Shaun hears Lee in his head and replies in his head yeah i am here. He had just watched his father die and was awake for nearly 2 hours before everybody else if these people wanted to kill them they would have already. Shaun spent the entire time thinking about his fathers story and the look on his face when he was murdered in cold blood by the enemy. He was crying for almost an hour before anybody said anything then a voice popped up speaking to Lee and bragging about their equipment and Shaun knew just how it worked he already tried his gorilla morph. When the thing spoke up Shaun stood for the first time and screamed "I AM GOING TO KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU FOR KILLING MY FATHER AND DON'T WORRY WHEN I FIND THE PERSON THAT KILLED HIM HE WILL SUFFER FROM THE TORTURE THAT I WILL GIVE HIM!"
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.

"Shaun," Marty says tenderly. "We may not want to anger these people. All of us - your father included - need you to be strong." He was just a boy....

Shaun felt good hearing Marty try to help him but all he really wanted to do was continue crying but not here not in front of all his teammates. "Thanks Marty ill be cool."

<Then it seems we have a common enemy in the Kelbrid,> The voice answers in response to Shaun's outburst. <I am just as much a prisoner as you, friend.>

Arhareli is startled at Shaun's outburst as well as the voice of the stranger. They have morph-secure prisons? Just how much do the Kelbrid truly know about us?
<Please, Shaun, try to be calm. I understand your pain. War-Prince Alloran was a great man. His passing his a great loss to us all. For now, we must focus on our escape.>

"I agree." chimes in Kage, "If we are going to learn anything of what has happened to us and who the Kelbrid are, we must find a way out of here."

I agree. I answer, Can anyone think of anyway we could get out of here? It would help if there was a light on.

As if on queue, lights immediately illuminate the cell, revealing walls that seem to be completely black and metallic. We are all revealed to have been shackled along the same wall, from corner to corner, in nothing but our morph-suits. The room itself is ten feet by ten feet and the shackles that bind us seem to be made of some sort of organic metal, as are the sheaths that cover Arhareli and Kage's blades.

At the far end of the room, near what appears to be a doorway, the stranger sits, shackled in the corner. He is curled into as much of a fetal position as he can manage, but starts to uncurl in surprise once the lights come on.
He is covered in patches of light blue and black fur and is about about five feet tall in total. His hands are four stubby finger with small, non-retractable claws on the end of each 'finger', whilst his feet end in what can only be described as paws. A long, bushy tail sprouts from his tailbone and his head has all the characteristics of a beagle. All in all, he looks almost exactly like a bipedal dog.

He looks at everyone in shock, first at Arhareli, then Kage, then Mesa and I and then the rest of us. <I knew your speech was unfamiliar, but I did not realize you were all so alien...> He looks at all of us in bewilderment. <What are all of you?>

Shaun now having got courage to avenge his father and knowing his father was a war prince. To Reli he says "to me his name is General Oran and you are to call him by his human name not his Andalite name the one at which he hated for all the damage he caused." To the stranger he says "We are humans, Andalites, Hork-Bajir and Leerans."

Fisher, heard or rather thought this stranger talking to Lee, informing them of the facts that they were in a Kelbrid prison, and the cell was completely morph-proof. Letting out a low curse at this, he tuned in to hear Shaun come too and erupt in justified anger, vowing to slaughter his father’s killer. Fisher winced, he pitied the kid, but he was doubting they’d ever get out alive.

Lee mentioned how nice lights would be, and as if to please the lights snapped on to reveal them all. Fisher’ eyes snapped shut; two days of darkness didn’t suit well when one was immediately exposed to bright light. Slowly he regained his sight until he could see out of to squinting eyes.

They were in a ten by ten foot room made out of black metal, or a metallic substance. Dressed in his morphing suit, as was everyone, he was locked to the wall by his shackles. At the end of the room next to what must have been a door, was a cage and inside was a creature that looked very similar to..

“A pooch!” Fisher blurted out aloud. The thing, five feet tall and wrapped in blue and black fur with four stubby fingers with claws, was curled up in in as much of the fetal position as it could, looked very much like a beagle, a bipedal beagle.

It seemed as shocked to see them as they were to see it. Bewildered, it asked what Fisher was dying to ask, what were they? Fisher struggled into more of a sitting position and answered.

"Um, I'm Corporal Fisher of the United Nations Marine Corps and this is my team, Private Baxter, Private Johan and Private Ben-David." He bobbed his head towards his fireteam who nodded dumbly.

Fisher looked the thing in its eyes and asked it firmly, "Now who and what are you, and where the hell are we anyway?" His eyes narrowed. "Are you Kelbrid?"
"Now I can't speak for everyone; at least not until 'The Device' is completed."

The creature looks at Fisher with a look of confusion. <Kelbrid? No, I am certainly not. I am a Pemalite. You mean to tell me you have never seen the Kelbrid?> Suddenly, something Shaun has said catches the Pemalite's attention. He directs his gaze at Kage. <You are Andalite? The Andalite race is dead. Conquered by the Kelbrid, as is alost every other race in the galaxy.>

This grabs Arhareli's attention. <I should hardly think so. We Andalites flourished as a species for many thousands of years.> Replies Reli, drawing herself up in pride.

That's true. I speak up, offering my support. From what we understand, Kelbrid and Andalites have abided by a treaty , separating half the galaxy for millennia.

The Pemalite directs it's attention to Arhareli. <You are Andalite? Impossible. You have only one blade. You have no claws or mouth. You cannot be the vicious Andalites.>

Jim listened as the General explained the purpose of the prison. He didn't fully understand why one Yeerk needed such careful guarding, but he never got a chance to ask. Like some horrible flower, a blade shot out of the General's chest.

