Chad frowned. He liked Tarry already, and he didn't exactly want him to go to a zoo. "I'd really like it if we could keep him, instead of putting him in a zoo..."

"I like that," Jo said.  "You and Mr. Black could care for him.  Unless you you have other pets?"

"I wasn't suggesting that I actually take him to the zoo.  I just thought it would make sense and wouldn't look too suspicious if I brought him on the bus back to the high school under the pretense of taking him to the zoo.  I think it would be a great idea if Chad and Mr. Black kept him.   My parents would never let me keep a parrot seeing as how my mom is afraid of all birds."

"Yeah, that should work!" Brian said,

"Well.... Technically, wouldn't animal control handle something like that? I know we can't let that happen, but...." Sean looked at the line shrinking in front of him. "If only we had a car to drive back home in...." There's always the storage compartment...

Kristin saw people waiting to get on the bus who looked very annoyed that she was standing in their way.  She quickly stepped away from the stairs to the bus and rejoined her new group.

"I have an idea.  I don't know how good it is but it might work.  What if I wrap Tarry in my sweatshirt...loosel y of course...and put him in an empty overhead compartment of the bus.  Once the door to the compartment is closed, Tarry can get out of the sweatshirt and have a little room to move around without being noticed."

Jo wasn't sure she liked that idea.  A normal bird would go crazy in such a small space.  Then again what about Tarry was normal.

Tarry saw the humans that he had been spending time lately- he supposed they would now help him oppose the yeerks- and landed on the shoulder of the one called Brian. <What is this vehicle, Some form of primitive transport? What is an overhead bin? And WHY ARE THERE NOW SEVERAL MORE MORPH CAPABLE HUMANS?> The officer in Tarry knew that the more troops they had the easier the fight would be, but the Andalite in him was furious at the nearly uncontrollable spread of technology invented by his people.

Brian jumped slightly as Tarry grabbed onto his shoulders. It wasn't too hard, but it wasn't exactly comfortable. "Uh... HEY LOOK! I CAUGHT THAT PARROT!" Brian gently lifted the bird off of his shoulder and held him near his chest. "Sorry about this Tarry... it looks kinda suspicious for your kind of bird to be around here..." he whispered. "Now about them... It's a long story. We live in a city that's kinda far from here, and we have to ride in this to get there. What are you going to do? Could you follow us?"

"Maybe he could sit on the roof."

"Nah, that wouldn't be very easy." Chad took a step forward, and then said, "He'd lose his grip soon enough, unless he has a good one."

<I have spent much time in this form and I have come to believe, based on it's physical abilities, that It would be very difficult to follow you or sit on the roof of this primitive human transport.> Tarry looked with trepidation at the bus; <I must also add that we andalites, we are creatures of the open spaces...>
Meh.

"So what are you going to do, Tarry? We're assuming you do want to follow us..." Brian looked at the four people in front of him.

"What about that lady Olivia? Maybe she could help...." Sean said. " Other than that, I don't see any other options."

"He would have to wait for her to leave work before she could be asked," Josefina said.  "Would you be able to stay out of sight better than before until about 5 o'clock?"

Tarry gave a thoughtspeak version of a sigh, < I have heard alot of talks about your human 'cars'. Particularly about a type known as a dodge charger; what does it charge? Also, I wish very much to follow you, you may be Aliens but I am cut of from my own home and cannot destroy the enemy by myself.> Tarry walked across Brian's head to his other shoulder and gave a sqwauk, <I do enjoy using this forms mouth to make sounds.> Focusing himself on Josefina's question he answered, <I believe I can stay out of sight, perhaps atop the roof of one of the local structures. What time is it in human hours right now?>
Meh.

"It's about Three in the afternoon right now." Brian said. "But what if it turns out she can't? What if she carpools?"

"I don't have work tomorrow. If we don't hear from her by tomorrow morning, I'll drive back out here and get him, okay? Does that sound okay to you, Tarry? I'd hate to leave you out here, but then again, you seem to be just fine with that." Sean said, still whispering while Brian held the 'wild parrot'. "Let the bird go now... pretend he bit you or something. People are watching..."

"Oh uh... OWWW! DANG! DUMB BIRD!" Brian shouted. "Sorry..." he whispered as he let go of the extraterrestrial parrot.
