Silver had to force the rest of the drink down. She looked at Parker and nodded softly which still was a bad idea. It caused a headache slight dizziness. "yeah....that....ugh my head....that may be best..."

Jade felt her heart flip as he traced along her cheek. She blushed when he talked about courting her. With her own look around she nodded. "Of course, little crowded in here...." She said softly.

Claxter let Candice rub her hand across his face for a bit, until it started feeling awkward and he pulled back. <I understand that most species do, in fact, have mouths. This makes Andalites kind of a strange species, I suppose. I think our people have always been this way, instead of just evolving from a species that did have a mouth.>

Vogefac listened to Silver, "Well, if ever I find someone from this "Central Government," you have my word they will get a message from me. And it will not be verbal."

He nodded and stood to let Parker out of the seat, "What is it you are doing? Is there any way I may be of assistance?"

Efaen listens to Ossanlin's story with interest. As they reach the edge of the lake she slows to a walk, eventually stopping near the shore to dip a hoof into the clear, cold water. Her main eyes look out across the surface, deep in thought. She avoids looking towards the disrupted grave where Tamora - the original Tamora - had been buried and then unmercifully dug up as Taxxon food.

<Your explanation sounds much like the stories my mother would tell me as a child,> Efaen says at last. <Ellimist and Crayak and silver Andalites with abilities beyond the norm. If I had not seen it myself I would think you took me for an idiot.>

She withdraws her hoof, her thirst quenched. <I am beginning to realize that this place is quite proficient at making the impossible become quite possible. If I were of a more superstitious people I would begin to suspect that it had supernatural properties.>

<What do you mean 'if that makes me happy'?> Terenia repeats, sounding frustrated. <Who cares what makes me happy? It's not about that, you dapsen idiot. If I did what made me happy of course I'd...I'd...> She cuts off, changing tacts. She doesn't want to dwell on how content he had made her feel during those few intimate moments that they had spent together. <Corliss, you've seen yourself what happens to the people I care about. Do you really want to get tangled up in that? Do you want to be the next Tamora or the next Danny?>

Zorish makes it back to his ship, temporarily uncloaking the slightly larger than average Bug Fighter. He ascends the ramp, sealing the hatch tightly behind him and approaches the primary computer console. He squints at the holographic screen, Tamora's fingers moving deftly as he enters in commands.

Parker moved out of the booth and stood by Silver. He waited for her to stand of her own accord. He asked, "Do you just want to lie down outside, or should I help you to your father's ship?"

He answered Vogefac, "I'm going to help her rest where she wishes."

Lucan put his visor back on his face covering his eyes from the patrons. He then stood up and offered his arm to Jade and asked "Would you allow me the honor of escorting you outside, Jade?"

Candice lets her hand fall away and sits back returning to a safer distance. She nods as he speaks feeling that she made him uncomfortable, so she keeps  her hands to herself from then on. She had finally calmed down enough to be able to think and began to let her eyes wander over the crowd. Her gaze was caught on the moving statue that intrigued her as much as Claxter had. Candice pointed discretely toward the tall being in armor who just stood up.

"What is that creature? Is it a moving statue?" Her whisper caressed the ears like a lullaby. Candice had yet to even think about how her voice was effecting Claxter, for everything else seemed so much more pertinent to her. Where she was from, they rarely let her speak for the pull of her voice was hard to ignore in great quantities. Though, since they knew what she could do, it made it easier to resist.

Claxter spared a stalk eye to where Candice was pointing. <That's Parker. He's a Human in an advanced suit of armor. Sometimes he'll take his helmet off so you can see his face, but he tends to leave it on so he's not as vulnerable.> There was a small part of him that, since she wasn't touching him anymore, actually wanted them to touch again. She just seemed more pleasant than Efaen, who chose to leave him instead of be with him. He resented her for that.

