Jim stared as Lee's question apparently removed everyone's shackles, but didn't waste much time wondering. Move first, ask questions later, he reasoned, heading for the door. "Sounds good, Reli," he said, agreeing to her plan. "Where do you want me?"

The bindings released him, and Marty was up on his feet in a flash. He stared hard at the creature who'd entered. He was so very confused. He didn't understand what was going on anymore, or at least, he wasn't able to put the right thoughts in order. He was able to understand that the others were running out of the room though. That much made sense. He followed them, keeping up easily. He fell in position as suggested without remark.

Reli spoke quickly.

<Kage and then Mesa are in the lead; I think it would be best for one of the soldiers to go next, and Marty is already in place. Next another soldier, then you, Jim, then a soldier each before Shaun and Chris, and finally Lee, Reyna, and I hold the tail, literally. The polar bear morph is the largest we have, and placing it centrally maximizes the mobility and chance of escape for people on one side of him, but diminishes it on the other side, depending on where the danger originates.>

I won't say it to him directly, but that bear morph had better be survivable, or his size will make him a very pretty target. Still... I couldn't hope for a better wall and roadblock, if we need one. I just hate that it will trap half the team until he demorphs. Without morphing, Kage and I are the fastest here, and the others slow us down...Hello, there's a thought....

<Reyna, would you be willing to ride my back? I'll be faster with your weight than you will be on foot, and as long as I am able to cover my own back, you will be at significantly safer there than on foot. If you decide you want a lift, let me know.>

The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.

Quickly and wordlessly, Jim took his place as Reli instructed.

Mesa quickly took her place, and scanned Reyna's mind.  She's still in control, she reported to Reli, as asked.

((Whoops! Page didn't refresh as expected. Sorry I took so long.))

Reli addressed the Leeran privately.

<Thank you, Mesa. I believe you already know how I feel about her situation; Reyna may be a bit calmer about it if you say something to her to reinforce a feeling of being safe with me. I will protect her to the best of my ability... and we can deal with that thing in her head once our situation is stable. Also... the sooner you are able to morph, the better. You're our first warning of trouble ahead in your current form, but you're also a painfully easy target, and... forgive me for saying this, but if anything happens to Lee, we are going to need your abilities more than ever.>

She was as much reminding herself as the Leeran.

Chris got in position in front of Lee. "Are we morphing?" He was looking forward to the next chance.

<The sooner the better, but unless you can morph on the run, probably not just yet. You're close enough for me to cover you as long as the danger is only from one side of us. If you get a chance, I'd like you to help me cover Lee, as well as the soldier in front of you.>

"Wait, so I'll morph later and you'll cover me while I morph and then I'll cover Lee and one of he Soldiers?" Chris was having trouble getting this. His communication skills were very lacking.

<That's correct. The idea is to give protection to those who can't morph. Morphing automatically heals all injuries you have, and the soldiers and Lee don't have the ability. Any injuries done to them can't be fixed without medical help. Make no mistake- you can still die in morph. Anything that doesn't kill you can be fixed, though.>

Shaun took his place among the others in the ranks ready to do damage if he needed to. Shaun started his morph to gorilla just to be safe, he didnt want to get ambushed and not be able to do something while everybody else fought to protect them, he wanted to help protect everybody too. He know feels like he has to take a shot at being a leader figure and today was his 18th birthday just his luck.
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.

When the shackles slide back into the wall Reyna stumbles forward, almost toppling over before she finds her center of balance. Once she is stable she merely stands here, her eyes the only part of her moving as she tries to sort through this new mind within her own.  They are joined by another creature, one that makes Reyna wrinkle her nose, but garners no further reaction. Two days ago it would have been the most terrifying creature she had ever seen. Today her mind held a library of terrible creatures. Morphs, she clarified mentally. Those were his morphs. He used them to intimidate, to push for power, and sometimes just for entertainment.

"What?" Reyna asks abruptly, snapping from her reverie when Reli addresses her directly. It takes her a moment to process the question, and when she does her brows furrow in confusion. "You want me to...ride...you?"

A Kelbrid Scythe ship, that didn’t sound too promising in terms of survivability. Regardless, Fisher was about to pursue the question further when it commented he was lucky to not know the Kelbrid.  Lee wondered aloud about how to get the shackles off, causing the said shackles to suddenly melt away off of them and retract back into the wall.

Fisher jumped up and backed away, not keen on possibly getting re-shackled. Then behind him a door opened. Or more like the wall twisted open like it was made of muscles. Through this opening stepped a rather ugly, mottled green creature eight or so feet tall that looked a bit bird-like and that had a quite musky smell which caused Fisher to gag.

It is introduced Ehruf, a Pemalite In morph to save Ayrow, the other entrapped Pemalite. Being invited along to join, Fisher and the other leaped at the chance of freedom. This ‘Ehruf’ seemed as surprised about Andalites as Ayrow, but Fisher really didn’t care now. He just wanted to get some weapons and get back to Earth.

Reli suggested a formation to get in, the marines alternating between the others until they found some real weapons. It was a sound idea, Fisher shrugged and agreed.

“Sure, okay boys form up!” He and his team fell into their suggested positions, ready to go.

I watched and listened to everybody as they took their positions, commenting on the need to protect Fisher and his fire team and, more importantly, me.
Wait. I say from my position.
They're risking their lives to protect me... I can't do this anymore. The need for secrets is over and it takes too much guilt and strain to maintain the disguise. I guess this is what humans call playing your last hand.

My tentacles twist and merge together while my legs and torso lengthen. As my legs and arms gain strength, I push myself up onto my developing feet as my tail starts to grow. Talon and claws sprout from my fingers and toes and blades begin to erupt from my tail, elbows, wrists, knees and head. A beak springs from my mouth and my skin take on a brown pigmentation while my eyes take on a reddish hue.
A male Hork-Bajir. The only other morph, besides human. It looks like the boh's out of the pond.

I keep my new Hork-Bajir gaze steady and ahead of me in embarrassment, guilt and anticipation of the anger to come. "If we make it out of here, it seems I owe a rather large explanation."

Ehruf continues to stare at us, bewildered. <Yes, yes, very good. I don't know how you came across Kelbrid morphing technology and I don't much care, but if we could please move before I become soul-bound to this morph, I would be most grateful.>

((If he has time to morph, presumably so does everybody else who intends it... might not want to morph bear yet, 'Jim'... big target + path-block. Suggestion.))

<Yes, Reyna; in the event the Yeerk manages to take control of your ability to move, we can keep moving, and you won't need to walk. If you decide to morph wolf, I won't stop you right now, but admittedly my attention will be much more divided in monitoring you in that more dangerous form. The choice is yours. Lee, I think your situation is fairly obvious to most of us. At present, I'm just glad we have one less helpless member of the group.>
