((Oops, I missed that one, too. Dang, I'm getting slow!))
The universe is, instant by instant, re-created anew. There is, in truth, no Past, only a memory of the Past. Blink your eyes, and the world you see next did not exist when you closed them. The only appropriate state of the mind is surprise. The only appropriate state of the heart is joy. The sky you see now, you have never seen before. The perfect moment is now. Be glad of it.

She seems to be coping well, Mesa said to Reli in regards of Reyna.  Visser One is pretty much dormant.

She reeled slightly with shock as Lee morphs.  But...the two-hour limit...?  No time, no time.  I think I'll stay in my Leeran form, she said.  If that's okay.  We need to keep an eye out for anything these Kelbrid might throw at us.

Chris didn't morph even when he saw Shaun and Lee.... LEE! He shoved it aside and focussed on the mission he would morph later. "Kelbrid morping technology? Don't you mean andalite morphing technology?"

"Oh....right," Reyna raised a hand to her forehead, rubbing it vigorously. What if he wakes up? The thought is terrifying to Reyna, and she rubs harder, as though trying to remove the very notion. When she pulls her hand away she looks just as confused as before, but she approaches Reli cautiously, giving her tail a wide berth.

"I guess that's the best idea" Reyna hesitates. "Um...how do I get on?"

Ehruf just stares at Chris for a moment, with his cold, white eyes.

<I believe we'll have plenty of time to answer questions when we make it out of here alive.> Ayrow says.

"Agreed." I answer, as we start to move forward.

Kage quickly takes his position, still trying in vain to comprehend the situation and feeling a little overwhelmed, especially after Lee morphed a Hork-Bajir.

The pathway that we walk down is similar to the cell. Black, almost organic metal, the roof of which seems to be emitting light in some bioluminescent fashion. The atmosphere of the ship is thick, humid and very temperate, which is a welcome development for Kage and I with our Hork-Bajir physiology. There is enough room in the hallway for three Hork-Bajir to walk side by side and enough head clearance to make even a Hork-Bajir feel short.

<There should be jump-capable vessels not too far ahead.> Ehruf says, leading the way.

As we round the corner, however, Ehruf stops suddenly. In front of us are four other creatures, similar in appearance to Ehruf's morph, each one at least a foot taller than a Hork-Bajir. They all appear to be talking in a language consisting of clicks, whistles guttural squarks.

"Rrrk ta pheer ke-ke grarrr crrrk-tse."

<Looks like fight or flight from here,> Ayrow says, baring his fangs as one of the four notices our arrival and draws his companions attention to as with a shrill cry. Escaped. Led by one who has stolen the essence. Comes a deep voice from one of the creatures. You could almost mistake it for Leeran, but it doesn't have the same presence in terms of emotion and communication. It seems more commanding. Dominant and hungry.
What you can only assume to be the Kelbrid each pull two foot long daggers from sheaths on their hips, an action that Ehruf mimics, whilst also demorphing.

<I'll be cursed before I become soul-bound to a Kelbrid morph while fighting these monsters!>

The Kelbrid each hold their daggers tightly in their two-fingered, two-thumbed hands in a bird like grip and charge towards us, murder in their eyes.

Kage and I take our stances and brace for the attack.

Shaun sees the attack and decides to counter attack. He pushes people out of his way and charges on all fours at the Kelbrid, gets to the front of the group and beats his chest and bares his fangs ready to be the first person they hit when the attack comes. He then clenches his fists and screams <THIS IS FOR MY FATHER!>.
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
Jake: (nods and wipes tears) Yeah. Until then, we fight.

"Right," Reyna said, nodding as if it made perfect sense. Ride an Andalite. If my parents could see me... She snakes her arms around Reli's waist, trying hard not to shudder at the touch of Andalite fur. Then she hoists one leg up as far as she can, grateful for the morphing outfit that leaves her movement unrestricted.

<Okay, up you go!> Keeping her blade well away from the human, Arhareli hooked her tail under Reyna's leg and lifted her quickly until she could sling her leg across the Andalite's sloping back.  Reli let Reyna's weight get settled... not as heavy as Reli had expected, and all the better for it.

Human bone construction really isn't as dense as I thought it would be, considering their musculature and the needs for balance....

<Hang on tightly; we're going to be moving fast!> Reli bolted forward and quickly met up with the rest of the group, tail arched high and ready to make short work of anything that got too close.

