Salem breathed a sigh of relief as he cleared the area of Temrash's ship. He walked briskly back over to the group that included Corliss- two Andalites had now arrived as well- Claxter and the female Salem had seen around a few times. Corliss looked every bit as tense as he had when Salem had walked off, but now it seemed he was directing his energy towards the female Andalite.
Doesn't that Yeerk ever calm down? Salem wondered to himself. As he stepped up to the group, he nodded at Corliss and smiled at Jasper, then turned to Al.
"Hey, I need to talk to you for a minute," he said, and without waiting for an answer, led Al a little ways away by his shirt sleeve.
Al made a show of appearing very confused before turning to Salem with a grin, "What's up?"
"Yeerk sold us out," Salem said tersely, using the Atazin galactic language for fear that they'd be overheard. "He said he was a former Visser. I expected more control. I think I need to start running background checks on clients."
Al laughed and replied in Gallard, "So why do you need to tell me about it?"
"We need to get our friends off his ship," Salem said quietly, still using the Atazin language, with a glance towards Corliss.
"And you can't just ask him for access to his ship's power system because...?" Al prodded with a smirk, switching to the Atazin language himself.
Salem glared at Al, "Because then he'd know I'd been lying about what I'd done. Or... what I hadn't. Whatever."
Al smirked at him, "I've got news for you, dude. I think he's already pretty aware that you screwed with his ship."
The pair continued arguing quietly a short distance from the group that'd formed.
