"I hope so, too," Corliss says, itching slowly at Mike's black sleeve and hunching his shoulders.  He stares down at the ground.  "Yeah.  Yeah, it'll be good.  You're already used to sort of living on the fringe, living with war."

Hesitantly he glances up at her.  "And, well.  You'll be with us."

Efaen pauses at the bottom of the ramp, her hooves sinking into the muddy gravel of the ship yard. She briefly considers seeking out Claxter and giving him a more proper farewell, but she has a feeling that it would bring on unnecessary doubts. There is no room for her to doubt her decisions. Instead, she takes off at a steady pace, heading for the lake and giving the bar itself a wide berth. Far too much trouble came from that place.

"Yeah," Terenia agrees. "Yeah, that definitely helps." She looks up at him nervously, then lets her gaze drop back down to the ground, shifting awkwardly. I have no freaking idea what I'm doing, she thinks, not for the first time. Her stomach has exploded into a sea of nervous butterflies and she barely understands why. She finds herself thinking back to her conversation with Corliss in the pool. Somehow it had been easier to show affection when she didn't have the benefit of sight.

"Um," she clears her throat, feeling her cheeks grow red. "I guess we should be heading off then, shouldn't we?"

Garreth says nothing to Raile as he continues to feel out the disturbance. He only shakes his head slowly. After a moment, he answers, "If the disturbance persists, or grows further, then we should; however for now we should allow it be. We are not ambassadors here. We are not keepers of order on this planetoid. It is not our place unless harm is to come to others."

Moments after he spoke, he felt the disturbance fade. He nodded saying, "I don't feel it any longer, do you?"

Parker looked down to Silver and saw she was unconscious again. Her adventures and growing powers really took a toll on her body. He carried her to the sick bay and placed her on a bed. He told an attendant to inform him when she awoke and exited the ship.

He walked back toward the bar and saw Terenia exiting Corliss's ship while demorphing. Then a group of individuals exited after her. Ossanlin and Claxter were heading toward The Mirage, while Terenia ran off into the into the treeline toward the lake. Parker still didn't enjoy Claxter's company, even after a year of being away from him; so he sped off toward Terenia. He slowed to a jog as he caught up with her and asked, "Hey Terenia, how've you been?"

"Guess we should," Corliss says quietly, and after a moment's daze he breaks away from holding the small of her back.  "Yeah.  Gotta clean up this bloody mess."

Mechanically he sets about gathering extra cloths and sopping up the gray, viscous water that had coursed across the metal table and onto the floor.

Salem grinned at Simon and opened his 'briefcase.' "First trade is the easy one. All I need is a sample of your DNA, and you can get one of my lovely little items here. These," he said, pulling out a stack of round wafer-shaped objects, "are electronic damper patches. Make them myself. They only last a little while, but they're lifesavers in a tight spot. You're human, right?" he asked, and without waiting for an answer, pulled out a vial filled with a milky white liquid. "Nanites, configured for a few species, humans among them. They'll speed up healing and fight off disease in your body for the rest of your life. Let's see..." he began digging through the case, and set several different items on the bar counter, mumbling information about it as he went. "Paint mixing information, weapon enhancements... work pretty well on Dracons, actually... Oh, here's a good one. Information on the production of Sparkle-Be-Good."

He stopped rummaging. "It all depends on what you want, Simon. I'm flexible."

He turned to Keshin, "Speaking of my nanites, you got them for free." He smiled, to show that he held no hard feelings about it. "How have you been feeling since? Been noticing any increased energy? Or improved healing? Or more overall health?"

He listened intently to Simon's story. So Jocun was his Yeerk. Not only a Yeerk, but an imperial... though from what Simon was saying, they came from a time in the future of the universe he'd come to the bar from. So the Yeerks do win, he thought. That's upsetting. Would he be violating his principles by trading with Simon? Probably not. Even a trade with this "Jocun," by the sound of things, wouldn't be a risk to the Andalites.

