She stopped walking, but after thinking for a minute she called "Maybe Temrash could find you a job on his ship. You could ask him at least."

Salem looked up when Temrash entered and smiled. Once again, he found himself standing from the table with a quiet "excuse me." He ordered a drink as well- Radonian Fyrquas- and walked towards the table Temrash was heading for. Once there, he sat down across from Temrash.

"Hey," he said, considering trying to make small talk. He decided it would be better to just get down to business. "That was... less successful than I'd hoped. This rebellion is obviously paranoid of computer hackers. That 'Corliss' walked in before I could finish." He frowned, "He's... insufferable. Guy was convinced someone had hired me to hack in. I set him straight, of course," he said with a wink. He folded his arms across his chest and sighed, "I'm monitoring his ship's communications now. He makes a few calls to the rebellion and I should be able to figure out how to simulate the encryption and give you the key for that. He hasn't made any calls since I've been watching, though. It's just a waiting and surveillance game doing it that way. I guess I could try a brute force hack again, but it's going to be harder now, and I'd still like to keep my options with the rebellion open if I can. Getting caught a second time wouldn't be good."

He sat thinking in silence for a few seconds, his lips pressed together, until a thought occurred to him. "Temrash, how different are Yeerk computer systems from Andalite computer systems?"

<Frivolities?  Do you truly think so lowly of us?  Do you not think that the depth of emotion and conscience might actually be another well to draw upon?  It is a greater power than you give credit for.>  Ossanlin continues along toward the bar, trotting out through the docking area.  <I had thought your time amongst us would give you new view...a better view...I had hoped you would see our value and wish to enrich yourself along the way.>  Ossanlin sighs as gravel and hard surfaces replace the grass.  Apparently he was done feeding for the time being.

Temrash noted that Corliss figured someone must be behind Salem going into his ship, instead of salem just taking an opportunity by himself. He'd have to be careful not to let the guy or his girlfriend see him with Salem.

"Yeerk systems were mostly based on Andalite systems, but have diverged more and more over time to keep Andalites from hacking into it. The usual means Andalites would use would be the least effective, of course. I'm glad you were able to get something, and I thank you for that."

Taylis failed to get the dracon.  The shot made her look at the scene of the spirit freeing herself from the prison that was this woman's flesh.  Death of one so another can be free.  She stood there shocked and mute for a few minuets.
"What do you need this for?" the woman asked.
<<She's talking to you,>> Amy mentally poked Taylis.
Taylis shock her head to free it of all the thoughts.  "I was going to use it on her," Taylis said gesturing to the headless body that Adam was taking away.  "I don't think I need it any more."

We shook our head, <We do not wish to serve aboard any vessel. Doubtless, in some way or another, we....would be serving the Andalites.>

We stopped short, <Andalite? What did you say your name was?>

After digging the grave, Adam quickly realizes he has a problem: Fiona's body is a lot heavier than he thought it'd be. He doesn't bother wondering what it must look like as he proceeds to half-carry, half drag her back to the bar's cemetery, regretting now digging the hole so far away. It's not like she'd ever know the difference.

When he finally reaches the hole, he attempts to lower her in as best he can. Instead, he nearly falls in. He catches himself, but drops Fiona in the process. He swears, looking down at her. Ugh. Not very dignified at all.

With a sigh, he takes up his shovel, muttering a disjointed prayer--though he's never been particularly religious--as he refills the hole.

Mar actually laughs at this statement of Ossanlin's. It is a bitter, horrible laugh with the weight of years evident in it. Mar knows far better than the idealistic Andalite War-Prince. He has seen too much to believe in mortal grievances or sympathy...though his current body causes him to think and feel as one does. Mar thinks of what he experienced near Elayne and stares onward toward the Bar.

He eventually clears his throat and says, "...how would you feel about such things if they betrayed you at every turn? My larger Mass carries the memories of every incarnation it has ever taken, and my mind is a copy of a single moment in Time in that Mass. Though I have added much to it since. Nearly every person I could have called friend has either betrayed me or died in a horrific manner. Most of the variations of Myitt I have known have not loved me. I have always benefited from ignoring such temporary shades, though I know of the great power they can bring. I have been killed by it more than once, War-Prince."