Chris had began morphing as soon as he had seen the Kelbrid. Now he finished and let out a ROAR! He looked over the group he seem to be surrounded by Prey! He saw the Kelbrid and knew they were the greatest threat. He would deal with them and then move onto the easier prey like the blue hooved prey. He stalked towards the Kelbrid and snarled.

Jim immediately began his Polar Bear morph as soon as the Kelbrid began their charge, staying in the middle of the group until he finished morphing. What I wouldn't give to be able to morph faster! he started to panic, trying to will his morph to finish faster.

Kage was frozen where he stood, unsure of what to do. He'd always heard of combat, but he was still Hork-Bajir. Violence wasn't the first reaction he had to any situation.

I, on the other hand, was quick to bring up my wrist blades to defend myself. I was just as untested in battle, but I had a minor advantage. All that time on earth, the exposure to the human psyche... I don't know whether to be happy or dismayed at immediate lunge towards self-preservation...

The Kelbrid, however, seem unfazed at the sight of all the morphing and confusion. The lead Kelbrid leaps at Ehruf and Ayrow, soaring over Shaun and landing between the two Pemalites with a screech. It swipes with both its' knives, the first sinking deep into Ehruf's morphing abdomen and the second narrowly missing Ayrow's neck. Ayrow snarls at the Kelbrid and swipes with his paw only to find that it has no purchase on the Kelbrid hide, sliding off harmlessly due to some slick substance coating the Kelbrid's flesh.

The Kelbrid behind it leaps directly at Shaun, landing with such tremendous force that it knocks a full grown Silverback Gorilla onto his back, the talons of it's feet planted firmly on his shoulders, pinning him down. With a lunge, the Kelbrid swings down both it's blades towards either side of Shaun's collar bone, hissing.

The remaining two Kelbid begin bringing up the rear, looking at Shaun intently. Consume the Pure Kelox!!!

((gorillaman, roll a D10 and PM the result for me. Sorry, the Kelbrid got a high Luck roll. Gymn, you may want to roll a D10, too, to see if your Willpower overcomes the Lion instincts.))

Fisher had stopped  caring about anything other than survival now, getting off this literally stinking ship. When Lee morphed into a Hork-Bajir Fisher made a mental note to check in later about that.

And now, faced by several big and mean looking Kelbrid, Fisher and his team where backing off to the rear, useless in this fight.

Fisher could feel fear pumping through him along with the adrenaline flooding his system. Backing off fearfully, he saw as one of them leaped, nearly took out their Pemalite allies and knocked down Shaun's gorilla morph.

"Ok, this is where those blades of yours come in right?"
"Now I can't speak for everyone; at least not until 'The Device' is completed."

((I did my own dice roll for this post; I rolled 1 on a d10, so I'm going to treat it as if the attempted maneuver fails to be completed. Next I rolled a 6, so I'm treating that as a successful but imperfect maneuver.))

<Shaun! Are you okay? Reyna, keep your head low and stay as close to my torso-back as you possibly can.>

Arhareli leapt toward the Kelbrid that had the gorilla pinned... she only had enough time to parry one of the blades... she went for the nearest, on the Kelbrid's left... and at the wrong moment, one of her hooves skidded on the smooth floor. The strike went wide from its target.  Reli used the momentum of her tail on the recoil stroke to knock the blade sideways and off-center, but the edge of her blade made no contact.

Yaolin! Arhareli repeated the Andalite curse rapidly in her thoughts. This was going very badly.

((Don't know if we have to consult the GM about killing nameless Kelbrid attackers, so I'll stop there for this post.))

<I'm okay>, Shaun said as he threw the Kelbrid from his body and removed the knife and threw it to Fisher for protection. <Fisher use it only if they can get through our ranks or if you can get a kill with it from behind. Reli thanks for distracting the Kelbrid it gave me enough time to react and now fight to kill.> Shaun stood up from the attack his one arm hung limp at his side unable to be used. <Guys this one is mine, he attacked me he needs to know that i mean business and that i plan to fight to kill. If i fall in this battle know that i plan on taking him with me and if i cannot show him no mercy.> With that Shaun screamed at the Kelbrid <Fight me one on one!> hoping that i would understand his speech.
Marco: Now do you see why it's crazy to think we can beat the Yeerks? I mean, come on: We can barely beat zoo security.

Tobias: (now stuck as a hawk) They'll come. The Andalites will come. And until then...
