the ceiling of his med-bay, completely nude to enhance the speed of the radiation cleansing.  It is simply not his day...

(OOC: I'm just gonna have Bivsitz have left and come back in?)

The Sheyran--an octoped, looking rather symmetric--walks into the restaurant and approaches the bar. "This hole again," it mutters in Galard. "Let's see if you don't have any breen back there. Served in a short, wide bowl, if you please."

The silent bartender dutifully complies, and Bivsitz begins sipping it slowly.

Parker eyes the weird octoped that wanders in and up to the bar. Since both conversations he was surveying weren't really going anywhere; and his conversation with Chris died down, Parker asked the being, "You don't see that many amphibious octopi. Where are you from?"

"By birth? The planet Runtil. Although I've spent the last...third of its year in the Desbadeen system, on a business trip. Believe me, even I see more of my species than I'd like to sometimes."

Parker nodded, "You're an outlaw too, huh? There seem to be a lot of them here."

"Outlaw?" Bivsitz snapped, fiddling with another short silver tube in one back claw. "What do you take me for! Just...certain political differences with my useless co-workers."

Parker noticed the being playing with a silver tube. He tensed a tad, nothing noticeable. He knew not to underestimate an innocent looking bar of metal. His mind was pulled to his Energy sword at his thigh; it too was just an innocent hunk of warped metal. Until the blade is activated of course. Parker calmly replied, "So just an outcast then." He didn't want to ask for details; he had hoped to just coax the information from the being's own free will.

"Oh, I wouldn't say that--exactly. But I'm in no rush to get back to the home system, either. Glad I found this place on the first trip out...it's a bit out of the way, I had no idea it was here. Good for procrastinating."

Parker nodded, "Yeah, the only people who know of this place's existence are those who've stumbled upon it before. Problem is, unless you know exactly how to get back; it's a **** to find your way back here. It took me the better part of a year to find this place again."

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin glances at Mar again as the being speaks.  <I am very little like the rest of my species in a philosophical manner, Mar.  You knew this already.  As for what I saw, I do not know what it is or what it represents.  Perhaps a tangent whereupon I left this bar instead of staying.  I remember interactions with the Rebellion that have never occurred as far as I can tell.  I remember some rather unfortunate events...if this Myitt is from the same Universe as myself, as the one that left, it leaves some rather paradoxical implications...>

Ewa watched distantly as one of the people in front of her looked around and then started walking away.  It seemed like there was something she was supposed to do.... say.... but she wasn't sure why.  I'm just watching from the other side of a watery glass aren't I?  But she wasn't supposed to be.  Something about it all felt off, wrong in that creeping sort of way that starts down in your bones and consumes your body before you have a chance to rationalize it.

She reached back in her mind, trying to find a thread of conversation or action or something to give her some continuity to work with--some sort of indication of what she was supposed to be.  It was like trying to catch a single snowflake in the middle of a blizzard.  Nothing separated.  Nothing clarified.

The second one stopped and looked back at her.  He seemed.... concerned.  Yes, concerned.  There was something....

"Bar," Ewa enunciated slowly, as though the word itself was fragile and uncertain.  She took a deep breath and blinked a few times.  Things seemed to settle behind her eyes, though nothing made sense yet.

"That would be....good," she volunteered somewhat uncertainly.  A breath later she moved to follow the others.

As she reached the one in the tux Ewa experienced a dissociative moment where she felt she should tuck her arm through his.  She even got so far as half-raising her hand before she noticed her skin wasn't as wrinkled as she thought it should be.  Nor was she wearing the silk dress she ought to be.  I really didn't hobble over here like I should have though, so something must have been wrong before that...

She looked back at the man with a question in her eyes.

Salem wandered into the bar and looked around. Busy in here again. That was good. Rathien would probably be less likely to try something. Of course, whether Rathien was even trying to kill him anymore wasn't certain at this point. This situation had to be dealt with.

He narrowed his eyes as he spotted Jocun- he owed the controller for his scans, but Salem was becoming increasingly suspicious of the Yeerk, and now he and Keshin were talking quietly. He hoped their conversation wasn't about him, and if it was, he hoped Keshin wouldn't betray him, but the truth was, mercenaries were always unknowns.

Salem shook himself slightly and glanced at the table where the largest gathering seemed to be- there were a number of strangers, but he had to smile when he spotted Myitt, giving a slight nod in her direction once he caught her eye. They'd left each other on a relatively high note, and he hadn't expected her back so soon.

Salem slid quietly into one of the empty booths near the wall and waited impatiently for Al. As he did so, he closed his eyes and tried to "see" each of the members of the bar using his newfound sense. He was getting better with it. He still couldn't exactly pinpoint positions or tell one being from another, but at least he was becoming relatively certain about the number and relative positions of those nearest him.

Al frowned- something was definitely wrong. Ewa seemed... extremely disoriented. Could it have been something she ate? He thought back, but nothing he remembered her taking in should be any more harmful to a Paladinian than it would to a human. So... drugged? By someone after Salem? Rathien after Salem?

"Come on," he said, putting on a soft smile and reaching for the hand she'd begun to lift to lead her inside. "Let's get you sitting down. A little water couldn't hurt either." He looked concernedly into her eyes, "Ewa, how are you feeling?"

"A bit jumbled," Ewa replied, relaxing slightly at the physical contact.  It was grounding, if not quite as comforting as she expected.  A moment later she realized she had responded to "Ewa" and.... that can't be right, we're in... oh, wait, no.  That was.... It's okay.  She couldn't quite piece together why it was okay--or why she had initially thought it wasn't?--but if it meant one less thing to worry about, this didn't seem the time to question it.

She felt even better once they managed to get within sight of the bar.  Memories and impressions began to stick out and order themselves and she sighed in relief.  "I think I've had some kind of identity aphasia, but it's coming back now."  She looked over at Al, frowning slightly.  "I hope it wasn't disruptive to anything?  Though I guess I would have been removed if it was..." She trailed off as they reached the door.

Parker noticed Salem re-entering the bar. He seemed to be interested that Jocun was chatting with Keshin as well. After he had sat in the booth, Parker almost felt compelled to sit down and inquire about the assassin. When he saw Salem close his eyes, he thought better of it and let him rest. He could always ask another time.

Jocun saw Salem, and was about to wave him over, but the trader narrowed his eyes at him. Was he still suspicious about something. He thought Jocun was hiding something still? He sat down and closed his eyes, so maybe he was still under the effects of whatever the intruder put into him. Or maybe just tired from something else. He really wanted more information on the invisible assassin, but he didn't want to pester Salem.