"Actually," he began, "it sounds like you're from a ways in my future, but I'm guessing Yeerks are still the same. If your... Jocun... is willing to submit to a quick physiological exam, I can probably get him something extra nice."

When Ewa muttered something about Al being a "showoff," he smiled at her and shrugged, as if to say "it's who I am."

He stood and bowed deeply as a new woman approached the table. "Catie," he said, with a thick French accent, "I welcome you to our table. Please, be seated." He switched back to his normal accent, "Cause, seriously, the more the merrier with this cheerful bunch." He nodded towards Zorish and Mar.

He laughed in response to Zorish's dark comment about being shot, "Hey, you're the one who keeps bringing up your imperialism. As far as I'm concerned, we're all just people here."

"You people are the ones who keep making jabs at my uniform," Zorish retorts, running a finger absentmindedly over one of the crimson Imperial logos that adorns the chest and each sleeve of his one-piece garb. He settles back in the booth, watching Mar and waiting for an answer.

Efaen turns a stalk eye to Parker. She had seen him coming, of course, and slowed slightly to allow him to catch up on what she considers utterly fallible human legs.

<If it is Terenia you wish to speak to,> she says coldly, <Then you are asking the wrong person. She is aboard the Skimmer, with Corliss. No doubt the two of them are copulating by now.> She sneers, her disgust at the affection the two feel towards one another obvious.

"Here, let me help," Terenia says, snatching a few cloths up and dropping to kneel on the floor. She pressed the cloth against the pool water, letting it soak up.

"Corliss," she says while she works. "Do you...do you think I'll actually fit in at your base?" She glances up at him briefly. "I mean, neither of your brothers exactly seemed to love me. Not that I'm exceptionally fond of Myitt myself. But..." she shrugs, having trouble putting her thoughts into words. This was easier when I didn't care what people thought of me, she thinks wryly. But she does care. At least, she cares what Corliss thinks.

"I just don't want to make your life any more difficult," she finishes, lamely.

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin glances at Claxter and nods.  <I hope that we do not...I have had enough of Terenia.  And you need not worry greatly about Efaen, she will maintain contact with me or there will be consequences.>  It is a measure of Ossanlin's tiredness that he volunteers any information regarding Efaen without being asked.

As he walks toward the Mirage, Ossanlin begins to feel somewhat sick, instead of merely weak.  His fur ripples with waves of silver for a nanosecond, but he is too tired to notice.  He moves a hand to his upper body's midsection as his straight path begins to veer unsteadily, as if he has had several drinks more than he should.  He stumbles a bit more and falls against the side of a strange ship he might have recognized as the shell of a gutted and long-abandoned Featherian fighter if he had more presence of mind at the moment.  His entire body continues to lean against its hull as he slowly slides to his knees, his vision graying.  <I...I don't...feel......well.>  With the last word his body finally slumps all the way to the ground, tail coiling limply on the ground beside him.  He remains conscious and able to see as if through a foggy tunnel, but he can't seem to will any of his limbs to move.  It seems to be more than exhaustion...someth ing feels wrong, or at least different.

~Rathien~

Rathien opens his eyes again after napping for a bit.  Watching the entrance had been uninvigorating to say the least.  No one had bothered him on the roof, though he's certain he owes a portion of that to his active camouflage.  He stands from his sitting crouch and walks to the back of the bar roof, leaping nimbly into a forward flip to land sturdily on both feet in front of the back door, camouflage still engaged.

He makes his way in through back and follows a long hallway all the way to the front.  He leans in the door-frame of the hallway, noting the storage room near him where he could duck in if someone decided to use the hallway from either direction.  The only acknowledgement of his presence is the slightest flicker of the Bar Tender's eyes in his direction.  Somewhat unsettling, that.  Rathien frowns a bit, obviously the proprietor of the establishment knew he was there, exactly where he was standing, but no one else so much as glanced indicating that his camouflage is still functioning perfectly.

