Okay, stick with me.We walk down the hallways of the prison ship, passing numerous human and Andalite warriors. Some of their weapons are recognizable, others are not. They seem to be prototypes, available exclusively to this crew.
Comms relay. Left corridor, turn right, proceed straight 400 meters, thrice left, twice right.I try to keep my mind as focused on the task at hand as we walk our way through the maze. It seems that of all the humans and Andalites, they all have one thing in common; They are all heavily battle-scarred. Most are gen-modded, all are high ranking. At one point, you pass an Andalite in the hallway that seems to have the upper body strength of a human. He's so sure of himself that he doesn't even swivel his stalk-eyes to watch you as he passes. A long, jagged scar reaches from his right collar bone to where the right human hip bone would be.
Less than a dozen human and a Leeran, I hear him snort in his own mind as he passes us,
No honour in it.Finally, after what seems like nearly ten minute of walking, we come to a single, modified steel, hydraulic door. It opens at our presence and allows us inside to an almost pitch black room. The writing on the door is in Galard, reading "Inmate observation".
Inside is a man in stark contrast to the people you have just passed. He is roughly six feet tall and lanky. His body is toned and his ears are pressed flat against his head. The only explanation for his appearance would seem to be that his entire muscular and vestibular system has been completely modified to take full advantage of all aspects of human dexterity, reflexes and balance. In fact, it's quite safe to assume that his ears have been modified to include a vestibular apparatus, literally giving him the balance of a cat. This is made even more evident by the golden glow of his eyes reflecting the only incoming light from the doorway and a one-way mirror to the mans left, hinting at the presence of a reflective layer of tapetum in his eyes, giving him night vision.
A light turns on and the darkness clears, the door hissing shut behind us. The man in front of us is illuminated more, with a full head of brown hair and yellow eyes.
"Was beginning to think you weren't coming, Lee." He addresses me, "Let your people know that they can demorph. This room is one of the most secure in this facility. Apart from that one." He nods through the glass at a small room. Inside lies a single crate, the size of a small suitcase.
I search the room for any other minds present before answering.
Thank you, Allan. Sorry for the wait. I turn to Kage, Reli and Mesa,
It's okay, we can trust him. Demorph. Mesa and I will use our Leeran forms to listen for anyone approaching.General Oran nods and then stops, abruptly. "Shaun?!"
Kage nods and begins to demorph, much to his relief.
I'm much more useful with my blades, anyway.Once he finishes, he stops to regard the father-son reunion with curiosity.
