jeez: in a move of epic lameness I ran across a line of Cassie's about telling male and female mosquitoes apart.
Which is exactly what I did in my entomology class this week!

Fun fact: for most any mosquito of notable size you don't need a magnifying glass: "fuzzy" antennae=male, you can see that most right away

At the moment me and a friend are doing an epic re-read, re-watch and re-write (fanfic) of Animorphs that is providing endless and amusing opportunities for Animorphs references and thoughts.

The other day we had an entire discussion about what happens to a Yeerk when it's host body morphs. Coming to the conclusion that it must get counted as 'excess mass' and end up in Z-Space but remaining in control of the host.

Then we had a conversation about what would happen if you infested a baby... would it ever have a sense of individuality? But we also decided this topic was irrelevant since an infant would be a poor choice of host and never chosen.

And then another discussion about the use of thought-speech in human morph. Ax states in #8 that he can't which to us makes no sense... since any animal (including humans) has the capacity for communication, regardless of language. Which means that thought-speech should be a natural element in any morph, even if it is sentient and has a more sophisticated level of communication.

As you can see a lot of our time is spent talking about bizarre Ani thoughts... =P

Anyone know why the heck Rachel didn't turn into an elephant at the end instead of a grizzly?  I mean yeah the author had to have SOMEONE die, but why wouldn't she have turned into her elephant, it was bigger and she was bigger that the buffalo at the end.

     Rachel rarely used the Elephant in the series.

The Grizzly was Rachel's true battle morph and the one she had the most experience with.

That got me thinking about the time Tobias mentioned Wayne Gretzky (Cuz that's the only hockey player I know)
And I recalled that was in book 12
in response to the gals fandom of the t.v. kid
who was a spin on I think Johnathan taylor thomas
Who I realized is now forgotten and too old to be relevant.
So I realized an updated animorphs would need a different teen idol
and that brought to mind justin bieber
And that made me ill

There's also the guy in book 3 that Tobias helped escape- that's two people very early on in the series who were aware of the invasion, and potential allies.

So, I was just watching an episode of Star Trek.  The plot involved a Sario rip hole in time being opened by the collective explosion of weapons firing, which took the crew into an alternate timeline until Cassie the crew's resident black-female-moral-compass noticed that something didn't feel right because she can sense messed-up timelines.

Yes and remember Tobias had told the guy to bascially forget it ever happened and to just go about life normally.