He stares at Salem, the "human" plying his trade.  Thoughts wander through his head.  What's your game Dreamweaver?  He sits here in front of me, one clean shot and his body would be torn into billions of molecular pieces, yet you do not tell me to kill.  Of course there is no answer, there never is, not directly anyway.  And what's yours Tobias?  Bold that you say you want to hire me.  Is it merely bait to pique my interest?  He continues to gaze at Tobias, his eyes glinting silver-aqua fire behind his camo.

___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________

~Raile~

Raile senses the concentration of the Force disperse as well.  "No, I can no longer feel it.  I can honestly say I have never felt anything like that before.  It felt as if...as if someone or something's presence in the Force grew almost exponentially.  I have never heard of such a thing, but I suppose there are many odd species here."  He thinks back on the strange blueish aliens he'd seen earlier.  "I would admit to feeling very alone if I had not come across a bottle of Reserve...a piece of Corellia here demonstrates at least one prior connection with the Republic.  Or perhaps I should call it the Empire now...everyone else seems to."

A wash of fear mixed with anger wells up inside Raile, but he quashes it mercilessly.  He does not allow himself to think too deeply upon the "Empire".  He is all too aware of the fact that his feelings could and most likely would fester and burn in hatred if he does.  The Empire had destroyed everything he'd sworn to protect.  The Empire had destroyed the Republic....The Empire had killed his former master, much more than just a teacher or a mentor.  He had been a good friend, almost like the father he'd never been allowed to grow up with.  He pushes his feelings away again.  Serenity, peace...that was the way.  Although he knows he should let go of everything he has lost and be no worse for it, he cannot and will not let go of his former master.  The day would come...the Emperor himself would feel the wrath of the people he had trodden upon.

"All of that sounds interesting, though my DNA technically belongs to Jocun. How would the nanites react to the morphing power? I can already heal wounds just fine, so I'm not sure if it would be redundant or actually just be another layer of survivability. Jocun might be interested in this stuff, and it might not be too long before he's done feeding. I can let you talk to him through my communicator if you'd like."

Claxter noticed Efaen leave the ship, but didn't follow. He had said goodbye, and doing that once was all he felt he could do. Ossanlin sounded tiured anyway, and it wasn't too long before he showed other signs of weariness. <Prince Ossanlin!> He said as he collapsed. Claxter wasn't sure if it was just him being that tired, or something more, since he said he didn't feel well. They needed to get to the Mirage, so Claxter began morphing something that could help him. <Don't worry Prince Ossanlin. I'll get you to the Mirage, and we'll get you checked out.>

Corliss hitches a shoulder as he sops up the pool liquid on his hands and knees.  "Why wouldn't you fit in?" he says, pausing to look up at her, sitting back on his haunches.  He laughs lightly.  "If you're judging your ability to fit in based on Myitt, for one thing, you're getting an absolutely skewed view of things.  Reven...he's just busy as hell, and all those little hails we sent him, changing our minds about Efaen?  Yeah, that probably didn't go over too well with him, but hey, it's not your fault."

He turns over one of the dryer cloths and starts at the last of the liquid.  "Anyway, I'll help you feel at home, you know.  Mike and I will.  It's a big transition, and don't think you can make our lives any more difficult than they already are."  He smirks at the metal tiles.  "We made our own bed with that one."

Parker nods in understanding, apparently they succeeded separating Terenia from her host. He scanned his memories searching for the host's name, "Efaen. You've attained independence, congratulations. So where will you go now; back to your family? The rush of battle hasn't dug its claws into you as well, has it?"

Garreth nods slowly regarding Raile's mention of the disturbance. After he mentioned the bar's connection with the Republic, he raised his glass and replied, "They have Tarisian Ale as well. I'm not entirely certain this place recieves any actual shipments of any kind. It seems as though what we desire appears. Think on it, this is a universal nexus, connected to every universe. It seems to have food stuffs for every clientel. This establishment is far too small to contain all that by any conventional means."

