Suddenly, Ogreon backed off from the offer. Van blinked, confused, when he noticed that the Clangst was looking at someone who had just entered the Bar. The individual was bizarre, to say in the least. He looked somewhat similar to the centaur-like Argraavi race, from the desolate ice planet Sekhor. Van remembered seeing others a little like the newcomer, blue-furred with four eyes and deadly-looking tails, but this new guy sported heavy cybernetic enhancements.

It intrigued Van, and made him think of guys he knew back home with rather unfortunate personal histories. Outlaws who barely survived, were it not for the help of mechanical replacement parts. It was kind of a pirate thing, really. Once you got your arm blown off, you replaced it, plain and simple.

But, Ogreon had a fearful reaction to this newcomer; something wasn't right. Sensing the disturbance, Van quipped, "So, I guess that was the no, then? No prah-blem!"

The newcomer displayed an interest in a bizarre wooden object in the corner. It seemed to be... making music? Van was curious. Though the new guy walked away, the Pirate couldn't help but walk over to it.

"Mmm, so, haow does the instrument-nyah work, mm chaa?"

"And I was not asking you," Zorish says flatly to Corliss. "The human was right about you; you run on a particularly short fuze." He glances at the man, unimpressed, "You'll forgive me if I do not entirely believe you."

Turning his attention back to Myitt his expression changes to a sneer. "I would find it easier to live for the moment if I was assured that I had many to look forward to. Even if my own safety was assured, there is that of my host to think of. I do not relish the idea of finding a new one as...amiable...as my current." He gestures to Tamora's body. "Besides, the information is clearly of no great loss to you. In your version of events I am already bits of dust. What harm is it to indulge the information?"

<And you suggest that I alter my behaviors to suit your expectations?> Efaen asks, looking affronted. <While I am at it would you prefer I assume human form? Or perhaps Hork-Bajir or Taxxon? Would that make you more comfortable with my presence?> She snorts derisively. <Yeerks may be masters of deceptions, but I am an Andalite. I will not hide who I am merely to make others feel more comfortable.>

<<For what it's worth, you can tell her I respect her honesty. Still a bit high strung, though. Don't tell her that last part.>> Derrel said.

Claxter saw that Zorish seems to be getting in a worse mood as the conversation went on. He kept a stalk eye on them, though he couldn't hear what they were saying. He didn't know if he should interrupt or not. He didn't like how Myitt had killed the Yeerk, not to mention how Tamora had died.

~Ossanlin~

<Kind words, aristh.  I appreciate them, though I can be quite the opposite given certain situations.  I do attempt to always have compassion though, it is the cornerstone to my philosophy.  There are times when I must trade it in for ruthlessness...but that is not your concern.>  Ossanlin smiles at the Andalite nothlit.  Though still a sort of perversion of form, he seems much more natural than Theta.  That particular being made him quite uncomfortable.

<Accompany me if you would.  You have rejoined the military, you should be outfitted properly.>  Ossanlin heads back to the Mirage again and commands the ramp to open, stepping into the ship and up into the small storage area.  He begins opening and closing drawers, pulling out a standard Shredder with holster, the spare ARC, and a few other items.

Salem frowned as the mechanized Andalite walked away without responding. Maybe communication wasn't that creature's strong suit. He looked quickly around the bar, searching for any signs of whatever trap Rathien may have set for him. Illim and the female Andalite were speaking... either of them could be with the hunter. The mechanized Andalite might be, as well, but at the moment it seemed more dazed than threatening. Not that that meant much. Corliss and Zorish were communicating with someone, though at this angle, Salem couldn't tell who it was. He took a moment to roll his eyes- was there any way Corliss would have let Zorish contact the rebellion already? The Yeerk seemed more unpredictable all the time. Zorish might be here with Rathien. Ogreon and Van... and there, Jasper and Ewa seemed to be watching him. Was that what had set him on edge about her? Was she here to help bring him in?

He sighed and looked back at Rathien. The truth was that he didn't know any of the people at this bar well enough to trust them. Rathien might be alone, or he might have half the bar on his side. There was just no way to tell unless something happened. For now, he'd have to consider everyone here a potential enemy. Not that that was anything new to him.

He smirked, "I know you're in this business because you're a little crazy. Gotta love what you do, though, right? I have noticed," he said, switching to a tone that was mockingly ponderous, "that there tends to be a very high mortality rate among bounty hunters. I wonder if that's tied to the job somehow?" He grinned, "I wonder how much longer you can last, Rathien. It's not a career for the weak at heart."

Without hesitating, he turned to the bartender and ordered a Radonian Fyrquas for Rathien, then turned to the hunter, smirking again, "So what now? Do we just sit here until one of us kills the other, or did you want to take this outside?"

