The other automated shredder fired before it was destroyed by our SION pulse. It hit one of our stalk-eyes.

Then the Andalite fired his shredder. It hit my SION arm.

TTSSSAP!! it exploded.

Nanoprobes rushed up to our stalk-eye to heal it. They swam down to our missing arm and began to rebuild the SION claws. It would be fully reformed in approximately 5 hours.

In the mean time, we stepped forward and raised our weapon on the Andalite, <You are a danger to the Alvie force on this meteorite. You must be eliminated.>

Our shot went awry as we fell to the ground, hitting the wall 5 feet above Claxter. We fell to our knees.

<You have...obviously activated...some sort of gravimetric... suppression device. No matter...our units will be here soon...>

<I'm not afraid of your drones.> Claxter said, though it wasn't totally true. <<Efaen. The prisoner was able to contact drones within his ship, and are heading my way. I don't know how easily they can penetrate my ship, but we will want to take them down anyway. Be careful on your way back.>> He said privately. He didn't want her to be ambushed.

<Computer. Track any incoming robots and fire weapons at them.> The computer system scanned the area for them. Claxter also made sure the hatch was closed.

Claxter set out to disarm Theta as much as possible, though he noticed the nanobots rebuilding him. He didn't know how to start trying to free the Andalite, but he knew he couldn't just keep Theta penned up.

We sent the weapons frequency to our units. External ship weapons would assuredly be more powerful. But it would quicken the adaption speed.

Our quantryon weapon had been crushed by the gravimetric forces. It would not be useful. But we did retain the natural andalite weapon –– the cryogenically extended tail-blade. We lifted it with some effort, and brought it in front of us, <If you approach me andalite, we will use the unit's natural abilities to kill you.>

<<What's that sound?>>
<<I'm not...>> "What is this, rush hour?!? Sapttus, it looks like we aren't the only ones taking a vacation here."
"Apparently not."
A large ship was landing nearby, on the other side of a couple crashed ships that Sapttus could only guess the origin of, and what appeared to be a comet shot past, blazing through the atmosphere, quickly leaving his field of vision. They stopped for a moment to watch both events. <<Well, at least it won't be boring here.>> <<And that worries me.>>

Illim stuffs his hands in his pockets as he wanders back in the direction from which he had come--towards the place where he had met the man that he had immediately abandoned. I'm a rude son-of-a, huh? he thinks to himself with a degree of amusement.

He rounds another ship, kicking gravel as he shuffles his feet lazily. <<What a day,>> he remarks to Derrel. <<Maybe I should've gotten my Dracon back from Serid while I had the chance. But who knows, with an Andalite tail blade waving about, he probably should be the one to hang on to it for now.>>

<An Andalite,> Efaen says, her surprise obvious. <I apologize, I had inferred that you were a member of the Yeerk race, given your present form. Human Controllers tend to frequent this bar in larger numbers than other species.> She looks the Andalite up and down, curious. She notes that he does not preface his name with a title, indicating that he is non-military. Why he would be so far from the Homeworld and apart from the military is a mystery.

<Tell me, Serid-Winwall-Falan. Why do you assume a human guise?> She is slightly put-off by his morph, as it reminds her of Terenia's constant habit of forcing Efaen into human form.

"Would that I did not have to," Serid answers, taking a few steps closer so he does not strain his voice across the distance between them. "I am a nothlit." This new revelation counters what he had implied regarding his military standing by not giving a rank, as hardly any Andalites outside the military are given access to the Escafil device.

He goes on: "There is no need to apologize, Warrior Efaen-Purinial-Loreth. Your assumption was both reasonable and logical."

"Umm," Taylis said.  "I didn't think that far ahead.  I was just happy that I thought of a way to kill her without killing her.  The best that I can figure is that she's some sort of ghost.  She seems to have been around for a long time."
<<He has a point,>> Amy reminded.  <<I don't want to become a host to her.>>

"While I am sympathetic to your cause, you will need to find out more about this ghost before trying to remove it. Is there any kind of expert on Earth that could give you information? The ghost isn't likely to be chatty about ways it can be defeated." Temrash said. He got to the repair ship, and went to the back to talk to the Taxxons. One of the Yeerks was willing to change hosts, and his host wouldn't mind being alone in its head for a while.

<I'd like it if we had a weapon, but he probably needs one too. Maybe we can see about getting another one somewhere, if you don't have a spare on your ship anywhere.> Derrel said.

Claxter stopped out of range of the tail. That tail was certainly dangerous, being an extended length on top of being the tail of an adult. He didn't know if it was entirely mechanical, so he didn't try blasting it off. <If you relinquish that Andalite and leave this asteroid, I'll let you go. Otherwise it will be you that is destroyed.> He doubted anything he said would convince this automaton.

Iosse followed Temrash, nearly right on his heels. He was fond of him, grateful for his help, and just maybe a little bit to tempted to snack on him. It was hard to resist, so hard, but he knew that if he waited....

It was quiet at this part of the shipyard. <<What are we standing here for?>> "Couldn't tell you." Jasper and Sapttus continued on their way to the bar. Jasper pulled a bottled water out of his laptop bag, and took a drink. Finally, they passed the last ship, and walked across the small clearing between the shack and the ships. He knocked on the door. Nothing. He knocked again, loudly this time. <<Maybe we should just go in?>> <<What if this is someone's house? Most people disprove of trespassing, right?>>

<If you simply ask Efaen whether or not she'll cooperate, and agree to live amongst us without becoming a bloody lunatic, then you'll have your answer.>  Corliss swims in agitated, wide circles near the edge of the pool.  <If she doesn't agree to it, we may well be better off.  Perhaps...you'll get used to the silence?>

<<Or you could always ask him to come in for a visit,>> Mike says with a cackle.

Taylis went back to the bar past some new guests.  She looked defeated as she entered.  There was little she could do to help.  Where could she find expert on the being that Fiona was?  She went to her seat at the bar next to Carris.  "He wont give it to me until I know for sure that she can't just reinfest her or me," Taylis said.  "How do we do that?"

<Relinquish what Andalite? Gremytt-Pekulon-Thelan is dead!!! DEAD I say! Gremytt is dead, gone forever!>

Our...hearts burned. It was an odd sensation. We recall the humans cry when this happens. Andalites lack the tear ducts of humans. But why were we experiencing emotion? Emotion...self...

<Dead...dead...>, I sobbed.

<It seems to me that Gremytt-Pekulon-Thelan is not dead. Merely suppressed. Your distance from the source you call Alvie is helping Gremytt regain his individuality. You can fight it off, Gremytt! The Alvie and Theta can't hold you anymore! Fight for yourself! Fight for your people! Fight for every individual that the Alvie has taken!>

That name actually seemed familiar to Claxter, but he wasn't sure from where. He was never friends with anyone by that name. A thought crossed his mind, though. Maybe if a Yeerk went into his mind, the Yeerk could pull up memories. Though he wasn't sure if he wanted to have a fellow Andalite infested.

In the Transport, everything was going according to plan. Then...a probe in contact with the minicollective pushed through. Above the influence and control of the hive for the first time a century. Everything froze...

<I...cannot...help!>, I said.

All effort was forced on that one drone. Unit Theta-...you know. The collective consciousness was imposed on him yet again.

Gggcchrrreeer! Vvvooooo!, our mechanics whirled, reasserting their functions.

We looked up at Claxter, <Fighting is irrelevant. Individuality is irrelevant. You...will...be—>

Theta's upper body slumped to the floor next to his lower body. Unconscious.