Mar then glances at Ossanlin and says, "...how in the world can I know that you and sweet Elayne are any different? I enjoy this pleasure immensely, but how permanent can such things be for me?"

Salem nodded, "I'm sorry it wasn't anything useful. I'll keep trying, and let you know as soon as I break through." He sighed, "The Yeerk systems based on Andalite systems... they probably use Z-space data storage, right?" He folded his arms, "That kind of limits my options. Flekteon might be able to extract hard-coded information, but the odds of them being able to manipulate the ship to find data stored in Z-space are not as good."

He smirked, "I could vaporize that ship, slowly, and record every atom, every quark, as I destroy them. Once you get past Heisenberg it's pretty simple. My computer should be able to reconstruct everything recorded on theirs, given a bit of time. It might require shooting a few rebels along the way, though, so I'd rather not try it except as a last resort. I might be able to access the information that way, but if it's properly encrypted, destruction of the ship would mean losing it forever. I don't know that Yeerks and Andalites realize it's possible to attain information like that, though, so there's probably a pretty good chance it isn't 'properly encoded.'"

He shook his head, "I'll try Flekteon, and keep monitoring his communications, unless you tell me you need the information faster. I don't want to take risks I don't have to."

<<Galaxy's Edge Space Bar... You'd think it would be a bit more... I dunno, more.>> Jasper looks around at the building they find themselves in. It was kind of a let down for a place with such a grand name. << I agree. It isn't exactly a five-star establishment.>> Jasper was still confused by the fact that no one was truly bothered by someone committing suicide right here in the bar. It reminded them of the Visser, and his ruthless enforcement. << I really hope that we haven't hopped out of the frying pan and into the fire by coming here.>> <<Don't worry, Jasper, it can't be nearly as bad as that. We just came at ... an inopportune time, is all.>> Or so I hope, Sapttus thought to himself.

"Well that's a rather fancy name for a place like this...." They laughed at Trey's comment about it being a place for strays. "Yeah, that's pretty much me. Guess I'll fit right in after all." Turning to Elayne, he asks, "And uh, what war was it you were asking about before... that happened? Unless I was really missing something in the news, then I don't think that there were any wars going on, at least none that the States were involved in....

Adam leans the shovel against the side of the bar. He briefly considers going back to the ship. He desperately needs to change, he muses, looking down at his clothes, which are pretty much covered in dirt and blood--very little of which is his. Charming. Still, going back means dealing with Carris...

Adam enters the bar, looks around briefly, then walks up to the counter, sitting down in front of the straw castle. The bartender approaches, flips open his notebook, and writes something down. He holds it up for Adam to read.

"Er... put her stuff on my tab, I guess," he says. "And, uh... you got any Mexican Coke?"

The bartender pulls a bottle out and sets it on the bar, popping off the cap.

"Thanks," Adam says, though the bartender's already moving off to do something else.

"I didn't know you could get information like that, though I don't want the skimmer destroyed if at all possible. Especially if it risks rebel lives. As much as Corliss annoys me, I'd still like to be on as good terms with his boss as possible. I'm not in a big rush to get the information. Take your time, and when you succeed, I'll give you the schematics for the prototype." Temrash said.

Claxter gave his father's name ((which I forgot. :-\)). <Why do you ask? You didn't...know my father, did you?> He wasn't sure he wanted to know why any member of the Alvie group knew his family. Unless Gremyyt knew him before hand. Unless...<Were you friends with my father? I think he might have talked about a Gremyyt once, but...>

Salem nodded, "Alright, slow and steady it is then. No rebel casualties if I can help it. That should be better for both of us. If I see another opportunity, or if I get really bored, I'll give hacking the system from the front end another shot. Only at minimum risk for either of us."

He smiled and stood up, grabbing his drink. "Well, unless you've got more clandestine business for me, I think I'll go try and get acquainted with that rather odd group of people," he said, nodding towards the table at which Trey, Elayne, Jasper and Taylis were gathered. "You're welcome to join us, if you like." He began stepping in the direction of the other table.
