welcome and hello!

can't wait for you to read the books! They are awesome :)

"And for years I believed
That what went unsaid between us became empty,
And pure, like starlight, & that it persisted.

I got it all wrong.
I wound up believing in words the way a scientist
Believes in carbon, after death. " --Excerpt from Winter Stars by Larry Levis

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! I appreciate it. Didn't mean to drop off the face of the planet after my first post, but I had a hectic week and had no time for much except work and occasionally eating and sleeping. Anyway, despite what my long absence may make it seem like, I AM excited to be here! I know it's an interesting group, if those I've met are any indication. Can't wait to get to know more of you :)

My man Dave (Pez001) and I have met Jessi and we're pretty much exploding with eagerness to meet the rest of the Houston crew ;D

Of course, if you ever feel the urge to come visit Denver/Boulder...I'm also organizing a coup to get everyone I know to relocate here XD  We grew up in Boston, Dave and I, so we're transplants too.

As for hippies, I went to school in hippie cow land of western Mass., and I now live in the hippie capital of the Rocky Mountain region...I want a VW bus...so Berkeley makes me happy.  I promise I won't make hippie jokes ;)

Of course, if you ever feel the urge to come visit Denver/Boulder...

First things first: as far as the urge to visit Colorado and Denver/Boulder... well, you can be sure that it's pretty much constant with me... I LOVED Colorado years ago (I think I was... 9 when I went camping there?).  And now I know someone there!  Hooray.  Also, I'm extraordinarily jealous that you get to live in such a gorgeous state.  I always imagined that if I moved out of Cali, I would go somewhere equally beautiful like Colorado or Montana for a little while because I was so struck by them when I visited.  Texas... at least anywhere near Houston, etc, falls a bit short on the whole breathtakingly beautiful anything factor.  No offense, my native Houstonian friends out there.

As for hippies, I went to school in hippie cow land of western Mass., and I now live in the hippie capital of the Rocky Mountain region...I want a VW bus...so Berkeley makes me happy.  I promise I won't make hippie jokes ;)

I totally grew up with a creamsicle-orange VW bus... thought you'd appreciate that ;)

Oh, I am loving the creamsicle VW bus.  So totally epic.

I love this part of the country, even though I sometimes miss my claustrophobic, tree-filled, lobstah-eating home ;)

You know me in Colorado too, you punk :P

Which I am planning on leaving for Houston. Much to the horror of you and everyone else I tell, at least judging by the looks on their faces. Is it really that strange to want to move to be close to really cool people?

Wow I fail hard. I forgot that you hailed from the great state of Colorado... But how bout we say it was because, in my heart of hearts, I know you belong here in Houston with us. Because you're THAT cool.  ;D And no, it's not that strange to want to be amongst us, maybe it's just odd that we all ended up in a place like Houston. We are waaaay to cool for it. Lol. That includes you.

Haha. Kind of my thoughts exactly, being down there. How is it that so many awesome people ended up in Texas? :P Honestly, Houston's actually pretty cool as far as cities go from what I've seen.

And, yeah, if I were smart, I'd be moving up to Boulder- in addition to Tara and Dave, I have some pretty cool non-RAF friends up there too. But I've got reasons that I just want to get out of this area and as far away as I can for a while >.<
