Temrash regretted that Trey didn't want to say any more, but didn't want to force him to talk. "That's fine. You've told me enough." He said. So Earth was the turning point? He would need to make arrangements. Get some information on the Andalites that opposed Visser Three. He wondered how much time he had. Months? Years?

"Thank you, Temrash, but the matter working itself out do a sorry end," Taylis sighed.  She looked again at the person she tried to steal the dracon from.  "I'm sorry I was just trying to save a woman's life.  Speed was of the essence.  I don't mean to leave you unarmed for long."
Then Trey started taking about his back ground.  It made her shift in her seat.  There was a part of her that thought the Andalites were geniuses for thinking of the idea.  Yeerks that had bodies of there own without the constant presence of the host could be a great benefit to Yeerks like her that just wanted freedom.  Her mind was abuzz with questions.  How did Trey parents get to acquire humans?   How is a real body feel different than a host body?  Why did Temrash say that there are only six Andalite bandits?
<<I just you want one of those cubes that the Andalites have,>> Amy said.  <<Look opening your mouth here will do you no good.  Everybody at the table may jump you if you say that the Yeerks had it good in that future.  Plus every subway riding bone in my body doesn't want to stick around that guy that had the out burst.>>
<<Good idea,>> Taylis said.  She saw that Carris' host walked back into the bar looking like a mess.  She sat next to him and was silent.  She was offering something that she wished she had when Larry died; a person to talk to that that understood the pain.

Adam doesn't acknowledge Amy's presence. He just sits there, occasionally drinking from his bottle, and contemplating Fiona's straw castle. Something about it is bothering him, though he can't quite put his finger on it. Besides, it was giving him an excuse to not have to talk to someone who apparently like to meddle and encourage people who were out of their minds.

Ossanlin lets the matter drop about what Mar can give him, maybe the being can think up something later...Ossanlin is certainly not after recompense for friendship.  He sighs, looking at the door again as well.  <I fear I will have to.  I'm hoping to at least find out the name of his employer before anything happens.  He doesn't yet know that I'm his mark.  The only help I would ask, could you spare it, is a cede of energy to ascend if I must.  He seems unusually...strong. ..for a human or Yeerk or whatever he is.>

Ossanlin nods to Mar again before pushing open the swinging saloon-style doors and trotting into the bar.  He scans the room and notices the human sitting at a table sipping wine.  At least there was that...perhaps there was still a peaceful way out of this, if there wasn't, peraps his opponent would be at least a bit tipsy if it came to a fight.

With a savage smile, Okaru thought to himself, Im never wrong. Haha.

He then leaned back slightly leaving his blade on the table, clearly a challenge.

Ossanlin looks Okaru over, not noticing the blade on the table as he is not versed in human swordsman etiquette.  He walks up to the bar and orders a non-alcoholic spritzer.  He doesn't want to dull his own reflexes with alcohol if they turn out to be necessary.  After the BT hands him the drink and trots over to the table where the human is sitting.  <I would offer to buy you a drink but i see you already have one.>

He moves to stand across the table from Okaru, setting the glass on the floor and dipping a hoof in.  <So...you said you were paid to find Ossanlin?  He's a very busy Andalite.  Just what do you need to speak with him about?>  Ossanlin smiles warmly.

Elayne purses her lips and nods. "I understand," she tells the Hork-Bajir, but, first of all, we don't even know that we're from the timeline; your future may hold something completely different from Trey's and my reality. Second, we can't know the outcome of other scenarios, so what if they're even worse? What if the Empire completely takes over Earth and, eventually, the Andalite homeworld? I'm supportive of Yeerk rights," she says, raising her eyebrows, "but I don't particularly want a Yeerk in my head. How can a compromise be reached? It wouldn't, if the Empire had its way."

Serid follows the motion of her hand, and perhaps he would have typically noticed the familiar insignia, but his fatigue, at least, made him miss it. <<I see,>> he responds, lifting his eyes and frowning at her. <<If you would accept a word of advice from a lowly aristh,>> he murmurs. <<I would not typically be so bold as to offer it, but we have both had... strange paths to this place, it seems, so I imagine you would be more open to unorthodoxy than most of our race.>> He shifts his weight and slowly clasps his hands behind his back. <<A sanctimonious tone from an individual with a path like yours is... unflattering, if not outrightly hypocritical.>>

"Alright," Illim nods, easily conceding. He turns around with a grin, the rocks making a rough grinding sound under his feet. "You pick this time. Maybe you have a better Andalite radar than mine."

"Obviously it would be bad if the empire took over the whole galaxy." Temrash said. He didn't say he considered that a lesser evil, since he did value his people over others. "I'm just worried, and when I hear of futures where my people are wiped out through one method or another, it doesn't ease my worry. In my timeline they recently lost the Leeran Homeworld, which was a pretty big hit. They're currently looking into the Anati system for prospects. I'm worried that if Visser Three wins Earth they'll actually promote him further or even put him on the council. I don't know what will happen if they lose Earth, but it's an important goal."