Jim gasped and took a quick step forward, but that was as far as he got. A pair of explosions ripped through the prison ship and his world went black.

He awoke later - how much later, he had no idea - to hear the others trying to determine if everyone was all right. "I'm here," he called, trying to make his voice stronger than he felt. He unsteadily rose to his feet and took a step, only to discover he was bound with some high-tech material that seemed to move and flex with him. I bet it's to prevent morphing, he thought, and his guess was quickly confirmed.

The others seemed to be discussing their situation, Shaun vowing to avenge his father, something Jim sympathized with but doubted could ever happen.

Fisher did not register the word 'Pemalite,' oh well, some new race to learn about. However when the creature declared almost all races as subjects of the Kelbrid government, his eyes widened.

"What? That's absurd, I think the Kelbrid are lying through their alien teeth!" Then the 'Pemalite' went on, shocked that the Andalites lacked a truly monstrous appearance, much to Fisher's amusement. "Nope, this an an Andalite, the Kelbrid have been feeding their subjects much propaganda."

Mesa stayed quiet as the fuzz in her head finally cleared.  She heard everyone else's confusion as well as her own, and that hadn't helped.  You knew something was wrong!  She inwardly wailed.  Why couldn't you have warned them?!  She remembered that one horrid moment.  She had stiffened, opened her mouth to warn them, but then the blade had ripped straight through Alloran's heart.  She couldn't even shout before the explosion had knocked her out.

A Pemalite?!  She demanded at last, able to speak through the psychic turmoil again.  But the Pemalites died out...millennium ago, didn't they?  But I thought they were a myth.  Leera was home to an enormous library, where vast amounts of holobooks were stored.  There were Leerans devoted to nothing but scanning strangers' minds for accounts of history to add to their collection, with their permission.  One day, someone had come with vague knowledge of the Pemalites, though he was convinced it was a myth.  The historians had found that mind a very interesting, and the guy had been willing to share.

When the lights came on, Marty blinked. Not because of the light, but because of the creature that sat before him. A Pemalite? He sat silently through the conversation. He noticed when their species were listed. "We should be careful sharing such information, I believe. Is this room bugged?" he finally says.

((OOC: In the books, the Chee made the Animorphs agree not to give them away, and IIRC, Ax was surprised at their existence. Since Mesa didn't mention them aloud, I'm going to give Reli a basic knowledge of the Pemalites, but no awareness of the existence of the Chee.))

Arhareli's eyes bugged. Her words came out in a stumbling flood, almost simultaneously with Mesa's.

<P- you can't- Pemalites- It's one of the nursery stories we tell our children to warn them of dangers that come from space and the need for a powerful military. The stories say they were destroyed in a single day, because they had no defenses or weapons at all.>

Arhareli addressed the group directly.
<Pemalites are legendary among Andalites as having the first and greatest spacefaring technologies in galactic history, before they and their works were completely destroyed. They are also legendary for being completely against all forms of violence.>

Sharing knowledge like this was making it easier for Arhareli to endure the dreadful confined space and the ghastly memory of Alloran's death.

And poor Lee... even so, there are worse forms to be trapped in than those of Leerans.  I cannot imagine what he's going through. If we ever get out of it, I will have to introduce him to Wirikel-Aleros-Mastid, the only other Leeran nothlit I know. Perhaps they could be a psychological help to each other. Right now, though, better not to dwell on it.  By the Sky, there is a Pemalite! Alive!

The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.

Reyna is slower to wake than the others, caught up in a nightmare of images that cannot possibly belong to her. Flashes of destruction and political deceit and monsters with gaping jaws fill her mind until her eyes snap open. The room is dark. Her eyes track left, then right, seeing no one, but hearing a cacophony of voices speaking over one another. It seems as if the others are all present, and all of them are attempting to figure out what has happened. Reyna does not join them in their speculation - not even when an unknown newcomer joins the conversation. All of her mental power is turned inward, for even though she has awoken, the images have not vanished.

She slowly comes to realize that the pictures can be organized. They have a timeline, with distinct emotions attached to each one. They can be strung together like a movie, made to play continuously. But what does it mean? she wonders. These pictures aren't mine, why are they in my head? Did the Leeran do something...?

She thinks back to her last few moments of consciousness and the nearly dead Alloran crawling towards her, suitcase in hand. The suitcase! Her mind balks in recognition as she remembers the moist brush of something against her ear.

"Oh no..." she whispers. At that same moment the lights click on, and she is forced to squeeze her eyes shut against the sudden brightness. The others are discussing something...Pemalit es? The name rings a slight bell - probably something she read in passing during one of her history classes. It is unimportant at the moment. All that matters is what has transpired. Esplin 9-4-6-6 Prime....The Abomination...Visse r Three, later Visser One.... his names and designations ring in her head, each one feeling like a blow to her gut as she realizes what has transpired.

Mesa closed her eyes to deal with what had just happened.  The entire prison ship had been for Visser One.  Though the Leerans were relatively unaffected, except for their brief enslavement, the name was still hated throughout the planet.  And he was...

The Abomination...Visse r Three, later Visser One...He's...

In my head!  Mesa accidentally yelped the last of Reyna's thoughts out loud.  No! she quickly corrected herself.  Reyna is a Controller!  Visser One is in her head!  The enormity of the situation crashed upon her.  The evil Yeerk tyrant was back, with a new body.  He was probably the one communicating with the Kelbrid.  There were Yeerks in Kelbrid space.  This could start another war!  And she...she and the others...several human youths, a Corporal, an Andalite tail-blade fighter, a human Nothlit and a Hork-Bajir Seer...were the only ones who knew.