Illim grins. "My host," he says, leaning back against the bar, "says he respects your honesty. And I suppose I do, too. But you are just... horribly Andalite-esque, you know? I can't even figure why you want to join the rebellion, other than maybe to destroy them from the inside," he snorts, rolling his eyes.

Serid nods gratefully and lengthens his stride to walk alongside the War Prince. "Thank you, sir. I am grateful," he says.

Upon stepping up into the Mirage, Serid takes a long moment to survey his surroundings. It has been years... a decade... since he has seen the inside of an Andalite ship. "We have made some impressive strides in interstellar transport since I was first assigned to a Dome Ship," he murmurs, his dark eyes wide.

He certainly knows his source material.  Ewa was pleasantly impressed with Jasper. I can't tell if he'd go so far as Van and allow himself to be injured, but that's a bit extreme anyways.

"You're a pacifist then?  Since you're worried about someone not directly involved with you," she explained her question.  "This doesn't seem like a very comfortable place to be a pacifist."

The exchanges between Zorish, Corliss and the communicator were getting sharper and Salem still looked on-edge.  Maybe he did want help or something, she thought when she saw him looking back in their direction.  He looks a little accusatory for that though.  Maybe I really upset him earlier.

Claxter noticed Salem looking around, worried. With nothing else to do, he made his way over as best he could. <Is something bothering you, Salem? You seem uneasy for an easy going guy.>

"To be honest, Zorish, I fear more for my brother's safety and my own if you were to find out the circumstances of your death."  Myitt sighs, glancing off-screen.  "Corliss, please reassure this creature that she probably has quite a few long years left in her life?  If she doesn't even know who Terenia is, I doubt there's an immediate danger."

Corliss shrugs.  "She's probably right, you know.  There's no way to judge it for sure, or, hell, even tell if you'll encounter the same fate now that you've been here."

The corners of Efaen's main eyes tighten at Illim's suggestion. <That is a rather bold assumption, Yeerk,> she says stiffly, leery of how close to the truth he is. <Do you not think your leader would take caution to keep someone he viewed as a threat as far away from his rebellion as possible?>

"So Terenia is important in some way?" Zorish asks, his eyes narrowing as he shifts his gaze between Myitt and Corliss. "Very well. Perhaps I will seek this person out. Maybe they can be somewhat more clear." He gives the two of them an appraising look. "I don't suppose I can hope for any assistance in locating him or her, can I?"

"Oh relax," Illim grins, waving a hand idly at her. "I wasn't assuming anything. I forget what a poor sense of humor Andalites have. A word of advice: you shouldn't take much of anything I take seriously."

He turns around toward the bar. "A beer, on him," he calls out, jabbing a thumb in the direction of Salem. The bartender stares at him unblinkingly until Illim shrugs, "What? He offered."

"Sorry," Myitt says, feigning sympathy.  "I really, really don't know where that **** is, nor do I want to know."

Corliss gives the holoscreen image of his brother a sour look.  "I'm afraid I can't help you much there, either," he mutters.  "Like I've said.  Several times."

"Fine," Zorish sneers. "Perhaps someone else at this trash pit will be able to assist me." He glares at Myitt, "I had hoped to find you more helpful, but all I can say following this conversation is that I find it unlikely that you successfully murdered any incarnation of myself. I would not put myself in a situation where you could shoot me outright, which means you would have had to outsmart me." He snorts derisively, turning away from the computer, "Frankly, I find that unlikely."

Zorish fixes Corliss with a cool gaze. "Thank you for your 'assistance', traitor. As promised, I will be of no further trouble to you. May I have my weapon?" He holds out his hand, a small, expectant smile on his face.

<Ah, I see,> Efaen says coldly. <You are one of those Yeerks that attempts to emulate human sarcasm. I must say that I had my share of human humor during my years of forced servitude.> She glances over at Corliss and Zorish, whose conversation seems to be devolving. <That human's physical appearance is unsettling,> she murmurs.

Corliss keeps his Dracon trained on Zorish, slowly handing the Sub-Visser his gun.

"Until next time," Myitt says with a little wave, cutting out the feed.

"'Attempts to emulate'? I think higher of myself than that," Illim grins at her, accepting the Corona from the bartender with a nod. "I'm pretty darn effective. Maybe you just don't recognize a witty Yeerk when you meet one."

His eyes track lazily to Zorish, and he considers him a moment before glancing back at Efaen. "Unsettling?" he murmurs. Corliss's words about a Terenia look-alike come back to him, and he watches Efaen with renewed interest. So how was this Andalite, or at least Terenia, connected to this person in the Bar?
