Oh, hey, character looks. Sweet.

Salem is human, just shy of 6' tall, with curly, reddish-brown hair and blue eyes. He's currently wearing a silverish, thick-ish shirt that doubles as a form of armoring, and what could be seen as a sort of black cargo pants, along with black, western-style boots, complete with spurs.

Al is... well, he's an artificial intelligence inhabiting a Chee body, but you wouldn't know by looking. He's projecting a hologram so that he appears to be a human male of Native American descent with slightly longer black hair, currently wearing a full on tuxedo.

Sorry. I know I shouldn't just write one line, but it was just a quick thing and I wasn't sure what else to write.

The general rule, Hunter, is to avoid one-liners if at all possible and make your posts as meaty as possible.  Sometimes, albeit rarely, there are times when you need to post a response, but there isn't much opportunity for elaboration.  But as a general rule, as much detail and  post thickness as possible are desired.

Also, when Ossanlin says "meaty" he does not necessarily mean that you need to write a novel. There's a nice balance between one line and five paragraphs.

Simon should have a translater chip in his head that will translate Japanese once the samurai speaks enough of it.

The chip will allow him to speak it? Or let him understand the words being said?

I assume if you can understand it, you can speak it. You might have a weird accent or pronounce some things wrong, but if you hear a word and know what it means, you should be able to use it. Not write it, and not sound like a local, but at least use it in a formal sense.

Though I guess I can just have him not be able to speak it much, even though the chip tells him what the words mean.

Ossanlin also has a universal translator chip implanted in his head, and I believe Salem does too.  And being that Ossanlin uses thought-speech, that's already universally understood, so he should be able to both understand and communicate without difficulty.