Efaen's main eyes tighten ever so slightly. <I am a soldier,> she says flatly. <My job is to play an active role in the eradication of the Yeerk Empire. Returning to my Homeworld would hardly help meet those ends. Now more than ever, it is important that I am productive in this war.>

Terenia smiles at the floor, balling the wet rags up and pulling herself to her feet.

"Thanks, Corliss," she says quietly. "I feel like I'm thanking you a hell of a lot lately, but...well, I wouldn't be here - like this - if it weren't for you and Mike and I...I just appreciate you sticking with me, even if I'm a little crazy and trouble seems to follow me. But, well, what we talked about earlier and all...about being in a...you know," she shrugs, flushing. "As long as you and Mike are willing to keep me around, I'm happy to keep making your life more difficult."

Serid watches the Andalites depart the Skimmer's immediate area until they are out of sight, and then turns to look at Illim. "Well? What will you do now?" he asks.

"Wait," Illim shrugs, leaning against the outside of the ship's hull, folding his arms casually. "I need to follow them to the base, so I won't let them forget I'm here." He ****s his head, considering his friend. "You? You heading back with the silvery one?"

"He is my prince now," Serid responds. "I do not know on what manner of assignment he will place me, but perhaps it will involve activity on his ship. In any case, it will be difficult for us to communicate... although I trust you remember my comm's frequency."

Illim smirks. "Sure do. Let me know if the procedure works out for you, alright? I mean, if you can. I'll be glad to hear it."

The nothlit gives a calm nod. "Very well. Perhaps we will meet again at some other time; I wish you a safe journey to the rebellion and an effective battle alongside the Andalite people... even if they will not admit to the partnership." He gives a small, tight-eyed smile.

"Good luck to you too," Illim smiles in return, more warmly than before. He sighs as Serid turns to walk away in the direction that Ossanlin had gone.

<<Bye Serid.>> Derrel thinks silently.

Simon decided he might as well check on Jocun, since it had been a while. He hailed the ship. "Hey sir. How are you feeling?"

"Nothing quite like a good feeding to put me in a better mood. How's it going on your end?"

"Well I found out a few new things. Including the fact that our Andalite friend was holding out on us, and there was a rebel right in the room."

"I'm not surprised. These guys still think of the Empire as their enemy instead of the benevolent rulers we are."

"I also met a couple of friendly people to contrast the cold reception we've had. One is a trader, and one is a mercenary."

"Be careful around those two, though. Traders and mercenaries often love money above all else."

Claxter finished morphing, and pulled Ossanlin up into a sitting position. Carrying him would be an effort, and a little undignified for the Prince. <I don't suppose I'll be able to get into the Mirage by myself again. I forget if what I used last time will work again or not.>

Parker nodded with appreciation, "Good for you soldier," judging by her reaction to his question, he could tell she was offended by his assumption that she would return home, "I didn't mean to offend you, I assumed you were a civilian. Those of your species don't have clear indicators of rank or whether or not you're even in your military at all. I do-"

Parker's sentence is cut off by hearing a cry out for Ossanlin's name. He turns and sees Claxter morphing over a collapsed Ossanlin. He was changing into a morph, so it's unlikely that he had attacked Ossanlin. Parker looks back to Efaen and says, "I'm sorry, but I have to see if Ossanlin's okay." He ran away from Efaen with impressive speed, even by a quadraped's standard.

He stopped by the changing form of Claxter and Ossanlin's unconscious body. He looks to Claxter and asks, "What happened? Who attacked him?" He keeps an eye on his motion tracker to ensure noone else was around.

Claxter had his back turned, and Parker surprised him. He turned quickly, and his back hair bristled a bit. <Oh. Parker. He wasn't attacked. he's just exhausted from the procedure of giving Terenia back her body. I believe the less I say about her the better.> He said, remembering that Parker actually liked Terenia. <He just needs to get to his ship, and maybe have the computer look him over to make sure there isn't anything more serious than just tiredness.>