He could only shrug, ''I need to find him. That much is all you need. Do you know of him?''

<<Hey,>> Mike insists.  <<Turn the other way, towards the softer ground.  You saw them just a minute ago, didn't you?  Clear as anything.  Hoof-prints.  Unless there are a lot of deer in those woods, I'd reckon we follow them.>>

Efaen stops in her tracks, her main eyes narrowing as she regards the nothlit aristh.

<<Aristh Serid,>> she says stiffly, <<You are overstepping your bounds. You know nothing of my path, and therefore have no right to offer judgment. There is no hypocricy in my intentions, nor in my actions, and I beseech you to locate one instance in which your claims are justified.>>

Trey finds himself slipping gratefully back out of the conversation, as those with more at stake begin arguing and posturing. He is fine with this, and silently watches the volley of conversation shift between those seated at the table.

<<You're right,>> Terenia realizes, berating herself. <<That dapsen Illim was distracting me.>>

"This way," Terenia says, turning to angle back the way they had come. It only takes a few seconds for them to reach the tracks Mike had reminded her of. A set of hoofprints, side by side with human tracks. She glances down at them before looking at Illim with raised eyebrows.

Salem watched as Jasper pulled out a large pad of... paper? He smirked. He hadn't seen somebody use actual paper in ages. It was an Ennish thing, in his mind. And that book didn't look remotely Ennish. The thing he was using to mark it... Salem didn't recognize it in the least. He might have to ask him about it later. For a moment, he was curious to get a look at whatever was recorded on the pages, but he was quickly distracted by the discussion between Temrash and Elayne. He vaguely noticed the way Trey backed off from the conversation- he had a few more questions to ask, but they weren't urgent.

He looked at Temrash. The Yeerks in his timeline were looking into the Anati system. That was curious. It seemed he was from an earlier time in the war than Salem had experienced. Salem hadn't done a lot of asking around about people's backgrounds, but the fact that the people here were not only from different realities, but different times within those realities, did surprise him somewhat.

Most of his attention now was on Elayne, however. He narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at her, trying to figure out why someone would so adamantly oppose the use of information from their future. His first thought was TWF... but that was absurd, wasn't it? They didn't exist here, and even if they did, talking to people in bars wasn't really their style. So why...?

He looked at Elayne as he spoke. "I'm with him, personally," he said, nodding towards Temrash. "If you know one potential fate, and it's awful, why not try to change it? Even if it's only a related set of consequences, and not guaranteed... There might be unforseen consequences. In my experience, most actions have them. But not at least trying to fix it... that would kill me."

He glanced at Temrash, "She's right, though. This war is being fought by species whose hatred of each other is becoming more deeply ingrained with every passing day. I'm having trouble imagining either Yeerks or Andalites willing to compromise." He wasn't so sure about the Yeerks, but Elayne had seemed pretty sure that the Empire wouldn't compromise. He knew from experience that most Andalites were specist to the point of isolation.

"My general idea of bringing out this compromise is to first eliminate the Council. Then if I can make it so the strength of both forces are equal, and get someone in power willing to talk to each other, maybe we can do something. If the Electorate refuses to talk...I'll deal with them too. This war has to end, one way or another, without genocide or total infestation. There has to be a way." Temrash said. "It all stemmed from the council pulling the strings. Once they're gone, I think things will be easier."

Claxter wonder what Efaen was talking about to...whoever that other guy was. It seemed to him that she had a lot on her mind, and he wasn't sure if he should try to be near her for support, or give her space to think.

"You make it sound so easy," Elayne snorts at Temrash's plan. "No offense, I mean, I think a compromise would be great. But don't you think that, if you ousted the Council, a new one would just be appointed in its place? There's no shortage of want-to-be leaders in that culture."

She turns her attention to Salem but doesn't answer his question. Instead, she just folds her arms and watches him. It's not only because it would impact her that she wants to avoid anything drastic happening to her past, but it's certainly a large part of it

<<My apologies,>> Serid bows his head, although he continues to watch her out of narrowed eyes. <<Still... you have made intimations that you were once a host. Am I incorrect in this assumption?>>

"Oh hey, nice find," Illim says, raising his eyebrows and following Terenia and Mike. "And yeah, looks like they're definitely plotting our demise." He grins and lengthens his stride to walk beside them.

"Yes there are plenty of Vissers who would like to become a new Council, and not all of them are allies of mind. Still, not all Vissers are as bad as others. Some can be negotiated with. It's not going to be easy, but I need to stay optimistic. It helps keep me sane."