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin mimics Efaen, drinking from the lake.  <I know some who believe the bar itself, specifically the Bar Tender, is an immortal on the level with The Ellimist and Crayak...playing its own game.  I witnessed that Bar Tender kill with no more than a glance.  He has abilities of his own.  I was forced to enter the Timestream to recover the life of the person he killed, and that experience nearly killed me.>

Ossanlin drinks quietly for a few moments before speaking up again.  <You said that your father and yourself have devoted yourself to "a cause"...but you never truly specified what that cause was...what exactly is the cause that you fight for?>

She looked at Claxter with mild shock.

"A human? That large? He is so tall though, I have never seen a human as tall as he." Her eyes drifted back to the man and fell on the woman who looked ill. "Who is the woman near him? She seems to have quite the following around her." Candice wasn't jealous, just wondered how she could be near so many men and be safe. Not to mention, she looked like she wasn't in the best shape so maybe the men hurt her. She had heard of horrible things happening to women when many men were near then.

<He has been genetically enhanced, so he's certainly not a normal Human. The woman is Silver. She's been through some recent hardships, but now she's back with friends. Those around her are friends who won't hurt her.> He said. Knowing she didn't trust men, he assured her that she was safe.

Parker "overheard" the newcomer's questioning and Claxter's response. He ignored it as patrons often speaks of others, though they're only feet away from their subjects of conversation. He was more concerned with Silver's well being to respond for himself.

Candice let the thought of how someone could be enhanced roll around her mind for a few moments thinking up ideas that all seemed to be very painful. She shivered at the thought, her wings fluttering and stretching out then relaxing back to the state they were in previously. When he spoke of Silver, she looked at Claxter again with a confused expression.

"Men who are...friends? They don't all wish to bed her?" She was truly befuddled by the concept of men being trustworthy, because she knew of so few who were. Her life was too filled with vile people for her to see clearly on the subject. She lowered her head and smiled briefly to herself. She spoke low, but loud enough to hear.

"I'm sorry, but I have never met so many kind hearted people in one place before, let alone many throughout my life." She met two of his eyes once more and spoke with her gentle bell voice. "It all seems too good to be true, like I got what I wished for and so much more." Her eyes began to glisten toward the end of her sentence, as real joy began to creep in.

Corliss shrugs, although Terenia cannot see the gesture.  "See, the thing is, Terenia, Mike and I reckon you aren't bad luck.  You've had a few terrible things happen to you, you've done a few terrible things, but I've told you you certainly aren't a terrible person."

He sighs.  "Look, we don't want to press the issue any further," he murmurs, resigned.  "Clearly your fear is making you disinterested, and we can't fault you for that.  It's your decision.  In the meantime I'm going to come in there for a feeding and let Mike head off to the bar, maybe press Ossanlin into coming round a bit more quickly.  Yeah?"

Without waiting for an answer, Corliss heads across the cabin and into the humid, dim little pool room.

<Yeah,> Terenia says, surprised by how nervous the idea of being alone with Corliss makes her. She struggles to keep her tone resigned. <Yeah, sure. Whatever. The sooner we can get this over with the sooner we can leave.>

She scrunch-thrusts her little body through the sludgy pool water, trying to make sense of her conflicted emotions. On the one hand, she is still very much grieving for her dead sister - and still reeling from the discovery that Tamora may not be so dead after all. On the other, she is eager to regain her lost humanity and begin a new life with the rebels. A new life that will involve seeing quite a bit of Corliss and Mike, she reminds herself. Quickly, she pushes the thought away.

Efaen looks surprised that Ossanlin would ask.

<Why, the destruction of the Yeerk Empire and the restoration of the Andalite race, of course,> she says smoothly. She turns her head to watch Ossanlin with her main eyes. <My father was stationed on the Yeerk Homeworld, under Prince Seerow. He saw the parasites rise from their pools and butcher our people as thanks for our kindness. Since then he dedicated his life to eliminating the stain smeared across our People's name. Everything he did - even my own birth and rearing - was a calculated effort to bring the Andalites back to honor.>
